Evening JSM & NR you guys are cracking me up with your hot spring smell.   
I am with NR it's really cool to go when its cold. When sister lived in Montanan they had one not far from them. It was fun

Yes it is.  It is only 3F right now.  Just right to go into a hotspring! 

How do you not catch pneumonia getting in the hot water and out in the cold. 

You have to put a robe on fast or jump in a snow bank to get the blood pumping.

Northern Rose how did you pot luck go tonight with your neighbors? Now you can take a couple days to rest up.

It was wonderful.  More food than I imagined.  One neighbour made sweet and sour turkey and rice, we also had left over ham, duck, cabbage rolls, pyrogies, stuffing, cornbread, sweet potatoes, a hodgepodge of veggies, fresh smoked sausage, buffalo meatballs, I baked buns and the desserts were outrageous.  Another neighbour brought over two large platters of home made chocolates and fudge that were way too good!

  CABBAGE ROLLS!!!!! If I were on death row that would be my last meal. 

Did you eat all of Norbert? Or was he in the pyrogies?  Never mind I see he was in the sausage. 

Norbert was the ham and sausage.   

Poor Norbert, Please don't name ducklings I will cry.

JSM the snow for Tuesday and Wed. is now rain and ice. Yuck that's even worse. Looks like I will be home for a couple more days.   

You are kidding? I have lived in Texas my whole life (minus a year in Oklahoma), but I cannot remember a winter like this. Please keep me posted because I was thinking about riding home with my brother and his gf on Wed or Thurs. If it is like it was Christmas, I will wait and go home with my parents. 

I will. Last year was cold but not wet. I am hoping it isn't icy rain. We still have snow in the yard. Not a lot but some. You know it is usally gone by the next day. 

Yeah last year was cold, but not that cold or wet. I remember New Years I think 78 or 79 and it was basically the same sort of weather. It was horrible. I hope it doesn't get bad for you Greeneyes. Stay safe and warm. I feel guilty sometimes griping about 1 inch of ice/snow when Northern, Mission, Scarey, Brandi and Sassy get all that crappy weather. I did buy me these things you put on your shoes that are like snow chains for tires. That way I won't break my arse walking Josef the next time it sleets and he runs down the stairs and I slip down the steps.

Glad you got something to keep you from falling on you bottom walking Joesf. They have such wonderful things now a days. We have 6 steps and taking daughters dogs out it was slow going because they were slippery.

OMG  I can't see either JSM or I be able to do that. My brother tells me I am a sissy when it comes to cold weather and he is right. I have lived in Southern Calif 97% of my life. Hats off to you Northern and all the other Monkeys that live in cold weather places.

Northern Rose how did you keep your toes warm? We are in the 20's and 30's and my toes are frozen even with shoes and socks. I hate wearing shoes as soon as it warms up until it gets cold I don't wear any unless I have to go to the store. Then it's sandles they are off as soon as I walk in the door.

I go barefoot all year.  Only time I wear socks is to go skating.  I even go sockless in my winter boots.  My mom was ready for me on Christmas eve, when I got to her house the first thing she did was hand me some hand knit slippers even before I took my boots off.

  OMG the first thing I worried about today was how was I going to skate without socks. That is the only time I don't wear socks.

It is so scary walking down the steps in that kind of weather. They were a lot cheaper than new snow boots. 20 bucks compared to 130 bucks and I could still slip in the boots.

You may want to reconsider that with the weather you are having.

Night Northern, they have snowshoeing here, my mom sunk to her waist so I doubt I will do that. Hope to have pictures tomorrow of us doing something cold and fun. See ya tomorrow.

I will, I have just never worn socks or tights with my skates, I can't feel the ice on the blades. But I will tomorrow wear some socks. Its not like I am going to jump and spin.

Night Monkeys, I am freezing and need a cigarette. I have more food in my condo here than I do at home. My parents shouldn't have told me to meet them at the grocery after church. I hadn't eaten and was starving.  Guess I better get to eating chips, hot sauce, burritos, pizza, hot pockets and soup. At least what I bought is something I can carry home.

NRCG,I hope your daughter has a great birthday.
My son was born on New Years Day,so it was always 2 celebrations back to back.I still make a cake and try to do something special.   

Going to check out the threads,see you in a little bit.Hubby is home now and he will not stop talking.
