Morning all..

Rosie...is that your new micro that the fire started in? is it ok? that must have been scary!

on a sad note...yesterday on the news they showed where rescuers were freeing an 11 yr old girl from the rubble  in Haiti...they were giving her food and water and she was talking with them...her right leg was stuck ...finally got her out...it was a wonderful moment...but then, later on the news they reported that she had died because of lack of doctor care..they said that she didn't need to die...she could have lived if the conditions were favorable medically...that is a heartbreaker...I don't think that we need to see things like that necessarily and to see the bodies laying on the ground and stacked up...these people are given no dignity even in their deaths..and think of the people of these loved ones who are watching desperately to see a glimpse of their loved ones and they see this stuff! why is the news showing the world this stuff? we know that it is bad over there...we know that they are already suffering...wasn't it not allowed to show the devastation of Katrina as far as bodies and the injured? why are we filming the plight of the Haitians when we didn't want our own people shown like that? what say you all about this? I am really mad..I don't want to see these people in their grief and their suffering...let them have their dignity I say!

Cookie, sad to say, but it's all about the $$$$. The media and politicoes figure if we see bodies, we'll send money. Mind you, the Haitian government wants MONEY and not stuff. That's money just to line their pockets. If anyone is sending money, I hope you are sending it to private charities....they manage their money a lot better.

And as for seeing the bodies, well, that's reality and I guess we need to see that too. We did see bodies from Katrina, heck, we're still hearing about how New Orleans is trying to come back. Ever notice we hear nothing about Mississippi? They were hurt worse than NO, but they just took care of it and got on with their lives. Sorry, I'm a little jaded.

I agree Cookie - it is disturbing seeing all of the deceased and the wounded it makes me cringe - I made the same comment last night to my husband and he had a different take - he said the coverage is out of compassion to show the magnitude of devastation and just how important it is to get them the help they need.  Fox had a reporter on last night who was actually going from area to area to find help for a man with a badly injured foot but couldn't find anyone who could help - it made me cry.  I am not sure the graphic coverage is necessary either one can't help but feel so damn helpless watching this - it makes me want to go there and do whatever I could to help those poor people.

Good morning and I hope everyone has a good day    Mine started out with a real bang. Walked Zoe, came home, put her chicken on a paper plate, covered it put it in microwave oven like every morning to heat it up. Started the oven and and plate started on fire, I started screaming, the dog ran upstairs to hide. I opened it up, and like a dumbazz started blowing at it to stop the fire. Ashes came rolling out on me. I was going to get my haircut today, almost didn't need to the ashes almost did that for me. I just want to know, what did I do in a past life to bring on all the bad luck I have in this lifetime?  And it's 6:30am, and I have a ton of Irish Creme in my coffee 

NoRose WTH - you are not having any luck at all lately especially with microwave ovens.  Thank goodness it didn't start a fire.  You better grab some breakfast to go along with that Bailey's and coffee.

I'm going to Home Depot to order a new one to be installed over the stove, enough of this already. And thank-you I'll grab some of this breakfast, now I'm hungry 

You will love having one over your stove.  I love mine!

I do, the one over my stove is the one broke, so instead of fixing it, just rip it down and put a new one up.

You are welcome Tevye, trust me if I could I would come to you and make you a spread like this especially on your treatment weekend.  I hope you are doing ok today - lay low and do whatever your heart desires girl!  I know you hate to count these treatments but how many more before you have kicked this damn thing to the curb?  I need to plan your celebration for your C free party.

I do, the one over my stove is the one broke, so instead of fixing it, just rip it down and put a new one up.

Sounds like a good plan - besides that they are relatively inexpensive now - it may cost almost as much to repair the old one as it would to get new then you know you have all new and nothing else might go wrong.

I have 2 more chemos, then radiation, then pills. I don't know when it all ends, I just know that we are lucky enough on the timing that I can get some major internship hours in at the jail before the radioation tiredness catches up with me!

The US Champsionship is on at 4:30 EST today, NBC's big channel. Finally! YOu'd think with them having the Olympics, they'd push more pre-Olympic stuff on us! Oh well, hope I'm awake for it, if not, DVR to the rescue!

We are suppose to get 20 inches alone this week of rain, not including the storms that are coming the next week. We live in the foothills so there should be plenty of flooding to enjoy next week. As they say when it rains it pours

Hello all, thought I would pop in for a moment or two and say hello.
Tevye, just hang in there.
I'm on those pills and have been since Nov 27 and I am in the middle  ( ten done ) of the rads.
I felt the effects of the rads yesterday, and that was the tenth one.
I've been at work five days a week most of the time. Between work, appointments and treatments, I have had no spare time and I am getting actually bored with all of this.
My life is revolving around this illness right now, but that is only going to be for another two weeks or so.
I caught a break and chemo wasn't recommended for me right now.

I'm so Happy for you!! Sounds like you're just breezin' thru this carp, good for you!! How are the pills working out for you? They said I'll have to take them for like 5 years....carp, 5 years of menopause when I already did that 25 years ago...my poor husband!!

Thank you Janet. I have the CD of you raise me up , Josh Groban. A very emotional song and lyrics. After all this physical stuff is done, I am going to go for a few sessions to deal with the emotional stuff. And figure out the rest of my life. Before I got sick alot of my time was spent in stuff and with people that weren't making me very happy. I am planning on looking for a new job, still with the feds because I need the health care benefits, but a different organization would do me nicely until I retire. 
Four hundred persons where I work are losing their jobs, two hundered and forty March 31
and the rest over the next year. I had to at this stage in my life compete for my own job.
I did and was successful, but the way this was done by the management wasn't a good thing. Several best work buddies of mine have to leave or have left and it just isn't a happy place and it will take five years for it to get better there.

The 9 year-old girl, Markisha Jackson who went missing in Jacksonville, FL yesterday was just found safe!!!

Tevye, I have been very emotional recently, but I don't think it is the pills. I have about an hour a day in the evening where I feel very warm. I take ARIMITEX. The pharmacy where I get them has a pharmacist that I know and he said that the side effects do not happen to most women. I go to that drugstore becasue of the pharmacist. I don't take a thing without having him look stuff up and talk to me about it. Ladies at my work take it and have been for a while, they say that after a month or three your body adjusts and it's just a pill to take.
I pay 189.00 cdn for them, I could shop for a cheaper deal, but I am just leaving it for now. and I would never get anything like that over the internet. The patent expires this year, so when it goes generic it will be cheaper.
I am not breezing thru this in reality, I am pretending this isn't happening. While they do their carp to me, I am sitting on a leafy hill outside of Negril in Jamaica. I am not smoking anything lol , just sitting and enjoying.
I also skate and swim in my mind.
I can hardly wait for the Olympics so I can watch the skating.
I went out last night with a neighbour lady who lives here who just finished her stuff two weeks ago. She is fully retired and older than me and she is thinking, now what ? I have seen her almost every day for the past few months and the past two weeks have been amazing to see how much better she looks. Her color is great and her face doesn't look as drawn.
