I can not wait to lay down but I am helping my daughter get her science fair display ready.  It is going to be a long evening and weekend.
Do you need me to write a note to your daughter about the virtues of doing her own schoolwork and taking good care of Mommy? When I wake up tomorrow, I'll be happy to.

That would be nice.  She has been working on this since November as it is for a science fair.  I have a laser cutter that I use for scrap booking that we are cutting all the letters out for her display as well printing her pictures on my photo printer.  On Sunday my kitchen gets converted into a lab with the equipment the school lent  her that she is building a still with.  If I  have a kitchen and windows in my house after she is done cooking with her still I will be surprised.  She is then making a time lapse video from the pictures that have been taken every 5 minus with a fixed webcam of her experiment "brewing" and compile that to DVD to play for the judges as well.  I am proof reading her written material right now
OK, she's building a still. That's good, berry berry good! You will, of course, be able to taste test the results? right? Hope the house insurance is paid up! She sounds like a very smart girl, lucky you! But you rest....if she can figure out how to build a still, she can operate one of those Cricut machines!

Yup building a still but the results are not drinkable.  She is proving you can make ethanol from your lawn clippings rather then wasting a food source by using corn as well that the current method of making corn ethanol is a wash when it comes to saving the environment as it takes gas machines to plant and harvest the crops and 3 barrels of natural gas to produce one barrel of corn ethanol.   One of her big brothers has lent her a small 5cc model airplane motor to prove her gas is good.....if we do not blow up the house tomorrow first of course.
How AWESOME is that Northern. I always thought there was some other way to make ethanol than using corn. Your daughter is a genius!!!! I hope you are feeling better tonight.  an angelic monkey I can't wait to hear that she wins the grand prize.

Not feeling much better.  I walked into walls in the house twice today and my balance is way off. Drove to the bank this morning and should not have been driving so bailed on groceries and came home.  Think I may have an ear infection to go along with the sinus infection.   This is for the school fair and if she does well enough in judging will go on to the regionals.

There is a girl from Fort Worth that has been missing for a long time on AMW tonight. I saw her dad on the news tonight. He takes all his vacation and sick time to go looking for her. I am not sure if she is on SM, but I pray they find her. She was date raped and then turned to drugs. So very sad.

Hi Monkeys!

JSM - so glad Josef's tests are coming out OK.  I'm sure the next results you get back will be good too.

Brandi - Your Brandi is beautiful.  She looks like a really sweet pooch.

No Rose - Please get as much rest as you can.  Bronchitis can really knock you down.

It's so cold here this weekend.  I went grocery shopping after work last night.  I made sloppy joes and tuna casserole this morning so I'd have food this week...and guess what?  I've been eating non-stop since.     I'm thinking about making chocolate cupcakes now - but that would be really bad.

Maybe I'll just pour another glass of wine and call one of my cats up on my lap.

Hey numbersgirl!

Thanks for your Brandi comments!

Yum .. tuna casserole and sloppy joes! It's 4:44 AM and I can't decide which I'd like to munch on if I had those at my house right now. LOL

Going back to bed.

I just love those old ads also  The beret one made me laugh, I remember getting an orange one  in the eighth grade, I really thought I was something else

I always wanted a beret and never got one as there were more important things to spend on. Got my first Barbie from my hubby when I was 35.  I only had a Skipper and my mom found her tossed out.  She cleaned her up and made her a bunch of clothes for her.
an angelic monkey My mom use to knit clothes for Barbi, and my grandma and a friend of theirs would sew Barbie clothes for me. I got some of the store bought Barbie clothes sometimes.

I didn't play with Barbies. All mine were like brand new and passed down to my sister.I was like...     now way.
My Dad came back from Army camp one summer and brought me a boy doll that was wearing boxing gloves and had a black eye and I was like
Went from that to football. My poor mother.   Monkey Devil!

I had to laugh at this.  I always climbed the tree in our back yard.  My Mom said she thought I was a monkey until I was 12 years old.  I was predestined.  Here I am again, just the way I started--a monkey!

