HARRINGTON, N.H. - She left her house and never came back. Sarah Rogers’ car was found in Maine on the same night she disappeared, December 13. But there was no sign of the 29-year-old mother from Harrington, N.H.

Her family is hoping someone may know something.

“It’s affecting them a lot, the baby especially,” Fritz Coulombe, Rogers’ husband, said of their children. “He's been acting out a lot. He's constantly been trying to get to the door to find his mom. He grabs her pocketbook.”

“This is not a rational person,” said Rogers’ father, Bob Rogers. “She can be delusional, paranoid and disoriented.”

Sarah Rogers is bipolar, and her family believes she may be confused. That morning, she was upset and her husband couldn’t calm her down so he called 911. But before police arrived, Sarah left the home wearing only shorts and a t-shirt.

Her car was found hours later, about two hours away from her home, stranded in the median on the northbound side of Interstate 95 in Clinton, Maine.

“It appears that she slid off the roadway. The car was in the snow and the car was in gear,” said private investigator Tom Shamshak.

The door was open and her cell phone was inside. Her bag was on the ground,

Footprints were discovered by a trooper going into the southbound lane.

State police dogs and search teams have searched the woods where the footprints ended at the southbound lane, but the trail went cold.

“I'm hoping that somebody gave her a ride, or that's she in a shelter. I would think that she would stand out like a sore thumb,” said Bob Rogers.

Sarah does have ties to Massachusetts, and they believe she may have gotten a ride away from her stranded car and crossed state lines. She may be somewhere in the tri-state area.

She may have taken her wallet with her, with several hundred dollars in it. Her credit cards and debit cards have not been used.

In the past few days, there have been several sightings of Sarah in southern Maine.

She has blonde hair, is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weight about 110 pounds.

PORTLAND - A candlelight vigil was held in Portland's Monument Square Sunday evening for 29-year-old Sarah Rogers of New Hampshire, who was last seen in December.

Police found Rogers' car in the median of I-95 in Clinton back on December 13. Police say the keys were still in the ignition, but Rogers was nowhere in sight. It's unclear what happened to her, but police believe she may have been picked up by a passerby.

Friends and family say Rogers is bipolar, and may be confused. If you have any information on her disappearance, you're asked to call the police.

Thank you Peace.  I've been looking and can't find any article about this yet.  I'm hoping for a link before I move this thread to "Found Safe".  It's not that I don't believe you, it's just that we are supposed to have news confirmed by a link.   

I just love moving threads from "Missing" to "Found Safe"    I'm eagerly anticipating the release of  information  with a source/link so I can move this one.

There was nothing on any of my local news stations at 6 pm re: her being located. There is nothing on any of the radio/TV station websites re: updated info on her. Nothing. Peace......come back and post a link,  please.

Bubba who is/maybe Sarah's husband is on WS complaining about an SM post that she has been found.  He said she's not, or he has not been notified.  He thinks it was a cruel hoax and could cause a drop in interest and searching.
Did any monkeys ever find confirmation of that "found" post?  I couldn't.

Peace made the post and didn't come back to say or post where she/he read that. I wouldn't call it a 'hoax'...it just isn't true. I satated I found nothing locally that says she has been located. I have no idea where Peace got her info....since she hasn't come back to say so.

I'm really sorry Sarah Rogers hasn't been found.  And now I hope some will realize why we ask for links.   I was trying to be polite to Peace when I thanked for the information so I didn't sound like a real meanie, but you'll notice I posted this:

"I've been looking and can't find any article about this yet.  I'm hoping for a link before I move this thread to "Found Safe".  It's not that I don't believe you, it's just that we are supposed to have news confirmed by a link. "   And I didn't change the subject header to "found" and I wouldn't move it to "found" without a link.  I don't know what else I can do when a poster says someone has been found, but to ask for the link, which I did.  Should I put a disclaimer on the post to indicate there is no proof (link) that the person's been found?  Or will posters read the next post like the one I made and see that there were questions about the information, due to no link given at the time?  In future, I hope our posters will be careful when posting things like this.  As a moderator I do my best to be sure what is posted as information has a link.  The last thing I would ever, ever want to do is something that might hurt a missing person or their family members or friends.  So if my asking for a link offends some posters, too bad.  I'm finished dancing around with it, trying not to step on toes.  Someone may "think" they heard something and misunderstood.  It's best to be sure and give a link then to try to be the first to post something, IMO.

Still no clues to woman's whereabouts

Sarah Rogers disappeared eight weeks ago today after racing out of the Barrington home she shares with her husband and toddler son. Her car was later found abandoned in the snow about 140 miles away in Clinton, Maine, the engine still running .

Rogers, 29, described by family as a talented artist, brilliant musician and loving mother, didn't come home for Christmas with her son, Elias. She never called, either.

The young mother, who had battled bipolar disorder since college and apparently was in a manic state at the time of her disappearance, also missed Elias' second birthday Jan. 27.

And still no word.

No bank-card activity, no sightings, no contact with any of the many people who love her, according to her father, Bob Rogers, a Florida attorney who has hired three private investigators to help find Sarah.

"It's horrible, the not knowing," said Rogers, who spoke on behalf of the family.

But yesterday offered some cause for hope, after a Maine State Police search of the area where Sarah Rogers' car was found indicated that she had not wandered into the woods, as her father had feared.

Police conducted the search with the VK9 Scent Specific Search and Recovery tandem of Julie Jones and her yellow Labrador retriever, Quincy. Using a pair of Sarah's leather pants, Quincy was able to track the missing women's movements that day, Jones said. Quincy was able to show Rogers crossed the median and the southbound lane of Interstate 95 and walked south for a bit, without entering the woods.

