Prison guard accused in Rosenberg slayings
Manhunt under way after his wife and mother-in-law are stabbed to death

HOUSTON CHRONICLE

A multi-state manhunt is under way for a Texas prison guard who is accused in the double murder of his
wife and mother-in-law, who were stabbed in front of children in Rosenberg early Sunday, officials said.

Authorities are looking for Albert James Turner, 44, who faces murder charges, said Lt. Colin Davidson
 of Rosenberg police.

Eyewitnesses, including a child who called 911, identified Turner as the killer, said Davidson. The sound
of children screaming can be heard in the background of the call.

“We have a prison guard who may have committed two homicides,” Davidson said. “He knows what happens in prison.”

Turner should be considered armed and dangerous, police said, emphasizing the man's large stature of
6 feet 1 inch tall and 270 pounds. He could be traveling in his maroon Honda Accord, with Texas plate 494-JFY
and possibly wearing a gray Texas Department of Correction detention officer uniform.

He may be headed across the I-10 corridor to the Orlando area, where he has family, officials said.

The two victims – 66-year-old Betty Jo Frank and 39-year-old Keitha Frank Turner – respectively are the wife
and daughter of a prominent Rosenberg preacher, Gene Frank, of Living Waters Church, Davidson said.

The Franks, Turners and at least two grandchildren were at the Franks' home in the 2400 block of Chestnut when
an argument escalated into violence, Davidson said.

Anyone with information is urged to call Rosenberg police at 281-342-5566.

Car of Texas Prison Guard Accused of Killing Wife, Mother-in-Law Found in Georgia River

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

Albert James Turner

ROSENBERG, Texas —  The search for a Texas prison guard accused of stabbing his wife and mother-in-law to death is now focused in Georgia after his car was found there.

Rosenberg police Lt. Colin Davidson said Tuesday that the Honda belonging to Albert James Turner was found partially submerged in the Chattahoochee River in Cobb County and that authorities there are on the scene.

Turner, 44, faces murder charges after an argument at the suburban Houston home of his in-laws turned violent early Sunday, Davidson said. He said the women were killed in front of at least two children, including one who called 911.

Davidson had alerted authorities along Interstate 10 because Turner has family near Orlando, Fla.