Well, it's Saturday. Remember when I used to post picture of the TARDIS and take ya'll on a ride thru the universe? Sorry kids, not today. Today is paper writing in my jammies day. So, of course, I need your help.

My paper is on incarcerated fathers and how I'm working on helping them to either stay connected or reconnect with their kids. I will have very little to say about the mothers...other than if they facilitate communications between dads and kids. My question is: does anyone here have any experience with this? Of course, this may not be a topic you wish to discuss publicly. If you have a story and you'd like to share it with me, you can email Klaas for my email. As usual, all will be kept confidential.

I guess what I'm looking for is info about if your kids' dad went to jail, did he write? did you let the kids read the letters? did it help them deal with his absence? Or did you keep the letters from the kids? Also, your marital status at the time would be helpful. And, of course, how it all worked out in the end. Was it worth it? did it help the kids to know that their dad still cared enough about them to keep in contact? did it help you to know that in a long-distance sort of way, you were still co-parenting?

(I bet you all will be as glad when I finish this degree as I will! The questions I come up with!)

Oh, yeah, and the music for this paper is the opening lines to John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy":

Close your eyes,
Have no fear,
The monster’s gone,
He's on the run
And your daddy's here,      John Lennon: Double Fantasy (1980)

Yep, I'm still beginning all my papers with lyrics, and nope, none of the profs OR APA knows just quite the right way to format it..(I'm so mean!)
This will be an interesting paper Tevye - I wish I could offer some insight but I haven't had any experience with this type of situation but I sure look forward to hearing about what you learn.

Tevye I have no experience on that topic what so ever, but I do love your choice of music
Why thank you, ma'am! The last 2 papers were with Rehab lyrics (yep, I wrote a paper about the Bible using rap lyrics!), so I thought it was time to go back to the classics. Also, this song is my son's fave for his son, and mine for him!

Sorry (or rather thankful) LOL .. but I have no experience with that either.

Good luck with your paper and enjoy pajama day!

Here's how my day is going. Just took these pics (it is still snowing, suppposed to snow all day and night) of my bistro set on the deck and my Mountaineer.

Mission, be sure to take a look! It's 20° F and going down to 12° F tonight. Brrrrrrrr.  But husband reports (he is the shoveler) that the snow is very light and dry compared to the last big dump we got in December.

The shoveler is in front of my car making sure i got a picture of him. LOL

Wow Brandi you all got nailed - at least it is the light and fluffy kind - it makes it a bit easier to shovel. Thank you for the pics - when it snows like that in your area all you can do is stay in and stay safe.

Afternoon Monkeys. Hope you are all staying warm and the snow lets up.

Just got back from the vet and they aspirated Josef's mass in his chest. It is more than likely 100% a lipoma because the vet said it was fatty liquid that came out.  They did blood work, x-rays, poop test all for the low, low price of $537.99  OUCH! Oh well, luckily I had the money so I wanted to get every test done now instead of waiting. I will get the lab results back tomorrow on his urine and blood work. Last time they thought he may have Cushings, so that is the only thing I am worried that the liver test comes back higher.

Anyways, just wanted to thank you all for your prayers and kind words while I was a basket case.  You monkeys ROCK!!!!
Expensive trip to the vet but they are so worth it.  I am glad to hear it was a lipoma and hope the remaining tests come back with no issues - I will be thinking about you and Josef - let us know as soon as you find out.  an angelic monkey

I just love watching the pups, those two little white pups are so darn cute. All of the pups are so cute, I really need to get something done, was suppose to go to Home Depot, but don't think I can drag myself around the store. I thought that I was feeling better, then I went to fast up the stairs, and that just wore me out.
Careful not to overdo - I hope you feel better today.  an angelic monkey

Northern Rose take care of yourself - I hope you get to feeling better real soon.  an angelic monkey

Actor Rip Torn arrested, charged with breaking into local bank with loaded gun
Sounds like he has a history of getting ripped - I think the guy needs some serious help.

That is funny your mom called you a monkey.
