Hope everyone has had some relaxation over the weekend. I know everyone was exhausted.

JSM, I just love to read your post. I sit here and just laugh. You make me feel like I am right there with you. I agree with you about a rental swimsuit...no way, no how. But I bet the hot springs would really help your knees. I would sure try them if I had the chance.
I need to get a few things done, so will be in and out today. Hope everyone has a great day.

Same here No Rose. Did you see that Northern told me to jump into a snowbank after getting out of the hot springs? 

Oh, you poor Southern girls! I guess you don't know that after sitting in a sauna, nekkid no less, you always go out and roll in the snow? It's great for your circulation....and it's even better if your bf is along!

Y'all are just messing with me Tevye. No way no how will I go roll in the snow after a sauna. 

JSM, swear to God it's true. "Course,  you have to be about 19 and wine must be involved. Actually, those darn yoopers don't have any age limits...but who wants to see a nekkid ol Yooper anyway?

I hate this internet connection here. Guess I am too old to go get in the stinky hot springs and run nekkid to the snowbank. I would probably slip on my way to the snow and break my hip.

Sorry to pop in on your convo like this, but I'm a little concerned.  Realized about 4:30 this a.m that I haven't seen CBB around in a little while.  Has anyone talked to her?  Did I miss something? I sincerely hope she's just been busy with Christmas activities.  I couldn't seem to find a recent post from her either.

Thanks everyone for your help.  I stayed up all night working on some stuff and just wanted to check in on Caylee's and Morgan's threads before bed.  Was doing a drive-by looking for CBB, but heading out now.  You all take good care and stay warm (working on that one still myself- LOL!).  Good night and God bless you!

Hi Ispy, my internet connection has been sporatic since before Christmas, no I haven't seen CBB in a while, but maybe she is on vacation. I hope she is okay, maybe the monkeys that have been here in other threads have seen her. I hope she is well. Good to see you and I LOVE your avatar. It is beautiful.

Northern, I just wanted to thank you and the cold weather monkeys for telling me to skate on the pond.    I really thought I would fall through, but it was solid ice! I have skated on worse ice in a rink right after a hockey tournament even after they Zammed the ice. My whole family skated (mom and step dad didn't) but even 6 yo nephew did and we had so much fun. I want to go back tomorrow!!!

Now I'm going to lay down and watch some silly stuff on tv, but of course I brought up a little stash of mini Muskateers and Milky Ways  Come the first no more junk  Everyone have a nice evening. I hope in the morning JSM has posted her skating pictures 

and I am about to go cut a big piece of cake, good lord. Night NoRose, see you tomorrow and hopefully we will in fact see some pics from JSM. I need to catch Northern Rose I need a beef stew recipe, that is one thing I have trouble with, I can't seem to master it. 

Stew

2lbs beef cubed
3 tbsp olive oil
4 cubes beef bullion
4 cups water
4 carrots cut into 1 inch pieces
4 stalks celery cut into 1 inch pieces
3 large potatoes washed and cubed into 1 inch pieces
1 large onion chopped
1 clove garlic minced
1 bay leaf

2 tsp cornstarch
2 tsp cold water


1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground pepper

In a large ziplock bag put in flour , salt pepper and beef and shake.  In a large skillet heat oil and put coated beef in and brown.  Add onions to soften then pour beef and onion into slow cooker.  Add bullion cubes and 2 cups of the water to skillet and stir to loosen all the bits at the bottom and dissolve bullion.  Pour into slow cooker.  Add, other 2 cups water and vegetables, garlic, bayleaf and parsley to slow cooker and put lid on and cook on low for 6 hours.  In a small cup put the 2 tsp water and add 2 tsp cornstarch.  Stir till not lumpy then stir this into crock pot.  Cook uncovered for 15 minutes or until it has boiled for at least 5 minutes.  Serve.

Goes well with Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits

1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cold butter
1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
3/4 cup buttermilk

In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add the cheese and toss. Stir in buttermilk just until moistened.
Turn onto a lightly floured surfaceand knead 8-10 times. Pat or roll to 1 in. thickness. Cut with a glass that Ash been dipped in flour (about 2-1/2-in). Place 1 in. apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 425 degrees F for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. 

While baking put 1/4 cup butter in the microwave to melt. I added 1/2 tsp of garlic powder, 1/8 tsp of garlic salt to the melted butter. Brush on biscuits when they are hot.

Serve warm.

Ponds are free,     so are our outdoor rinks up here.  Only have to pay for indoor skate time.

Thanks Northern. No not across the lake we started at the top of a mountain, went through trails all the way down to a clearing in the woods. I was scared at first, but then my stepbrother told me it was like riding on a four wheeler and remembering which way to lean I figured it out. The only thing about it is we should have gone earlier because by the time we got to the meadow at the bottom of the mountain, it was getting really dark and cold. But it was so much fun I am really glad I went. Now I have to get to bed, I am going to try and get up in order to see my mom, brother, his girlfriend, my nephew and stepdad (totally afraid of heights) ride in the hot air baloon.

I like to add parsnips and turnips if I have them in the fridge or any other veggie that looks to be at end of its life     Not been to a Red Lobster sorry.

I am upset just got back from animal Hospital. Had to take one of my kittens in and put down. The neighbors dog got her and took half of her little back off. But then to top it all off the charges were so dang hi. It ended up costing close to $300 bucks. That was bringing her home to bury her.
