Good night No Rose, hope you get to feeling better

Good night JSM and Josef!

We got allowances, plus we did odd jobs and I babysat mostly for my friend who passed away last week. Thought I was rich when I got $3.00 for babysitting for 4 hours.
But man you could buy all kinds of stuff with $3.00. Gas was 18 cent a gallon , movie was 15 cent . I remember when Mountain Dews and Frito's came out. Could get both for 11 cents. And a dime would buy a bag full of candy.

Yup! I felt rich when I got $1.50 from babysitting. Cost about that much for batteries for my transistor radio! And I had to pay for those. I also remember when Mountain Dew and Frito's came out. I remember Frito's being in a nickel bag.

This is exactly what my radio looked like! heh

I listened to it under my pillow at night when I was supposed to be sleeping. Those triangles in the dial denote civil defense stations to tune to in an emergency.
Brandi, my radio looked just like that! And it had a white leather case. My sis hated that I had to go to sleep with the radio on, even under my pillow she could hear it  Monkey Devil!

Cool!

My grandmother bought them for us three children. My sis got one like mine, our brother got a black one just like it.

One year I took out some stuffing from my panda bear and stuck the radio in its belly. Took it to Girl Scout camp for two weeks. We were not allowed to take radios. LOL No one ever knew! Guess I have been a bit of a rebel for a long time. LOL

You guys sure brought back some memories. OMG  my hubs still has that radio. It's in his save stuff box. In other words he doesn't get rid of much stuff  His is black. to funny.

Good Morning all! Happy Monday - I know I am ready for a break from the weekend!  I think I finally thawed out from the SnowFest in Frankenmuth Saturday night. But the fireworks were cool and the kids had fun. My sister and I took all the kids - 7 of them - 4 of which are 3 year olds. We felt like this most of time!  :

I haven't had any trouble so far.If you see my broken avi reappear you'll know it happened to me too.
I am so sick of hearing and seeing "O" He is a bout to speak a gain.
I am sick of all this.Hubby and I were talking about putting my house back on the market to downsize again. He still hasn't been released to go back to work, and I am just about disgusted.
I guess I'll wait and see if there is an upturn in the market.
While I am bit**ing,I am sick of seeing Pelosi's face too.
And then there was O's surprise appearance at a basketball game.    Maybe he should try that line of work.

Like Obama doesn't have enough work to do, he finds time to go to a basketball game. I can't stand Pelosi, we will be voting for a new governor, I believe this November. Arnold needs to get the he!! out of here. I can't believe I'm going to vote for Jerry Brown, Mr super liberal, but something needs to be done here, and let him try again, since he was governor once before. I'm not sure how the houses are selling, I think some are selling around here, but not at the high price they were

And you just got done spiffing the place up, I want to downsize too but husband says no - what does he know?  Basketball might be good for O'Bama - he could be the ball and they could bounce him around good and then do a slam dunk.

Same here with prices.I had my home on the market right before chit hit the fan.MY agent suggested dropping my price and I said o.k. the first time and then I just pulled out.I have been slowly going and looking around again.
I had an offer to swap for a little place on the gulf. You can't afford insurance on the Gulf.Forget about it.
I think Arnold needs to go too!Everyone in office should be voted out.

Monkey Devil! I think you are right - I heard on the news today that they have to send the mechanics for training on how to install the parts - wonder how long that will take?  It is going to be a never ending process I am sure.

You can barely afford insurance here, especially car insurance, I'm sure the insurance on the gulf must be outrageous. My friend last year finally sold her place, she had it on the market three times. She finally sold it to a young couple, and I know she didn't make what she wanted on it, but she had to sell. I'm sick to death of everything, just everything, young people here can't afford to live in an apartment, maybe if you have a whole bunch of people to live with, but that won't happen. I feel real bad for the young people.

And the problem is, what should we drive, we have two Toyotas. My daughter owns one also. And I told my husband you better call the dealer and maybe if they are putting names down to have the cars fixed you better, or it will never get fixed.
