I always seem to fly at the wrong time as well.  I flew the week after 911 and the planes could fly again, I was in Boston when a man proved he could get explosives on a plane, and I was flying the day after the shoe bomber in the UK.  I have been patted down, strip searched, sniffed by dogs and swabbed.  I think everyone should fly naked then they are all on the same playing field in the plane.  It would also shorten security lines.

Oh my  If that were the case, I would just drive, but you are right, it would shorten the security lines. That was my big fear, I was afraid of being strip searched.

Oh my  If that were the case, I would just drive, but you are right, it would shorten the security lines. That was my big fear, I was afraid of being strip searched. 

It was in Frankfurt in 1977.  I was flying with my Mom and we both got strip searched.  She was horrified.  It was after the Lufthansa plane was taken by Palestinian hijackers.  They had serious security in that airport, armed guards with machine guns and dogs.   Everyone was strip searched, men went to one side of security, woman went to another.

Me too No Rose.  Even had my name written down in some book at the aiport. I wanted to laugh but I didn't dare. I never would have gotten on the plane. When it was all done one of the sercuity ladies told me it was my ticket. That there was some code on it. Because I was going one way to DFW I was picked. Your idea about flying naked sure would cut down on the check in time. Of cousre the air lanes might go out of business.

I am watching CNN and they have all the luggage from that flight out on the runway.  Dogs are sniffing it.  Wonder if they are going to start blowing up the luggage if the dogs alert to them?

When I first read this on line I thought there was a second man on the plane on Christmas day. Wow like you said nrcg another one in a matter of days.

sorry about the double post. The first one didn't show up so reposted and they were both there.

One time going back to NY had a lay over in Atlanta  & my friend and I went into one of the smoking rooms and had a cig. When we got to the security I peeped so the pulled me over and had me take off my shoes again and do the pose while they patted me down and all that. I had put my lighter in my dress pocket. I didn't even look at my friend. Because I knew we would both laugh. When we got to the plane. They stopped her at the gate and had her take her shoes off and went threw her purse and carry on. We both knew it because we traveling together and since I was stopped they figured they better check her out.

Tevye - One of my sons loves golfing but always asks for balls that are strange coloured so he can find them easily on the course.  During my shopping this year I found neon yellow balls with Sponge Bob on them.  He loved them!  Best present of the year for him.

WASHINGTON — Some airlines are telling passengers that new security regulations prohibit them from leaving their seats beginning an hour before landing. Air Canada said in a statement Saturday that new rules imposed by the Transportation Security Administration limit on-board activities by passengers and crew in U.S. airspace. The airline said that during the final hour of flight passengers must remain seated. They won't be allowed access to carry-on baggage or to have any items on their laps.

They said a few minutes ago he had gone to the bathroom 5 times prior and the last time he was in there for about 1 hour.  They have also said that it appears he had a medical reason to be frequenting the bathroom.
