Md. man pleads guilty to prostituting minors
January 3, 2010 - 2:58pm

WASHINGTON - A Maryland man plead guilty to taking four minors across state lines for prostitution. Shelby Lewis, 42, of Maryland prostituted a girl, 12, for two years while he was her official guardian. He also prostituted 3 other minor girls, a 13 year old for three years, a 16 year old for three weeks and a 14 year old for for three days.

Lewis met the girls on the street and had them work in both Maryland and D.C.

Lewis was caught as part of an undercover police sting in May. D.C. Police arrested two girls, 14 and 16, for prostitution near 14th St. and K St. in Northwest.

One girl, 13, was found after she was reported missing to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

All the girls lived in Temple Hills, Md., with Lewis and his biological children as well as two other adult prostitutes.  Lewis faces 15-20 years in prison.

Sadly, I think you're probably right about how little time Lewis will end up serving, Nut    He'll be back at it again.  There's too much money to be made and not enough for him to lose.
