Morning Monkeys, just spoke to my friend, she still hasn't heard anything from her family. She seems more upbeat today, but she is still very sad and asked me to keep praying. Just thought I would give you an update.

Continued prayers for your friend.  All the communications lines are in shambles over there so it could be something that simple as the reason your friend has not heard from her family. 

Thanks Northern, I have told her I have friends all over the US and Canada praying for her. She said she is blessed and thank you.

Well heck, have your hubby come here and work on my tub  Does he fix ceilings also?   

   Yes,he can do it all.On our street we have plumbers,carpenters,auto repair,steel workers.we should fire up the Witless News jet.

It's 80 degrees, the wind is blowing something awful, I have now swept leaves from the driveway and picked up leaves from the backyard three times. Now the gardeners are cutting a bunch of the pine tree branches from all the pine trees on the other side of my fence. I have asked for this to be done for years, didn't even need to ask anymore, they picked a really crappy day to do this. I've been looking out my bedroom window like Gladys Kravitz  I have branches in my yard, and I was watching and that grabber thing he is using grabbed one of my palm trees instead of the pine tree, I'm afraid to see what damage that is. And Zoe is nuts from the wind and power saw noise. Would it be too much to ask, just for one peaceful day, I will never ask again, just one peaceful day

Thank-you Trimm, I'll go check. I have a plumber coming Sat morning to fix a leak in my bathtub, which is causing the ceiling down below it to get brownish colored, and then that needs to be fixed. I'm thankful the plumber is a good friend of my neighbor, so he won't charge us an arm and a leg to fix it.  Good Morning Everyone.

Canada has given $5mil to the Haiti relief fund and has announcing that that the govt will match dollar for dollar any funds that Canadians donate to help organizations on top of it up to $100million.  We have also sent two of our military ships loaded with supplies, personnel and search and rescue equipment as well as our Dart team.  Our Prime Minister also ordered two hours after the earthquake to send search and rescue  and  they were the first team to arrive in Haiti.  He took heat from the opposition as protocol would be that he wait until he received an official request for help.  His response was he was not waiting for the communications lines that are surely all down to be fixed before he sent help.  They need help and need it now, he was not waiting on protocol and was sure Haiti would  understand.   

This morning a C-17 transport plane left full of medical supplies and two search and rescue helicopters.

I am so happy to be Canadian right now.  (and our Gov't is not even in session right now!)

  I bet it is great to be Canadian!! I would like to kiss the PM right now. My brain is fried right now, can't think of his name but I have always thought he was a good guy. I will pass it on to my friend.

There is no need to wait for protocol. Glad the PM didn't.
