BT and Sunfreak, Do either of you live anywhere near Douglasville in Georgia? My mom's sister, (my aunt) and my cousins live there.

Douglasville is outside the Perimeter(I-285) on I-20 West.  I'm outside the Perimeter up I-85 North.  A good 1.5 hour drive.

Kid in this photo to the far left behind the tire of His Dads coupe now owns the Black Coupe with Flames which is the same car that is in the earlier pics after repaint and other mods. I'm the guy leaning down to the tire.

Hey, Elaine. I'm just a country girl and don't live anywhere near the big city of Atlanta. In fact, I live north of Chattanooga, and Atlanta is a 2-hour drive away. That's just where we have to go to find entertainment when we get tired of watching the squirrels and possums.  Laughing

Yes, that is a 1931 Ford Model A Hot Rod that I built back in 1965 and owned until 2003 when I sold it to my nephew.

I love the flames painted on it. It's cool that you sold it to your nephew.  It sounds like he is following in your footsteps.

O/T - Carnut, what does it mean when someone says someone is a botter?  That they send spybots and try to hack computers?

Cruise was fine. Weather was nice n warm. Also got to discuss Natalee with a few folks. Set a few straight about the real details vs what they had heard or read. Especially the Dutch guy in the casino.   Laughing

That's what we love about you, Yap.  No messing around, just put it out there in a very sweet way and take no for an answer.

Well, on Botter, think that can be several definitions because there are several types of 'Bots' roveing around the net.

Webbots, Robots, and Spybots.

The most common are the Webbots/Robots/Spyders which have around since day one of the net and are utilized by all the various Search Engine Sites to gather info for cataloging and making available in their Search Pages.

The Spybot came around awhile back and was used for various purposes.
Spybots originally were provided for marketing purposes by vendors who wanted to know what sites were getting hit and what content was being viewed so that the vendors could provide more directed advertisements to surfers.

Then the Hackers realized that the spybots could be used for their purposes as well, from finding machines open to be exploited with control software so that a users machine could be commandeered to do various things remotely like sending out spam, working with other machines in DDOS attacks and providing various marketing schemes for the Hackers to sell.

Generally Hackers use the Spygots now adays to gather a list of commandeered machines and then sell the use of those machines for various purposes to the highest bidder. Kinda like in the old days when Hackers gather email lists and sold them to spammers.

Usually Hackers are just trying to make use of the machines they get control of for group activities and aren't really into accessing the machines to mess them up or make life difficult for the owner because they then loose the use of the machine when discovered.

The biggest headaches for most individuals are Phishing scam emails that solicit personal info and exploits posted on websites to get into a machine to install adware or to gather personal info for exploitation.

Anyhow that's my limited understanding on the Botter thing.
