Seeking Justice for Caylee

« Reply #1600 on: December 29, 2009, 10:50:12 AM »

My best friend here before she moved, I use to take care of her dog Brandi when she would go visit her daughter, a very lovely dog. She was very ill and she had to put her down. She couldn't afford to cremate her and bring the ashes home and had to leave her there. She did not have a backyard where she could have buried her, she was in the process of selling her home
That is sad.  The vets do have you by the wallet that is for sure - when our German Shepherd died they charged us 480.00 to do an xray, a shot of pain med and send us down the road 30 miles to the pet hospital for surgery.  He died on the way to the hospital - 480.00 and no dog, it was hell.

How horrible  And what does a person do, you have to pay and do what is right, because they are family members. I thought maybe we paid more here living where we do, they get you for everything in this state, but I guess not

How sad. This place didn't have the option to leave them, it was either cremate them and get the ashes or take them home. Like your friend I couldn't afford to cremate her at least what they charged. Thats what got me. What we lived in an apartment had no place to bury her. I don't know why it should surprise me. It seems it's all about money for every thing now days.
It is, and what is really bad is when you go to the dentist, not only are the charges insane, even with insurance, then they try to sell you dental implants, like they did with my husband, he laughed and said are you kidding me, with those prices, isn't going to happen

I know it's outrageous. I know my daughter had a molar get bad. No insurance , told her just have them pull it. When she got there she got oh no you don't want that it will mess up your whole mouth and she ended up with a 1700 root canal. That gives her problems still.

I hate the dentists.    My dentist recently retired.   He was only 52 years old - and he moved to Florida and bought himself a million dollar home.   He's living off the money me and my kids spent in his office.

I thought it was outrageous even though we are in the middle of nowhere still it was alot - I don't think it helped it was a Friday at 10 minutes to 5 and we just show up with no appt - I have always wondered about that being the reason they charged us so much or if it is because they were the only vet in the area. They called us the next day to see how Zee was doing and I broke out in a complete sob and told her he died - they said they were sorry and that was it, nothing was said about the money we spent but I wasn't surprised.

That's what they do, it is sickening. My husband is always at the dentist for one thing or another, he went back because they said they wanted to see how one of the teeth they worked on was healing. When he got there it was a sales pitch for dental implants

Hi Sassy!  They do say that a dentist makes more than a doctor - the average bill when you sit in their chair and open your mouth is 1000.00 dollars - I should have gone to school to be a dentist.

I don't doubt it, I'm surprised our dentist, and the specialist they keep sending my husband to, haven't retired and moved to Hawaii  They tried to do a number on me with the regular silver fillings, and how it does this and that. I said I don't care what damage it causes, I have several in my mouth now, and that is what I can afford.

I know.    My dentist - the one that just retired - his daughter is in dental school.   If she decides to practice here, I will not go to her.   That family has already taken too much of my mula.

The silver ones hold up better.    I think if you haven't had any problems with them by now, then you probably won't.   That's what I tell my dentists.   I've lived with them this long - and they haven't hurt me yet!    I have some that are probably 20 years old.         Once they start poking around in your mouth, it will start to hurt.   They make the holes, I swear!

Yesterday I noticed papers up on mailboxes and posts, I went over to see what that was all about. It seems that on Sunday night, some new people in the neighborhood have moved in and have a rescue Greyhound named Connie. When he was walking Connie, a man with two dogs, one big and one small black dog, the little one broke out of his collar and attacked Connie. In the dark it appeared Connie was okay, but when they got home and took Connie's coat off, she wasn't okay. They had to rush her to the emergency vet, and he fixed her up, but it cost an arm and a leg. He posted a pic of her wounds and her wearing a cone. He stated in his message that whoever you are with the two dogs to get into contact with him, because he wanted the owner to see what happened, and perhaps help pay for the bill. I called this man, and told him I am familiar with the couple that have the two dogs he described, I also let him know they don't live in our neighborhood, I know about where they live and if I see either owner I will direct them to the message he has posted everywhere. They are nice people I told him, and I hope they do the right thing.
