Climate Change Fraud Continues?

I’ve read that there is a new or recycled, depending on your point of view, climate change/cap & tax/global redistribution bill in Washington.

Any better?  Fair?  Fraud?

Quote
In Kyoto, Europe ran the show with special interests like the Sierra Club, Greenpeace and others with their demands for immediate reductions in green house emissions regardless of the costs.  What resulted was the United States, represented by zealots such as Al Gore accepted a “stacked deck” which weighted much of the pain and suffering to the people of America while others could keep their emissions growing.  It was a no win situation for the world environment but a big cost being assessed to that hated entity, the United States...For instance, the number one polluter in the world is not the United States but China.  India, Mexico, Brazil and others are quickly moving up the pollution rankings as their industries are starting to take form.  Imagine this: China opens two new coal mines per week.  So, it is not just the United States and Europe that bears watching; there are major players in all parts of the world.  This change in the emission formulas has also brought on a serious form of irony.

Hmmm…coal that produces electricity, driving the big factories?

We can’t change what the US and other have done in the past…can we change the future?  Why aren’t these things a pat on the back for what America has accomplished?

Less pollution?  Fewer jobs?  Continuing job losses?

A plan -

Needed in this issue are good, sound science and some dynamic strategic planning.  We should all come together with the purpose of finding out just what is going on; structuring a plan with reasonable milestones and proceed aggressively.  There shouldn’t be any shakedowns or reasons to demonstrate and fight each other.  The world should come as one and work towards new and better technology.  Environmental pirates, crooks and opportunists should be dealt with firmly.  New and better technology should be immediately shared and deployed as it becomes available. This shouldn’t be about making big money or having the power curve shift more to your nation’s favor.  It is about keeping Mother Earth safe and a place conducive to a good future for generations to come.

…Also, when it comes to rain forest shrinkage no nation has done more damage than Brazil.  How dare they point their finger at us and demand reparations and billions of dollars in aid.

Brazilian companies, are buying assets worldwide.  Pilgrims Pride, just last year.  Millions…billions…why aren’t they replanting the rain forests?  Why aren’t their profits impacted?  Did they buy the name?  Will they export the jobs south?

The success of past generations was to provide cheap affordable energy for citizens, businesses, and our common prosperity.

How is it that China is so cheap?  Cheap labor?  Energy?  Subsidy?

Why assault what works?

The WMC cited a study by the conservative Wisconsin Policy Research Institute that contends the proposed green legislation would kill 43,093 private-sector jobs in Wisconsin.

“Many families in this state are hurting,” said Scott Manley, director of environmental policy for the WMC, which has long supported conservative political candidates and causes. “We cannot afford to lose any more jobs, but that is exactly what this legislation will do.” Wisconsin has lost 160,000 high-wage manufacturing jobs since 2000, and the proposed legislation will continue the high-wage job loss. We need to reverse the current trend, and find a way to bring family-supporting manufacturing jobs back to our state. But hitting Wisconsin’s economy with the expensive new energy regulations proposed today will significantly increase our cost of electricity, and kill jobs while doing nothing to address global warming. Lawmakers must understand that increasing the cost of energy for Wisconsin families and employers is a recipe for further job loss.”

As for Doyle, he said an economic assessment of the Clean Energy Jobs Act (State Senate Bill 450 and State Assembly Bill 649) found that the package would directly create at least 15,000 green jobs in Wisconsin by 2025. More than 1,800 jobs would be created in the first year alone, he said. Doyle’s assessment also found that between 800 and 1,800 construction jobs would be created each year from 2011-2025, and more than 2,000 manufacturing jobs would be created once the laws are fully implemented.

Wow, the state lost 160,000 jobs in than 10 years.

The comments are interesting...follow the money.

Those companies that stand to make lots of money with higher energy prices are all or this 'green' legislation.

How many jobs are they predicting will be lost?  43,000 plus.

From the comments, once you use the word 'denier' you lose credibility.

If Obama can't pass a federal cap & tax, apparently he is working for this at the state level.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ( EPA ) today announced it is making up to $5 million in grants available to U.S. and international organizations to fund innovative, international methane reduction and use projects that cut global climate pollution. The grants will be issued through the Methane to Markets Partnership, a public-private partnership that reduces greenhouse gas ( GHG ) pollution by promoting the cost-effective, near-term recovery and use of methane, a GHG that is more than 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide.

Quote
Non-profit or government organizations in any country may apply for grant funding, but projects should take place in the following Methane to Markets Partner countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Mongolia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Thailand, Ukraine, and Vietnam...

China and India are the new global wealthy elite.  China starts up two coal fired plants a week, and they need US taxpayer money?

Republic of Korea, China, and India have BOOMING economies and the US is giving THEM money?  The US is broke, busted, bankrupt.

Brazil - has lots of wealthy companies.  So wealthy, a meat company bought Pilgrims Pride for about $800 million dollars.  Why aren't  Brazil's wealthy companies funding their own methane  operations?  Why are US taxpayers paying the bill for Brazil's wealthy elite?

US taxpayers should borrow money FROM China and give it back to them for FREE?

Quote
Since the launch of the partnership in 2004, EPA has provided almost $13 million for nearly 70 grants to build capacity and promote international capture and use of methane.

$13 million over five years, and Obama spends $5 million in just the first half of 2010?

The US is broke, busted, bankrupt.

Obama keeps giving the money away.

The US is forced to borrow from international loan sharks.

How does Obama plan to pay this money back?
