Expecting 10-12" of snow starting after midnight here, lasting through Sat. night.

That's a lot of snow (again) for this part of VA. LOL

We are all prepared though. I am just glad these two major snowstorms decided to wait for the weekend so hubby doesn't have to go try to work in it.

Lots of the nation getting ice/snow this weekend.

No!Really,I have never seen that much snow in real life.     Remember I am a Southerngirl.Chit,if it flurries these people go crazy.

Trimm and Brandi, I just saw that much snow for the first time on vacation. I don't like it.      If that happened here, Josef better learn to pee off the balcony.

Dinner is ready. Gonna watch the next episode of The Wire while we eat.

Never saw it on TV, but I have all 6 seasons on DVD .. watching it one by one. We're on #9 of season one.

Pizza Man just left. Got me a large thin crust with pepperoni, beef and black olives, plus wings and ranch dressing. I need some comfort food.

The groomer at daycare felt Josef's knot in his chest and told me she thinks it is nothing to worry about. But I could tell once she felt it that she had a worried look on her face. She asked if he was coming to daycare tomorrow because she would have the vet check it out. I pray she is right. 

   Sweet Josef.I bet he is okay.

  I pray he is. They had a birthday party for one of the dogs today and there were two dachshunds and the puppy was so sweet. They are long haired and speckeled. (black with grey and brown spots). I only wish Josef could go to the party instead of having to get a cupcake after the party. 

Digger probably couldn't go to a party either.He is terrible.

We are getting that much snow this weekend as well.  Supposed to start tomorrow and end on Monday.

Pizza Man just left. Got me a large thin crust with pepperoni, beef and black olives, plus wings and ranch dressing. I need some comfort food.

I made meatloaf (is in the oven) and buttered potatoes, real butter tonight, a treat. Gonna have corn (tried the Steamers yet? I like 'em!) and green beans for dinner.

Gotta eat well before a winter storm. LOL

I am not feeling well so ordered Chinese -wonton soup, chicken kung po, stir fried rice, beef with black bean sauce, chicken and cashews and lemon chicken. I want leftovers for the weekend so I can cocoon.

That would be nice.  She has been working on this since November as it is for a science fair.  I have a laser cutter that I use for scrap booking that we are cutting all the letters out for her display as well printing her pictures on my photo printer.  On Sunday my kitchen gets converted into a lab with the equipment the school lent  her that she is building a still with.  If I  have a kitchen and windows in my house after she is done cooking with her still I will be surprised.  She is then making a time lapse video from the pictures that have been taken every 5 minus with a fixed webcam of her experiment "brewing" and compile that to DVD to play for the judges as well.  I am proof reading her written material right now

Good morning Monkeys - Hot Toddies for everyone today, it is 11 below here today.  Brandi I hope you stay safe with all that snow - good day to stay holed up and warm.  I am having family in for dinner today so I need to get my arse in gear and start cooking.  I hope you all have a wonderful day.  JSM I hope all turns out well with Josef and Northern Rose it sounds like you might need to sit and relax tonight with one of these hot toddies.

Well, it's Saturday. Remember when I used to post picture of the TARDIS and take ya'll on a ride thru the universe? Sorry kids, not today. Today is paper writing in my jammies day. So, of course, I need your help.

My paper is on incarcerated fathers and how I'm working on helping them to either stay connected or reconnect with their kids. I will have very little to say about the mothers...other than if they facilitate communications between dads and kids. My question is: does anyone here have any experience with this? Of course, this may not be a topic you wish to discuss publicly. If you have a story and you'd like to share it with me, you can email Klaas for my email. As usual, all will be kept confidential.

I guess what I'm looking for is info about if your kids' dad went to jail, did he write? did you let the kids read the letters? did it help them deal with his absence? Or did you keep the letters from the kids? Also, your marital status at the time would be helpful. And, of course, how it all worked out in the end. Was it worth it? did it help the kids to know that their dad still cared enough about them to keep in contact? did it help you to know that in a long-distance sort of way, you were still co-parenting?

(I bet you all will be as glad when I finish this degree as I will! The questions I come up with!)
