Readers have been asking about a Feb. 1 deadline — that would be today — in the Casey Anthony case. She is charged with the first-degree murder of her daughter, Caylee.

In October, the Sentinel wrote that Judge Stan Strickland “ordered the defense team to turn over its witness list to prosecutors by Feb. 1. Prosecutors want to question the witnesses who support the defense’s claim that Anthony is innocent.”

But this deadline was rendered moot on the day Anthony pled guilty in her check-fraud case. The prosecution and the defense agreed to work out a new schedule of deadlines for the case, including a potential trial date.  That schedule has not yet been made public.

There has been noticeable slowness in the forum this afternoon.  The tech guy suggested I move some of the MP High Profile if they weren't so high profile any longer as refreshing while in that area might be slowing things down (since that's where most everyone is).  So I've done that and moved some down to the regular MP area.  Let's see if it helps

You've seen every episode of "Perry Mason" and "CSI" and watched plenty of courtroom-drama movies. You're pretty well-versed in criminal justice. You know what goes on in front of a judge.

So when you were arrested, you figured you'd be back at work, quick-like. No big deal. You didn't do whatever they say you did, you have a lawyer, and you're innocent until proven guilty, right?

Wrong. And in some states, that cockiness can get you killed, as you'll see in "Angel of Death Row" by Andrea D. Lyons.

Growing up in Chicago, Lyons was far from popular. She was the "smart girl" who corrected teachers and always had a book in her hand. Her assertive nerdiness made her the butt of jokes and teasing, which in turn gave her empathy for the underdog. Later, with a nod toward that empathy, she became a lawyer.

IMO this is such silly shtick-here we have someone equating intelligence with a smart a-lecky student.  A really smart student is not dis-respectful toward her teachers-her 'betters'.  It sounds as though The Hair Barrette Lady was actually rude and the writer is passing it off as " assertive" ... And, "in a backwards sort of way"   actually jabs the love of books & the legal profession in the process.  I am not liking this. lol

Thanks for posting the Megyn Kelly interview of Cindy......I have it saved on my youtube and watch it sometimes when my anger starts to spillith over from her evil antics. I wish more reporters/journalists had the b@lls to ask the "real" questions like Megyn did.

I could not agree more, Babybear. I had forgotten that from the beginning Cindy was the master at the blame game. Has no one in this family ever taken responsibility for their actions ? Casey learned about denial and shifting blame at her mother's knee. Cindy is vile and contemptible and Casey learned her lessons well.

I have to add my thanks to Trimm for those videos.  A neat little reminder that Cindy did not become combative and obstructionist after long weary days of dealing with the media.  She was like this from day 31! My absolute fave rave part was the implied threat when she said that the nation would see how insensitive the media was to her, the grieving grandma, if they continued to ask questions she didn't like.  Gee, who does that sound like?  Also, the blame the media tirade if Caylee wasn't found.  I'm still a little confused about the media conspiracy to murder Caylee.  Throw a grassy knoll in there and a schoolbook repository, and maybe we'd have enough for another Warrren commission. 
Cindy absolutely disgusts me.  At the very moment when she could have expected some sympathy and compassion, she came out swinging.  If Casey ends up with LWOP, or the death penalty is imposed, I believe Cindy should be held at least partially responsible.  She was digging Casey's grave early on.
