My town is not worth bombing. IF you did bomb my town, it would equal an economic boost, what with all the media dudes flying in so they could watch us lying about and screaming for "help, somebody help us poor idiots who don't know how to take care of ourselves!" -which of course we wouldn't say, as we do take care of ourselves very well, thank you very much.

Also, dumbazz dude, when our over-testosteron-ated SWAT, ATF, and SP Bomb squad get done with ya, our local jail is gonna have a field day with you! You may consider yourself lucky that you won't end up in the pokey where I work, I've got these new boots,see....

Oh, yeah, and whatever you were smoking from California? It's not doing a thing for ya, dude!

"Security crews are on scene at Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City, after a man from California claims to have a bomb on the United Express flight from Chicago.

Officials tell 7 & 4 News the passenger was locked in the bathroom saying he had an explosive device.

The suspect was arrested when the plane landed and all other passengers are safe.  The passengers were taken away in vans to another location once the plane landed. A bomb sniffing dog is being brought in to check the plane.

Officials are interviewing the flight crew and passengers at this time.  When the interviews are complete the suspect will be taken to the Traverse City Police Department.

7 & 4 News is on the scene and will bring more information as details are released."

TRAVERSE CITY (AP) -- A government official says a man was arrested at a northern Michigan airport after making a bomb threat on a commercial flight.

No bomb was found. The official says the man was taken off the plane at the Traverse City, Mich., airport on Friday after making the threat. The official wasn't authorized to speak publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Transportation Security Administration says the passenger entered the bathroom as the Skywest Airlines flight from Chicago as it was approaching the Cherry Capital Airport. The TSA says the passenger is currently being questioned and the airport temporarily suspended operations.

Charlotte Crosby of Traverse City says her husband was on the plane. He called her on his cell phone to say he and other passengers were being questioned.

Only problem I have with this story is that we are not serviced by SkyWest. But hey, if the terrorists want to book all their flights on SkyWest, it's ok by me!

Loc al update: per Sheriff and airport control: 11 passengers, 3 crew...28 yr old Calif resident, bomb dog, article in bathroom, but no explosives onboard. Airport closed for 30 mins, this whole incident, from report to final press conference: 3.5 hours. That's the way we do it here, we have other things to do, it's not snowing, it's supposed to get into the 40's this weekend, we're getting reading to pollute the atmosphere with our snowmachines and cross country skis and skating!

FYI, talked to my friend, she hasn't slept in 3 days. I told her to take a pill to sleep, she promised me should would tonight. She is in contact with a mercy group in Haiti trying to info about her family. She said to thank all the monkeys for their continued prayers, for her and her family. 

Okay, hope you have a great afternoon. I was supposed to skate today, but I doubt I will get out of here on time. Arrrgggghhhhhhh

That poor lady needs some rest, I sure hope she hears something very soon

She just promised me she would do nothing but rest this weekend.

That's good to hear.  I have no idea what we called those mats that we slept on in kindergarten, I do remember when it was time to get up, the teacher would tap one of the kids and then give the kid a wand, and then the kid would go tap each kid on the shoulder and that would mean it was time to get up  It was a big deal for me when I was the lucky kid to have the wand  Didn't take much to get me happy I guess.

Of course you haven't. Why? Because we are 6 hours north of Detroit, and everyone thinks Michigan consists of Detroit...whose suburbs contain the largest population of Muslims outside the Mid-East. Nobody knows where we are, and I like it like that! Stupid guy, doesn't he realize if he bombs a commuter plane (18 passenger prolly), he's only gonna get 32 virgins...and we don't have 32 virgins left in our area!!!!

OMG Tevye - that is so funny. I am in Michigan too and when I went to a meeting today with one of our potential governor candidates he said he would love to figure out how to make people realize that Michigan is more than Detroit!  I think Traverse is a great area!

Michigan is a great state, when I think of Michigan I think of the Iron Mountain area and around there, where my grandparents lived.

don't know if I had mentioned it here or not but on February 11th we will welcome a new baby grand daughter...that makes 5 grand daughters and 3 grand sons....GIRLS RULE !

  Hey Monkeys.Thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers.Little GS is fine.     They removed what apparently seemed to be a piece of foam from his nap pad that he uses at school.Bigger than a Q-tip end.  I guess that means he was not napping.     He never told anyone about it.He is the quiet one.
Anyway he feels fine and wanted a soft taco.Now Hubby is gone to get him a new nap pad.

Trimm, glad everything came out (!) ok! Don't tell GS, but I had to use the pink rosary, sis didn't get here in time to help locate the rest (she "puts stuff away" in the weirdest places!)

I think my local airport is safe, and am glad I fly out of Chicago...that way my face won't show up in my hometown paper when I go ballistic about flying from Anchorage to Chicago with only Sprite and water to drink.

  Did I miss something Tevye, why are you only drinking sprite and water? Have they banned alcohol on flights? Or are you on the wagon?

After reading Brandi's post I was trying to remember if we even had a mat to sleep on in preschool. I can imagine getting the wand was a big deal. In 2nd grade, we got to choose a crown if we were good that day, seems like I never got to wear a crown except maybe on my birthday. I can still remember that cool crown all glittered up, with plastic gems. It was awesome.
