I hope you can get out in the morning JSM for work  an angelic monkey
Thanks No Rose,  I am more worried about getting to the bank, to the rink at 5:30 and my sister's birthday dinner tomorrow night. Oh and get Josef from school tomorrow. I feel guilty leaving him overnight, but I know he is safe and warm and I hate to drive in this stuff with him in the car. The guy that works at the Pet Lodge told me he would take Josef outside for a long walk so he can play in the snow in the field behind the building.

Forgive my jumping in here, JSM, since I'm new, but I just have to ask - why is your dog in school?  I have read a lot over the last couple of years, so I feel that I know you and your precious Josef, but I've not kept up with your very own thread (congrats on that) so wasn't up to date on Josef.  I hope everything is OK.....
Hi Mindonfire, no need for forgiveness on jumping in  Dive right in, Josef is in school tonight because of the snow that will turn to ice in the morning. Basically I have a nervous breakdown driving him to daycare when it rains so I know I will freak out in the morning with the ice.

Aw, I know how much you love Josef, from reading here.  We have two dogs and a cat, have always had dogs in my life, but this little kitty (who is almost 14 now) is the first cat we've ever had.  She's very sweet, and I can't imagine not having her.  But our dogs - Lulu and Kirby - are a hoot.  Lulu is a black lab, and Kirby is a terrier/australian shepherd mix (so we were told by the guy who was giving away puppies outside of Wal-Mart three Christmases ago...we got Lulu from a local shelter when she was 3 months old.  Oh, and congrats to all the Saints fans on their superbowl win.  That was amazing!
You are lucky your dogs allow a cat. They sound adorable, I love the name Lulu. I would love to see pics. I love puppies and kitties! Josef doesn't love either or dove or squirrels or opossums or anything on four legs.

Oh, our dogs are outside dogs (DH won't allow them in the house - too big).  That's why everybody gets along.  We originally had a cocker spaniel, Buffalo Buff IV, who was a pedigree breeder that was given to my family by a lady I worked with, then we got a chocolate lab as a companion for Buffalo, from a different shelter, and my sister MADE us take her - she worked for that city's police dept. and when the animal control officer her in, she called me and said 'You have GOT to see this dog - you will love her" and we did and she delivered her to me and we named her Coco Chanelle.  Well, Buff died of old age, and that's when we got Lulu as a companion for Coco, then when Coco passed, we got Kirby for Lulu.  And on and on.  Lu is now going on 7 and Kirby is 3, so I'm thinking we'll have them both for a good long time.  Kirby is definitely a squirrel dog.  They tease him!  The squirrels will get on the sides of the trees just outside of the fence, and run around and around, just to make him go crazy!  Kirby and Lulu share a nice dog house, and DH puts fresh straw in it frequently, because we've had a nasty winter so far, but they love it.  Funny part is, if you ever get on to Kirby for something (usually for his insane barking at the squirrels), Lulu will run to the dog house, even though she rarely ever even has a harsh word spoken to her.  We live in an area where we can walk them down a dirt road not too far away, and they just love going on their adventures! Love my furbabies!  (We do have kids, too - two boys that are both away at college)

Hi, Brandi!  Great to be here!  I'm just jumping around, reading from one thread to another.  Can you explain to me why JSM has a Begging for Ban thread?  I've been absent from reading here for a little while, and I don't think there's any way I can catch up, now that the thread is at #12!!  I'm supposing it's so Monkeys can talk about off-topic things?

YUP!

You are one smart monkey!

Why, thank you, Brandi - and you are a talented monkey!

And lookkee there - I did it again!  Got in your quote box!

Hahaha. I don't mind sharing. However, I did fix it for this post. LOL

Mindonfire, JSM always was off topic, so the great Mods gave JSM a place to be off topic.  an angelic monkey

That's what I deduced, although I've not worked my way back through all of your posts on your very own thread!  As I said, I've been reading here for a very long time, so I feel as if I know a lot of Monkeys just from reading their posts.  You are always a hoot, JSM!
Never been told I was a hoot, but that is great!!! They say power may be going out and I better get off line. Have a great evening monkeys.  an angelic monkey

Hope you have candles handy. But I really hope you don't lose power!

Have a restful night, JSM! Kiss Josef tomorrow when you see him for me.

I will try to post some pics - not really computer literate but maybe I can get one of my boys to help me when they come home on Spring Break.

Good Morning JSM Begging for Ban Monkeys!  I just want to thank you all again for your prayers for the return of my brother's dog, Curby. If you have ever wondered what a kind thought or prayer can do, please know that you all touched my heart yesterday and I truly believe it was your prayers that brought Curby home.  I have been home sick this week (I NEVER miss work), but when my brother called me Wednesday afternoon and told me Curby was missing, I jumped in my car and drove 1 hour to get there.  It was snowing like crazy, but nothing mattered except finding Curby.  We drove around until it was so dark we couldn't see a thing, calling for him and looking into snow covered yards.  We went back to my brothers' house and made a flyer, posted on Craigslist and submitted an ad for the local paper on-line.  Then we drove around to some local businesses and posted flyers.  It was too late to call shelters, and when there was nothing more we could do, I drove home with a very heavy heart.  I prayed all night long and when I couldn't think of anywhere else to turn, I posted here for prayers.

My brother received a call just a few short hours after I posted here that a family did indeed pick Curby up on a snowy, busy street.  They found him within an hour or so after he went missing. They took him home, gave him a warm bath and kept him in their house Wednesday night.  On Thursday afternoon,  they went to a grocery store and saw the flyer we had posted there the night before!  When my brother called me, he said the words I was praying I would hear, "I've got him back!"   Later, after things settled down, I called him and read all your prayers to him.  He was so touched, he got choked up, and he very quietly said, "tell them all, thank you".   an angelic monkey

Good morning everyone!

The guy on the Weather Channel just said that this is the first time 49 states had some snowfall.   And that even Florida may get some, so that would make 50 states that have snow.     I wonder if he forgot about Hawaii.   Does Hawaii have snow right now?    Good old global warming.....

I hope all the monkeys in the south are enjoying the snow and staying warm!

I felt that is what happened, that a nice family picked Curby up, I could just feel it. I'm so happy he is home.
