Nothing quite like skating outside on a pond or outside rink, very peaceful
The best outdoor skating is at night, when it's gently snowing big fat flakes, there's a PA system playing music, and you're ice dancing with the guy you have a crush on. It's 7th grade, and the only thing that spoils it is the massive wipeout you take when you hit that big crack in the ice because you were skating backwards and watching his eyes and not your feet!!!! Ah, good times!

I found my skates during the big ramp up to Christmas, I'm going to try them one more time with the toe pics on, and if they still bother me, I'll have DH file them off. It's not like I do jumps and need them, I just do spins and glides. But mostly spins....I love to spin till I fall down.
Always best at night, sounds like fun, I haven't skated since I was a teenager. So many good times, skating and sledding and snow coasting. Remember those silver big round coasters with a hand grip on each side? Fun times

Speaking of damage  I was going to take down the lights and things my husband staple gunned to our garage, that man used so many staples that a tornado wouldn't have touched it. He is going to take it down, I have no idea what he was thinking, unless Ambien had something to do with it

I was thinking, OMG .. stapled lights to the garage?!

Then I laughed out loud when you mentioned Ambien.

Sorry. It is funny.

The man appreciated me calling, and I hope I did the right thing. Then I thought for a minute maybe I'm interferring and it isn't that couple with the two dogs. But I know it is, there are others around here with two dogs, but not one large brown golden retriever and one small black dog. Roxie the retriever is a sweetheart always kissing, and the black one was okay for awhile, but is now on the mean side. Zoe and I had a problem with the small one months ago, the little dog has become protective of Roxie and doesn't tolerate other dogs around. It's like a zoo around here

No rose, I think you did the right thing and wish there were more people like you in the world!
Thank-you, now I just hope the people see the message and do right by what their dog did.

Oh, and for anyone else going thru cancer and baldness (honestly, I'd rather have cancer than be bald, I'm so vain!) call your American Cancer Society. Ours has a wig bank, with free wigs. I'd put off going there, cos I thought they'd just have old lady wigs. Boy, was I wrong! The first wig out of the box was my hairstyle, just a little lighter blonde. Took me all of 2 minutes to try it on and say "Thanks, I'll take it!"

Oddly enough, my oncologist's office didn't refer me to this resource. They sent me to a snoot wig shop (snooty as in attitude, their shop is just a hole in the wall..and if you walk in and say "I don't want a full wig" they don't want to help you, I call them Crusty Creations!). so, yesterday at chemo, I told all the ladies there about the AM Cancer society place! And today, when I went in for my shot, the nurses complimented me highly, told me I looked just like before!!! Ahhh...that's all I wanted to hear!!

I'm glad you found a wig that you like!    an angelic monkey

well i was more than a little perterbed (sp?) last night when i got home and realized our fence had been tagged

so i called and reported it, i dont know if they will do anything but i called anyways
Do you mean with graffiti? There was a house in the next block that had that done by their front porch

yes, ours neighboors and corner house.....big black writing, and ofcourse my fence had to be the one that also said 666
666 I'm going to bet some teens were out and about thinking that was funny  They caught a bunch of teens that were breaking out car windows in our city and surrounding cities, just driving by and doing damage  Nothing more infuriating then people destroying your property. One of the neighbors had just gotten a new car, and their car was one that had damage, the baby car seats in the back seat were all full of glass.

there are alot of mexicans and little mexican gangs where i live there was one gang name on my fence and another gang name on the neighbors
Terrible, it is awful how some neighborhoods are all tagged up. We are lucky where we live we don't have that, just some random tagging now and again. But when we lived in Long Beach

I must be living in a cocoon or something. I had no idea what ScareyCarrie meant when she said "tagged."

I must be getting old.

Tevye if you are still here and haven't gotten any tums or such - drink vinegar - yep vinegar - it is supposed to help if you don't throw up first - I can't imagine having to do that but a friend of mine has acid reflux real bad, we were camping once and she ran out of tums so she drank some vinegar
Thanks, Mission. I've already been to the haircut lady (bangs trimmed on my new wig, I look like me again!! and it fits!), doctor for the Neulasta-it'll-kic-yer-asta injection, and Walgreens for Rolaids and paper cups. I'm going crazy looking for the little anti nausea bracelets my best friend's daughter and all her friends used for morning sickness. I'm not feeling queasy, maybe I won't this time...but I don't want to go thru that.
But, I always have vinegar on hand, I clean with it. Thanks for the tip!

Cool about your bangs and looking like you again!

You are one busy lady. Glad you got the rolaids!

He took it all down, spent awhile on the ladder. The wood frame around the garage, he used a staple gun to put up the lights, thing is they are icicle lights that are suppose to dangle. Ours didn't dangle, I told him make sure they are up good so with the wind they don't come down, I certainly didn't think he was going to take the dangle part and staple them on too the garage. When I came out to look at what he did with his fancy decorating, I said, oh that looks good, and went in the house laughing, shaking my head

Northern, I just wanted to thank you and the cold weather monkeys for telling me to skate on the pond.  an angelic monkey  I really thought I would fall through, but it was solid ice! I have skated on worse ice in a rink right after a hockey tournament even after they Zammed the ice. My whole family skated (mom and step dad didn't) but even 6 yo nephew did and we had so much fun. I want to go back tomorrow!!!
Woo Hoo! I woke up with terrible heartburn and no ant-acids, so figured JSM had left me some pretty pictures. Awesome! We have a pond-skating convert! Isn't it awesome? Next time on the snow machine, YOU drive, it's warmer. Looks like you're having fun. As for your SIL who thinks she's Julie Your Cruise Director, every trip has to have one. It's like there's so many people with different ideas for what to do, no one will step up and say "allright, we're going to go skating now because WE HAVE WASTED 2 HOURS OF THIS TRIP TALKING ABOUT WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO, AND WE'RE NOT DOING NOTHING!" (I usually take the Julie role on sister trips.)

You have fun..and if you do the sauna/snowbank thing, don't forget to wear your flip flops. You wouldn't want your feet to get cold! Monkey Devil!

Monkey Devil!  Hey Tevye.     Hope you are feeling better.

I'm hoping JSM has pictures of her family shopping, sort of like the pictures you see of the celebrities in Aspen shopping  I'll bet there are a lot of fun shops there.

Hi Brandi, I never heard that before either, maybe it's local to Florida what they call graffiti.

Around here we don't see that on fences but for years someone very talented has been painting huge murals on the sides of railroad cars.  Not gang stuff that I know of, very pretty, almost looks spray painted on.
