Well, off to the bank, and then to the store to buy a present for my younger daughter's birthday  I would put what we are buying her, but I've seen her on here reading when I walk away.  Sorry Jess, I'm not putting what you are getting

Hahaha, no rose!

Good luck out there shopping today!

Hope you come back soon in one piece!

Yummm. My son would rather have standing rib roast, but we are having turkey since we had ham for Thanksgiving. LOL

Merry Christmas, puzzler!

Son and husband just got back from Target. Parking was atrocious, but we still have a lot of snow, so all the parking spots were not available.

Have fun!

Good Evening Monkeys and A Merry Christmas to all.

My Christmas is over and I am sooooooooooo glad. I am exhausted but had a wonderful time with the family. Don't know if I will be around to long tonight. Even with a two hour nap this afternoon, I am about ready to call it a night before 6:30 pm lol.

Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful time with family and friends. God Bless!

I will never say I want it to snow on Christmas ever again.

Hope all monkeys had a great day. I got off work at one, went to bank, Walmart, Big Lots, got to church at 3:15 so I could get a seat, didn't get home until almost six. My nerves can't take driving in this weather.

Oh poor JSM!

Sorry you had a taxing day. Maybe seeing Josef ready for New Years will brighten your day!

Hahaha!

Those are two of the three I left you in my thread!

I hope they make you laugh. Wink

Merry Christmas, JSM!

Merry Christmas to all my Monkey friends! I hope you all get what you want, whether that be a peaceful family gathering, a new bike, or just a little less stress.

As DH and I drove 40 miles to my mom and Big Family Christmas, we followed a horse trailer, complete with horse. Finally, about 10 miles from my mom's house I turned down Rehab (gotta have my happy music!) and said "Honey, you really didn't have to get me a pony for Christmas!" DH said "It's ok, we're leaving it at your mom's!" LOL!

It was great to be with my family. Most of them are very supportive and caring, in their own ways. However, my brother was going to give a speech ( he does it every year, it's always insprirational and funny) and my mom asked if we could pray for some special people. So, we prayed for the nephew and niece who couldn't be there, and my BIL who is dying of cirrosis and bad living, and his family...my sister who will end up just like him. I did not make the cut for prayers. I must say, that hurt me deeply (only my husband and my monkey friends are allowed to know this) I told DH that my mom must think that the stress of having a terminal illness and the family who has to deal with it is more important than HAVING A FRIKKIN' TERMINAL ILLNESS!!!

But, I was good. I didn't say anything to anyone about it. For one thing, it would have totally blown my brother's speech, and he's such a sweet man, I wouldn't do that. And, it would have proven to my nieces and nephews that I'm kinda down there on my mom's list of priorities. Well, when you have 7 kids, it's always the ones in trouble who get the attention. I know I've told you what a hell raiser I was, but I was smart enough to never get caught! Nothing went on my permanent record....in her eyes I was only an occasional problem child. Mostly, I was second in command.

I know, this is kind of a bummer of a message. My point is this: This Christmas, remember that people who appear to have it all under control, who appear to be taking life's lumps with grace and humour and strength also need prayers and positive thoughts. Thank God my brothers, all 3 of them, took the time to tell me how special I am. Thank God my nieces and nephews all think I'm cool, and thank God my grandchildren adore me (the feeling is mutual).

And now, to really goof this up, the woman who couldn't ask for prayers for me DID buy me a solar system model just like the ones I bought for my grandsons. We are planning a trip to Mars, and we all need the same equipment to make it work. We'll be doing it over Skype, so it's important that we all have the same references. (It's my secret way to help them with math and science...the fun way!) She knew I couldn't spend any more $, so she stepped up. This proves the love/hate relationship we have. I guess I can't really hold the prayer thing against her. Oh, carp, will I ever stop being 15 with her???!

So, JSM, when your fam is driving you bananas, remember my mom, and hug yours! And TOTALLY enjoy the pond skating!!

Thanks, Miss Bee! Merry Christmas to you also!
I am over my pity party, now I'm charging the battery packs for the Hummer and Silverado pick-em-up RC cars I got for grandson and son. Now the fun begins! Wrapping, cleaning, it's all good. (I really hope someone buys ME an RC car...I love those things! Oh well, at least my kids know how to share!)

Awww, Tevye    No pity party.  Believe it or not, I understand about family and the love/hate thing.  I found out a long time ago that people may not change.  And even if you as a person changes, they may not accept the change.  Some seem to like to keep us right there in the same category.  Change can be difficult for others to accept. The most important thing is that you care for yourself.  By the way, I wonder if you have any idea how much you are loved and how many care about you right here at SM?  I know it's not the same as Mom or Dad, but you see, you were born to them.  But with the monkeys, we choose to love you.  And love you, we do.   an angelic monkey
