QM, My kids and my sister and brothers kids all have in-laws and some of them have a set time they have their Christmas gathering each year and will not work around anyone. My mom and I have always worked around everyone else's time schedule. So we tried the breakfast deal, and everyone just loved it, so we stuck with it. Plus my son and daughter have entirely different work schedules so we have to do some shuffling around at times.
My son is working tonight and my daughter has to pull the 3-11 shift tomorrow afternoon,she usually works weekend shift at the nursing home but they have to pull one shift either tomorrow or Friday, so the weekday workers can get some time with family.

I have 2 sons if that tells anyone anything....what do they say, a son is a son till he takes a wife.....ha ha! actually we are all very close..have wonderful DIL's thank God! but it seems that the DIL's parents get the 'choice' times on holidays as they have always had it so hubs and I have always filled in around everyone else....I wanted to change things this year to have Christmas Eve evening with them this year and that went over like a ton of bricks...so, we are back to having them in the afternoon...oh well...at least we are all together on Christmas day...I am just going to not rock the boat and keep having my afternoon/morning Christmas Eve...just easier than forcing a different time on the DIL's if they don't want that...know what I mean? not worth it to make waves....it all works..

I am so sorry for all of you who have lost your furbabies. I know how hard it was when we lost our doxie. We all cried for weeks. But they are all chasing butterflys in doggie heaven and having so much fun together.

Thank you Darla and yes they are happy in heaven - when we cross over the bridge they will be waiting for us at the fridge - that came from a poem our breeder sent us.  So sweet.

I figure that eventually it will get that way with my family as my moms grandkids start to get married. Hopefully we are still a few plus years away being the oldest is 20. But, time goes so fast it will be here before we know it.
I remember when they were all little, like yesterday! I love the breakfast idea alot!

I have a question for CBB...anyone seen her today? or else someone in here can answer this question... I will also ask over in the recipe thread...
for her fruit dessert salad, it calls for 2 pkgs. of Dream Whip....I had picked up 2 containers of Cool Whip...is that the same thing or is Dream Whip packages a completely different thing??? help! I am ready for step 2...

I think it would be the same Cookie. You just have to beat the Dream whip and the Cool Whip is ready to go.

I'm with Darla otherwise that would be a lot of whip cream.  Good Morning Cookie

It's always tough when you try to change routines with the family on holidays. But like you said, atleast you will see them Christmas day!

ok, I'm only reading part of this recipe but it sounds good. It might be something like what I'm making, but it's cool whip with fruit flavored jello and a container of fruit flavored yogurt. It's actually a very low fat and yummy desset. I should just go read your recipe in the recipe thread though!

George has always appeared somewhat perverse to me - the dirty old man type I don't know why but he is creepy looking.  I need to dig into those images too but was having a hard time reading them.........it is very interesting, another thing that came to mind was if he is into whoring around with women of this nature would he advance a move on Casey??
