I watched some snips yesterday of Oprah walking around the Danish utopia.  Everything looks wonderful.  Is it really?  How does the Danish utopia compare to the American dream?

What would be needed for the US to compete?  75% taxation?

Does Denmark have an open and welcoming door/border for illegal aliens and immigrants?  What do we know about this paradise of socialism?  Why doesn’t everybody get on a plane and go today?

EU court ruling threatens Denmark's immigration policy

Quote
(COPENHAGEN) - A ruling by the European Court of Justice may sound the death knell for Denmark's restrictive immigration policy by forcing it to ease family reunification rules, and could trigger a government crisis down the road.
The July 25 ruling by the EU's highest legal body stipulated that under a 2004 European Union directive on free circulation of people within the bloc, EU members may not refuse entry or right of residence to non-EU spouses and family.

In the US, I believe people are free to move from one state to another.

Strict immigration policy is a cornerstone of Denmark's Liberal-Conservative minority government, which has retained power since 2001 thanks to the informal support of its far-right ally, the Danish People's Party (DPP).
Its immigration legislation, broadly supported by Danes, is among the most restrictive in Europe.
The strict rules have led to a sharp drop in the number of people who have immigrated to Denmark as part of family reunifications, from about 13,000 in 2001 to 4,500 in 2007.

Maybe this would solve the problem of illegal immigration in the US?  Just say NO and start the deportations?

Maybe 4,500 LEGAL immigrants would go unnoticed by those opposed to LEGAL immigration?

What is the lesson?  It’s easier to maintain UTOPIA when the number of people is constant?  You eliminate illegal immigration and put strict limits on legal immigration?

I wonder how long it would take the US to transition to such a Utopia?

Just say NO to Haitian refugees?  I wonder how many million Denmark will take?  One?

If we give Obama 75% of our earnings, anyone think we’ll have paradise too?

Denmark Offers 100,000 Kroner to Illegal Immigrants
« on: November 24, 2009, 06:09:18 AM »

Denmark has agreed to increase tenfold the amount of money offered to immigrants who return home permanently to 100,000 kroner (13,443 euros, 20,172 dollars), officials said Monday.

The centre-right minority government reached an agreement with its key ally, the far-right Danish People's Party (DPP), on the issue late Sunday as part of their 2010 budget negotiations.

A financial incentive of 11,000 kroner had until now been offered to immigrants to resettle in their country of origin.

The scheme is aimed at immigrants from outside the European Union and Nordic countries, DPP deputy leader Peter Skaarup told AFP.

"It in practice targets those nationals from non-Western countries who are struggling to adapt to Danish society and who would be tempted by a fairly significant sum to go back home forever," he said.

Skaarup said those taking up the offer would receive 11,000 kroner up front. The remainder of the 100,000 kroner would be paid out once they surrender their Danish residency permits, he added.

The agreement also calls for 20 million kroner in aid to city councils in charge of integrating immigrants, to help them "motivate" foreigners to return home.

According to the refugee, immigrant and integration ministry, some 2,524 people have voluntarily left Denmark since 1997 when the repatriation program was introduced. Most of them were from the former Yugoslavia, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Somalia and Turkey.

Immigrants represent 7.3 percent of Denmark's population of 5.5 million, including 4.5 percent from non-Western countries. – AFP

In the US, the government just throws MORE money at illegal and legal immigrants.

I think the percentage of immigrants in the US is more like 30-40%.  20 million illegal aliens?

another source for the story -

According to DF party leader Pia Kjærsgaard, the move will save the state a significant sum in local costs which are administered by local and regional councils.

‘Society will save a lot on an immense number of charges and problems. We already know that there are problems with nursing homes and have been problems with hospitals and health charges,’ Kjærsgaard said.

But opposition parties are shocked by the news saying it sends a clear signal to foreigners that Denmark wants to see them leave the country.
At the weekend’s negotiations, DF also secured a further agreement to crack down on immigration.

Ten million kroner of the budget will be set aside to improve passport control at Danish borders with the purchase of scanners that can check Interpol databases for stolen travel documents.

Hmmm…Oprah promotes Utopia…

Hmmm…Obama Administration seems to destroy programs like E-Verify and Real ID Act of 2005 – programs that work to combat illegal alien employment and voting.

Hmmm…Obama Administration seems to destroy border control, ignore border violence, drug smuggling, and illegal aliens.

Hmmm…What is the Obama agenda?

This is an older story –

Quote
ISRAEL: Asylum shopping, as they call it, because of asylum anomalies. Take work, for example. In Britain, asylum seekers are allowed to start working after six months. In Germany, it's one year. In Italy, they can't work at all.

Then, there's benefits. In France, they get cash for one year; whereas, in Germany, they get about 25 pounds a month and free meals. And, in a country like Greece, they get hardly anything at all. There are, also, a few contrasting laws in the making. In Italy, all immigrants will, soon have to be fingerprinted. Germany's preparing to prevent immigrants parents from bringing in any child over the age of 12. And, in Denmark, nationals under the age of 24, will be banned from marrying a non-EU citizen.

And that's part of a new deterrent strategy to crack down on what the Danes' view as parasites, in effect, illiterate, foreign speaking peoples attracted by Europe's highest minimum wage and benefits.
