Hey My monkey. We got here about 10:45 Mountain time. Yestderday was just crazy because it took us six hours to get from WF from Irving. Luckily we found a hotel that was totally awesome, empty and once we got to Vernon, it was smooth sailing all the way. I just kept my nose in the laptop watching videos. There isnt much to see as in sights on hwy 287 so I watched videos. We did stop at DQ, but I just smoked, everyone else got ice cream. Thanks for worrying.

I was thinking last night is JSM saying "ARE WE THERE YET" like the kids will do over and over but I see you were a good girl and watched videos ::MonkeyHaHa::hope you have a good day today.

Mymonkey, I was saying that on the last 60 miles. I was so needing a cigarette by then. Hope you are having a good day too!

Me Three ... I honesty had to check and see if it was Sunday today - seems the last days have all run together.  I am so glad all the Hub Bub is over .. 

Today is the last day of my Hub Bub.  All the neighbours get together with leftovers from Christmas and we have a buffet of leftovers.  My house this year so one more day of a full house and tomorrow I declare official PJ day!

  I went to the Mountain Spirits today after the grocery store. I didn't realize that they have liqour stores open on Sunday and that you can't buy real beer in the grocery stores. Thanks for the info.

Also, where we are skating they rent skates and I don't think it is a "pond", but more like what you have in your backyard.  I hope we get to go tomorrow.

YES I had a Fabulous Christmas !! Thank You All for Asking.
I spent it with my Beautiful Incredible Daughter, my Mom - and We had So Much Fun. 

She picked out and gave me the most beautiful necklace and bracelet .. and she picked out a most beautiful Sweater .. in my flavorite color. She went to Chico's ..
We had a awesome time - 
I bought a ton of Glam beauty products for my D and M, Nail polish, creams, lotions etc - so we all sat around and painted our nails after we rubbed on body sugars, salts and body butters ...... It was def a girly Christmas.

Glad you had a good one Deenie, I spent my Christmas day stuck in traffic for over six hours to get only 80 miles. Other than that it was a great day. I got to watch Braveheart on the first 3 hours of the trip.

I wanted to Mention that I did not hear about the " Detroit Airport " Terrorist act until 24 hours later after it happened.. and I live right here. I had my radio on and it was never mentioned ..    Just makes you wonder ???  I watched it on CNN and I was like WHAT - Metro Detroit ...... Terror Act .. Plane.. Yemen .. Virginia ..

I read your post Northern about your experience. I have to say the last time I was on a plane was 3 yrs ago - January. I had to fly to Florida for business.  Metro Detroit Airport was no big deal - I arrived early etc. But flying back ..from Ft. Lauderdale was a entire different story. We were shuffled like Cattle for at least 2 hours prior to the flight. We stood in line forever. They locked the gate behind us. Some ppl were told to not only remove all their belongings from their pockets, yet were told to remove their shoes. 
** I have to laugh because this one woman was wearing these very delicate Gold Metallic high heeled shoes ..and they told her to take them off. She was Latino/Cuban or ?? she threw the biggest fit ... She was screaming as if she was a female Ricky Ricardo .. She made a huge scene. It was stupid too - because her entire foot was wide open - with all these little straps ...  you could see her toes etc. Then they went Ape on her and Husband and put them over to the side. Made them get out of the cattle line.  As if they were Criminals - That was not funny. At all.
Other people had to put their shoes in the containers to be screened - like full boots etc. She was one that said - OH Hell NO. She was yelling in broken English I am going to catch a disease off this CARPET - I will be barefoot. 

Some ppl had to stand for an hour or more without their Shoes, they allowed me to keep my shoes on. Then we were put into this " Telephone Booth" where they shot AIR at 100 Mph UPward - that you felt like you were being Blasted - I recall my Hair Flying UP over my head.  A pressurized cabin .. that was screening our entire bodies. And then we stood for another 40 mins prior to boarding the plane.

So how is it that WE still have these Terror acts on Planes ? I ask. That was my experience years ago. That was before all the bottles - shampoo, gels etc were not permitted.
I hate to fly - and will not unless I have too.  I hate to fly period let alone be put through all that prior to boarding a plane. I almost felt that I was being led to my demise. That my last steps on this earth would be getting on this plane.  O how I hate to fly.
I look back upon it and think ..too on the flip  Detroit Metro Airport - did nothing at all - In the realm of Security - compared to the Airport in Florida .. It was so easy at Metro.

Maybe the TSA should get on board and make all regulations - the same for All airports - instead of the new rules they are going to enforce - No one is allowed to move ONE hour prior to the plane landing. just a thought.

Our snow is almost gone, we had quite a bit of rain and mild temperatures lately. We do have big mounds of it where it was plowed though.

It's kind of nice to see the ground again, although it is spongy and wet.

Glad to see JSM made it safe to Colorado last night!

Hope she is having a good time ice skating on a pond!

Gonna run out to the grocery, catch you all in a bit.

The TSA is a joke, I can't believe there was another guy decided to do something terroristic again. I have been practically stripped searched, been told my purse wasn't very tidy by a TSA agent and a woman in a burqha walked right on by and wasn't even scanned. I have had the explosive wand swiped over me and my bags, by someone that looked like he was part of AlQaeda. It is crazy, I asked why I was picked out, he said he couldn't tell me. But then then on the way home from Cancun, they pulled me out of line, grabbed my bags slapped them on the conveyor belt and told me to go to the duty free shopping. My friends were so pizzed because they were having all their bags searched.

It wasn't fun, there were cars all on the side of the road just abandoned. Even the snowplow had been abandoned. It was crazy. Thanks Brandi dolled Josef up for New Years!

The funny thing was he carries a little knife on his key chain to open boxes or whatever. Even though he was pulled out and searched they NEVER NOTICED the knife. Amazing to me - the last of the four legs home he left it for a joke and again, no one stopped him. Scary eh?

  After reading everyone's stories, I'm more curious then before why they picked me to search. Wonder how they decide who to search, because the bunch that they picked with me included, was silly to say the least.
