must be warm where you are?  It snowed all day here yesterday and we still have melting snow on the ground... no yardwork today!  LOL

Good Evening Monkeys!
Hope everyone has had a great Christmas.

I canceled lunch with my sister as I would have needed floaties and a boat to get out of here . We have had over 4 inches of rain today., so I have been really lazy and slept most of the day. I now have a pool in my front lawn.

65 degrees sounds pretty good. I am in DFW Texas and am bundled up in my robe and toe socks in the house.... brrrrrrr... Baking some things for Sunday dinner and about to get up and get ready to go out to dinner with my hubby.  Happy Christmas evening to all of you.

That is a lot of rain at one time  It's nice to lay in bed listening to the rain, but when you get up and have a pool in your front lawn, not so good  I'm sure the roads, and the driving is crazy, good thing you stayed in.

And yes it is the pits to get rained in. It has rained so hard at times you couldn't see the road in front of my house.But the rain is better than the freezing rain they are getting further north of here. If all this rain had froze we would be in a huge mess.

Then you would have a frozen pond in your yard, and JSM would have to come and  on it. That freezing rain isn't funny, I remember some storms when I was young that you could have skated up and down the sidewalks

We have had those to NRCG. Been without power for weeks and nearly froze to death lol. Tree limbs down on power lines and roads and everything just a huge sheet of ice. We haven't had a bad ice storm in a long time, but just hold our breath everytime it rains in the winter time.

It can be awful, the tree limbs and power lines just covered in ice. When you look out it looks amazing, but the damage can be extensive. Somehow all the years of that weather, I never remember losing our power

bananas, I have to say I thought the same when I heard no rose say she was going to do yard work. Raining and lots of snow still on the gound here. Nasty out! LOL

A 23-year-old Nigerian man tried to light a powdery substance aboard a Northwest Airlines flight before landing in Detroit on Friday, a senior U.S. counterterrorism official told NBC News.

Two people noticed the attempt and a third person jumped on the man and subdued him, an airline official told NBC News.

The man is being treated at the burn unit of the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, officials said.

The man told investigators that he wanted to set off a bomb over the United States and claimed to be tied to al-Qaida, counterterrorism officials said.

The man was subdued by the crew of Flight 253 from Amsterdam, one counterterrorism official said. The official said the man left Lagos, Nigeria, on Thursday, then boarded the Northwest flight in Amsterdam on Friday.

Flight 253 was an Airbus 330 carrying 278 passengers. The Transportation Security Administration reported that the plane was taken to a remote area of Detroit Metropolitan Airport and all passengers deplaned and were rescreened along with all the luggage on the flight. In addition, all passengers were interviewed, a TSA statement said.

President Barack Obama, who is vacationing in Hawaii, was informed of the incident Friday morning by his National Security Council staff, White House spokesman Bill Burton said.

U.S. counterterrorism officials are treating this as a possible terrorist attack and are taking it “very seriously,” counterterrorism officials said. An interagency meeting of senior intelligence, law enforcement and security was convened out of Washington to discuss the incident and possible measures to ensure there no similar attacks, Burton said.

Thanks Muffy for the warning. I think it was the Russian leader who years ago that the US would fall without one shot being fired. I think the man might have been right. The pediphiles are doing a good job of it. Between Americans killing each other and Al-Quida trying to destroy us and the economy so bad and evil on our streets it is happening every day.
