Northern, I just wanted to thank you and the cold weather monkeys for telling me to skate on the pond.    I really thought I would fall through, but it was solid ice! I have skated on worse ice in a rink right after a hockey tournament even after they Zammed the ice. My whole family skated (mom and step dad didn't) but even 6 yo nephew did and we had so much fun. I want to go back tomorrow!!!

Woo Hoo! I woke up with terrible heartburn and no ant-acids, so figured JSM had left me some pretty pictures. Awesome! We have a pond-skating convert! Isn't it awesome? Next time on the snow machine, YOU drive, it's warmer. Looks like you're having fun. As for your SIL who thinks she's Julie Your Cruise Director, every trip has to have one. It's like there's so many people with different ideas for what to do, no one will step up and say "allright, we're going to go skating now because WE HAVE WASTED 2 HOURS OF THIS TRIP TALKING ABOUT WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO, AND WE'RE NOT DOING NOTHING!" (I usually take the Julie role on sister trips.)

You have fun..and if you do the sauna/snowbank thing, don't forget to wear your flip flops. You wouldn't want your feet to get cold!

I am upset just got back from animal Hospital. Had to take one of my kittens in and put down. The neighbors dog got her and took half of her little back off. But then to top it all off the charges were so dang hi. It ended up costing close to $300 bucks. That was bringing her home to bury her. 

Oh, Green Eyes, I'm sorry to hear that. Perhaps the neighbor will consider helping with the cost?

I know these things happen. But it doesn't make it hurt any less. We knew we had to have her put to sleep. But what got me is the Emergency Hospital and their fees. They can get away with it as they are the only ones around for 80 miles or so. And it was you pay our fee or you can take her home and take her to the Humane society tommorrow. Like we were going to let her suffer any longer. They know they have you by the short hairs. So today when it gets light before the rain/snow comes. Hubs will bury her in the back yard.
I am thankful that the grand kids weren't her to she her.

NoRose -  I hate the cable company.   I used to get stood up by those jerks every time so I start calling them about 10am and ask them every 30 minutes when they are coming - so now they come just because they get sick of me.   I've learned this is how you deal with them.   Bug the hell out of them.    Or they will bug the hell out of you.

Everyone - Hope Santa was good to each and every one of you.   
My hubby has been on vacation from his job -  and the holidays have worn me out.    I could use about a 3-day nap.
My daughter got feeling better and brought my little granddaughter down to see me.   She's so sweet.   She's laughing now and is so precious.

It's awful, we have one rather close and the costs are the same, it makes a person so angry the costs they charge.  I am glad the grandkids weren't there as well, our kitty is buried in our backyard as well, also many hamsters

Tevye, I'm sorry about the heartburn and no antacids. Hope it gets better. It snowed a bit last night, I just woke up. I am waiting on my brother to get here with the car so I can drive to where the hot air baloon takes off so I can get pictures of it going up. I don't think I will go on a snowmobile again, but my stepbrother did let me sit up front to warm up my hands on the handles. I am glad the SIL is being cruise director because as you said, most of us would be sitting on our butts doing nothing if she didn't find things for us to do. I loved the pond skating and if it hadn't snowed today I would go again.

Tevye, I had heartburn so bad with both pregnancies I was going crazy from it. The doctor recommended charcoal capsules that you can buy over the counter, and they really worked for me. Maybe you can ask your doctor and see what he thinks.

I got up early, was about to leave to go see them take off in the hot air balloon.  It was cancelled because of the weather. I know my brother and his gf are so disappointed. Oh well. We are going to eat breakfast in a few minutes. I bet I gain 10 pounds before this trip is over.

Good Morning No Rose.  I was posing for the picture, there is no way I would have been able to driven it. My BIL is such a baby, once we got down to the play area, he was about to cry begging the guides to let him go back up to the car.
