Search continues for 8 month-old, but not in Victoria

Tempe, Ariz. police department continue search for 8 month old, Gabriel Johnson with San Antonio police department.

Despite initial reports, Tempe police said the baby's mother Elizabeth Johnson has not been in Victoria.

"We are looking at data of where she went and that does not seem to be accurate," said Kim Hale, commander for the Tempe police department, of rumors of Victoria being a possible location of where the child could be.

Sgt. Steve Carbajal, media relations for Tempe Police, said the case started on Dec. 27 when the baby's father, Logan McQueary, contacted police after receiving threats from Johnson toward the son.

Hale said the last sighting of the child was with his mother in San Antonio.

The 8-month-old's mother was arrested in Florida on Dec. 30, but has not been helpful to police, Hale said.

$5,000 Reward Offered for Information about Missing Baby (With video)

PHOENIX - A reward of $5,000 is now being offered for information that leads to the return of a missing baby from Tempe.

The baby's mother, Elizabeth Johnson, is in a Phoenix jail.  She's not talking.

Here's another interesting twist in the story:  Before fleeing Arizona, Johnson filed a petition seeking paternity tests.  Both for 8-month-old Gabriel Johnson's father, Logan McQueary and another man, Craig Cherry.

There is an unusual connection between Cherry and the Scottsdale couple, Jack and Tammy Smith who wanted to adopt Gabriel.

"Craig Cherry did not know Elizabeth, he is not the father of the child according to Craig.  And a matter of fact Craig revealed to us that he is a blood relative of Tammy Smith." said Kim Hale of the Tempe Police Department.

Tempe police believe the Smiths have not told them everything they know about the missing boy.

I belong to Ancestry.com. All but one of the Craig Cherry's they have is Craig V. Cherry born July 1954. (Could be Craig B. Cherry's dad). The only one listed as just Craig Cherry has an address from 1992, and that is all they have for him. Even if it is Craig B., I doubt if it is his address now.

OMG, that's really wierd! I had a baby about to be born 4 days after we got Gabriel that we were set up to start the adoption process with through Agape Adoption Agency and then all this happened and the other family asked us for money, but we weren't going to do anything against the law, so we told them we couldn't adopt their baby! Now we are dealing with this, all because we DID do the right thing according to what we were told!

BTW, he did not sign the birth certificate and we found out after the adoption that they were never legally married anyway.About Janet, I did not know that about her! And she called to beg her to come back here to go to court!

This lady really has issues with males, especially father figures. I would assume it has to do with her own abuse she supposedly suffered as a child she has written about. What she needs to realize is sometimes it is mothers who abuse and it is fathers who protect. What is the Difference Between a Pathological, a Compulsive, a Chronic, and a Habitual Liar?

Pathological Liar


A pathological liar is usually defined as someone who lies incessantly to get their way and does so with little concern for others. Compulsive Liar


A compulsive liar is defined as someone who lies out of habit. Lying is their normal and reflexive way of responding to questions. Compulsive liars bend the truth about everything, large and small. For a compulsive liar, telling the truth is very awkward and uncomfortable while lying feels right. Compulsive lying is usually thought to develop in early childhood, due to being placed in an environment where lying was necessary. For the most part, compulsive liars are not overly manipulative and cunning (see, Pathological Liar), rather they simply lie out of habit - an automatic response which is hard to break and one that takes its toll on a relationship (see, how to cope with a compulsive liar).
