"Commissioner seeks tougher immigration controls"

Quote
"I want a full line of information on just how we handle it in the county and make sure we're hiring people who are legally here and participating in paying taxes," Rocco said.

Quote
Jerry Haines, the county's workers compensation and safety specialist, said the human resources department does background checks on anyone applying for a job with the county. However, the county has no authority over private contractors' labor force.

Quote
Dobson believes that Gov. Charlie Crist and state legislators "refuse to confront illegal immigration" in Florida.

"The state of Florida would save billions in education, assistance and incarceration if we could deport illegals from our state," Dobson said.

Crist, she said, could sign an executive order that would mandate all state contractors to use E-Verify and so far has not done so.

Dobson said it is shameful that some of these higher paying road and construction projects brought about by federal stimulus dollars are going to illegal aliens.

Dobson disagrees with critics who say Americans would not take some of these agricultural jobs that are now embraced by illegals.

Quote
Dobson said she believes passionately in this cause because her sister, who runs a landscaping business in Kentucky, is continually getting outbid on projects by other contractors because they use illegal aliens and don't have to pay them as much.

I seems like some have been given 'golden' opportunities to build businesses on illegal alien labor.  Other, are going out of business because they cannot afford the legal labor they have to pay.

It seems like businesses rely on illegal labor and the underground economy prosper.

Those that are hard working and HONEST suffer.  They cannot compete against businesses that don’t have the same labor expenses.

How many citizen businesses are going banktupt?

How many businesses that work the illegal alien employee angle are going under?

I think Washington has failed in their fiduciary responsibilities to Americans and those here legally.

Why didn’t they protect American business from this unfair competition in their own country?

Who can compete when they have to pay high taxes, insurance, minimum wages, and a host of other things for legal workers?

Your competition pays cash and no benefits?

Why hasn’t the government worked for Americans?

Why does it seem like they continue to work against citizens and those here legally?

Icing on the cake for the anti-American president and his administration?

"They're dumping law service on Americans...unfair labor practices..."

According to CNN, in October, 73 percent of those questioned wanted a reduction in the number of illegal immigrants. With unemployment at 10 percent and the economy in the dumpster, Americans don't want to fast track immigration, especially for those illegal aliens who have already been taking advantage of American generosity and lack of enforcement backbone.

Conveniently, a recent study sponsored by the Migration Policy Institute, a pro-immigration think tank, concludes that illegal aliens do not drain jobs or tax dollars and have a neutral impact on the U.S. economy. However, this pro-illegal group failed to include the costs of identity theft, drug smuggling and the moral cost of supporting criminal behavior combined with the exploitation of illegal aliens.

Quote
The smart thing to do is to close the borders to all immigration for the next seven years until America gets back on her feet and then reopen them with strict enforcement of the law. At the same time, provide legally employed, law-abiding, tax-paying individuals already stuck in the red tape-infested visa system with a clearer path to permanent legal residency.

Quote
Under the new legislation, illegal aliens already here simply need to be employed, pay a $500 fine, learn English and undergo a criminal background check to win amnesty. The bill also abolishes the E-Verify system, which has allowed employers to check easily if a job applicant is in the United States legally and eliminates the programs that permit local law enforcement officials to work as immigration officers.

Why isn't border enforcement  greater priority?  All the violence, drugs, and people smuggliing.  How many terrorists come over the border and blend in?

Quote
American citizenship is a privilege not a right. It is time to stop rewarding unlawful behavior and stressing America's limited resources by providing illegal aliens the rights and benefits afforded legal immigrants and citizens. Illegal immigration is just that - illegal. Because of a lack of enforcement, Americans now have to choose between empathy for the plight of illegal aliens or following the law and doing what is right for America.

Is there any sympathy for the American family that save for decade for a comfortable retirement?  Today, they are watching the Obama Administration destroy their savings?  Debase the dollar?

Open the flood gates that will destroy what is left of Social Security?  Medicare?

Give more to those that have not contributed?

I never hear these pro-Amnesty people talking about doing what's right for citizens and those here legally.

Giving Americans a fair deal.  Protecting the interests of Americans.

"A Bailout for Illegal Immigrants? Lessons from the Implementation of the 1986 IRCA Amnesty "

Quote
By now most of us realize that the government handled the $700 billion bailout of the big banks badly. The money went out in a whoosh to the Wall Street outfits that had created the crisis, but without the needed regulatory changes to prevent its repetition.

Is Congress about to make a parallel mistake about the illegal alien population and give that group a blanket amnesty like the one it lavished on the (much smaller group of) bankers, without giving a thought to the inevitable impacts of such an action?

With that dubious prospect on the horizon, it is a good time to take a careful look at the dysfunctional inner workings of the last major bailout of America's illegal alien population, the alien legalization program that Congress created with the passage of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA).

http://www.rightsidenews.com/201001058043/border-and-sovereignty/a-bailout-for-illegal-immigrants-lessons-from-the-implementation-of-the-1986-irca-amnesty.html

This is an interesting article.

How many Americans have been knowing or unknowing victims of illegal aliens?

Where is the victims chance to speak out about the abuse they have suffered due to the actions of illegal aliens?

My tax record has been corrupted…the IRS keeps sending me letters asking me to pay up…

My credit rating has been destroyed…I can’t get a mortage, and the interest rates on my credit card has gone up due to identity theft, fraud, and abuse.

Why doesn’t this bill call for the victims of illegal aliens to be notified?

Why aren’t victims being given the opportunity to recover damages?

Why are victims silenced?

If this were a system with integrity, why keep the wrongdoing of these people in the dark?

Why aren’t their records open to public inspection?

If you get arrested, get a ticket, or do something bad, it’s a public record and often available on the internet.

Why are these amnesty records and the illegal information available?

How many Americans will struggle for years to clean up an IRS/Social Security record, or credit history?

Why isn’t more being done for Americans and those here legally?

How many Americans, like children, won’t find out until years later they are victims?

Why do some want to cover-up the wrongdoing of illegal aliens?

If my personal information is hacked or compromised, banks, insurance companies, retail stores all have a legal obligation to let me know.

Why is this concept ignored in favor of illegal aliens?

Is it another example of the anti-American Obama administration at work again?  Staying up late at night thinking of way to destroy Americans?

Why isn't Holder and Immigration going after construction companies that benefit from government contracts, stimulus, and other taxpayer funded contracts?

How many illegal aliens to these contractors and their subs employ?

It seems like government targets non-construction businesses for enforcement.

Why aren't they targeting the construction industry?  Subcontractors?

"Analysis: In Obama’s economy, immigrants outpace native-born Americans"

Quote
Since Obama’s inauguration, employers have fired and hired millions of workers during the bust and slow recovery. The net result is that they employed more than 1.7 million more immigrants — but only 418,000 more native-born Americans — in August 2012, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ household survey.

Somehow, when the currency/nation collapse due to massive debt, who will lose the safety net?

Quote
The job data is collected in the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ monthly survey of American households. The survey shows that immigrants won three out of every four jobs added since January 2009′s employment totals, even though immigrants are only one-sixth of the workforce in a nation of 310 million people.

If this data had showed whites being over represented, how long before companies were punished for statistical racism?

Quote
From January 2008 to March 2012, the country took in 4.5 million immigrants — including some illegals — into the United States, or roughly 60,000 working-age people per month, said Camarota.

“We’ve tried the high-volume, low-skill immigration approach for the last three decades,” he said. “If we want a low-unemployment, high wage economy, it would make sense to have low-volume, high-skill immigration.”

How many native born farmers are losing their farms?  Who is buying the farm?

Rolling the American people, one million legal/illegal immigrants at a time?