"What that told me is, Sarah got in a vehicle," Jones said.

Bob Rogers said that makes it all the more important to find out what happened as soon as possible.

"This gives me hope," he said, that his daughter is still alive.

Disturbing behavior

Rogers said he spoke with his daughter during the week before she left home and could tell her mental state was deteriorating. She had stopped taking the medication that helped her control her bipolar disorder, her father said.

"She was talking faster and faster, not always making sense, starting to become more emotional," he said.

Her blue Scion xB was tagged the day she left home, Dec. 13, 2009, first going north on I-95 through the Gardiner, Maine, toll plaza at about 1 p.m., then south at about 4 p.m., then north again at 5:07 p.m. Her car was found in Clinton, Maine, at about 6:15 p.m., Rogers said.

Her car was parked 10 feet into the median with the engine still running. The car was still in drive, the driver's side door left open.

Rogers' large purse was found 10 feet from the car, but her smaller purse with her bank cards and identification was missing. She had left her cell phone at home as she hastily left home that morning.

Footprints in the snow led across the median, then vanished, Bob Rogers said.

Sarah's condition could leave her mind racing or she could become catatonic and just lie down on the ground, he said.

Stephen McCausland, spokesman for Maine State Police, confirmed there hasn't been a clue as to Sarah's whereabouts.

"She ... just disappeared into thin air," McCausland said.

Maine State Police have conducted several searches where her car was found, all to no avail, McCausland said. There is no reason to suspect foul play, but police can't rule anything out because they don't know what happened to her, McCausland said.

"There are a thousand different scenarios," Bob Rogers said. "Could she have met with foul play? Sure. She could have hitched a ride with a bad guy."

Talented and troubled

Originally from south Florida, Sarah grew up living with her mother, nationally known artist Ora Sorensen, Bob Rogers said. Sarah sometimes worked in her mother's Delray Beach gallery and had sold some of her own paintings as well, Rogers said.

Sorensen described her daughter as "very brilliant -- beyond brilliant. She wrote music and was an amazing guitar player.

"She's very, very loved and missed. Our family is devastated and heartbroken, and we hope we see her soon," Sorenson said. "There are many people who love her."

Rogers said he always tried to stay close to his daughter even after he and her mother divorced when she was 2.

Sarah, a rebellious teenager, had a major breakdown when she was a student at Palm Beach Community College, he said. She was hospitalized after she was found wandering the streets.

On Dec. 13, 2009, Sarah's husband, Fritz Coulombe, called Rogers' wife, Marguerite, to see if she could calm Sarah down. She couldn't.

Coulombe called 911. While he was on the phone, Sarah, still agitated, took off in her car at about 9:20 a.m., Rogers said.

No one knows why she headed north, Rogers said. The family knows of no friends in Maine.

He hopes to spark memories. Perhaps someone saw her car that day, or saw Sarah and may have clues as to what happened to her. He asked anyone with information call Barrington police or Maine State Police.

Sarah is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 110 pounds, with blonde hair and hazel eyes.

After she and her family moved to Barrington, where her husband has family, she sang in coffees houses and planned to give guitar lessons.

She had left home several times before her disappearance, but she was found within a few days and hospitalized on each of those occasions. Police have said she used an alias, Marla Moon, but Rogers said she used that name only once, while hospitalized in a manic state.

Last September, when Rogers visited his daughter, son-in-law and grandson in Barrington, Sarah was thriving, he said. She was talking about continuing her college education at the University of New Hampshire.

And, her father said, she was enjoying motherhood.

"She seemed to be stabilized. Her life was getting on track," Rogers said.

He proudly watched mother and son play together. She was not the kind of mom who would have voluntarily missed Christmas and her son's birthday, he said.

"We went to the park with a big ball to kick around," he recalled. "She's a good mom."

Thank you for the history/background Nut.  It's very sad.  I hope Sarah can be found.     From personal experience, I know sometimes there are some who are artistic and gifted and they don't always see things in conventional ways.  It can be both a gift and a curse.  Prayers for Sarah Rogers, her family and friends.

Family announces reward for information about missing daughter
PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The family of Sarah Rogers, who has been missing since early December, has announced a reward for information which leads them to her.

Sarah Rogers jumped into her car and took off from her home in Barrington, New Hampshire on the morning of December 13th.  Her husband called police to report her as a missing and endangered person almost immediately because she suffers from bi-polar disorder and was in a manic state.

Her car was found in the median of I-95 in Clinton, Maine over 150 miles away.  She had a minor accident in a snow storm and left her car with her keys in it and walked away.  A tow truck driver spotted the car and called State Police to investigate.  Police looked for Rogers, but did not find her.  Footprints in the snow ended in the southbound lanes.

In January, Roger's father and mother-in-law traveled to Maine to meet with police and assist in a search for Sarah.  The search involved numerous State Police officers walking the area where her car was found with cadaver dogs and Maine Game Wardens searching near-by fields and power line right of way's on snowmobile.  They did not find any clues as to where she disappeared.

Tuesday, the family announced a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the safe return of Sarah.  If you have any information which could assist the family and law enforcement in finding her, you are asked to call 1-800-422-0944.

Goodness, I am soooo sorry. There was another Sarah Rogers who went missing in December and was found. I greatly apologize for the mistake. The two Sarah's look similar, but the one found is much younger. I didn't realize until today that I had looked at the wrong Sarah's facebook page. I just assumed there was only one "Help find Sarah Rogers" Facebook.
