OK I want to know
if she is found poor arse! broke arse! no money!
and she has to depend on the state to pay her attorneys costs? will I repeat cuz I hope not! but will baez be allowed to spend money freviously (hope its spelled right)?
He has  trouble managing money as evidenced by  his previous record prior to being allowed to the bar. He spent 8 yrs trying to get in because of his finances but doesnt it seem like he is   back to his ol self!

It's my understanding that the Justice Administrative Commission will oversee expenses relating to indigent cases.

He could always go back to selling Brazillian bikinis.  I hope that the Justice Administrative Commision oversees expenses if Casey is allowed to go on the dole.  I also hope they look into why and how the $90,000 was spent as well as where it came from.    He's not worth two cents IMO.

I seem to recall that some time ago there was a story, and I think it came from the Anthonys, that a wealthy person, maybe in Texas, was footing the bill. Something about they thought she wasn't being treated fairly. Anybody else remember that?  If that's the case, what happened?  Oil well didn't come in? I never believed that story anyway.  IMO Casey took a gazillion pictures in her backpack every day when she spent days with him in their little nest of an office and he sold them.  Guess there are no more or the market crashed.

Good afternoon, Monkeys on this glorious afternoon in TN.

I wonder if Baez charges Casey his normal hourly rate for his appearances on TV in her behalf.  Not that he helps her case. IMO he harms her chances every time he opens his mouth.  I hope he has to account for every minute he has charged to justify the $90,000.  Casey would have been better off with a public defender who has had some extensive experience with criminal cases.  A public defender would have convinced Casey to plead guilty to manslaughter long ago, before the body was found, and she would have been out in a few years.  As it is, Baez seems to not have a clue how to conduct her defense and is running around in what appears to be endless circles, not accomplishing anything. Andrea Lyons makes such a poor personal  appearance to us, and we are probably representative of the general public in this regard, that she would turn a jury off. Every one is judged to some degree on their personal appearance.

They are going to mess around and get this girl killed.  JMO of course.

WHERE DID THE 90.000 GO
HIS POCKET OR COURT COSTS ETC BABY BEAR?

HI loca---I'd say most of it went into his pocket.  Court costs couldn't possibly be anywhere near $90,000.

If they mess around and Casey is killed, that's fine with me.  But it's his responsibility to give her the best defense possible and IMO he hasn't done that.  Not that I care.  In fact it's a good thing.  Maybe that's why that at every step the judge has specifically made sure that Casey is satisfied with Baez's representation.  Maybe  he agrees that Baez is not doing a good job.  But I think Baez took an oath to represent his clients to the best of his ability.  Wait a minute------maybe this is the best of his ability.  Yeah.
babybear
dumb question here?
Do you think that baez has gotten wind of people saying he is incompetent. This man hasnt been practicing law for very long evidenced by his fumbles and flukes. I   think that the money didnt go all to her defense. I kinda think maybe he treated himself to some luxuries. Amongst those expenses were possibly all those trips to new york to be on heraldo(intentionaly misspelled)Smile  and all those trips he made to other tv stations. He was  for a while there popping up everywhere. I think he is an ewgo maniac with no results just hot air what do ya think? about my dumb question too????

IMO part of the $90,000 could have gone to pay someone to monitor the internet for opinions about him. I think he knows that he is held in low esteem by the general public, plus he must read the blogs that a couple of attorneys post about the case which are not exactly flattering to him.  I hope so, anyway.  I think the trips to NY and LA and everywhere else he has shown up are probably paid for by the networks involved.  Crab puffs, too, probably.  And I think your question is a good one and I hope it is checked into when they are determining if Casey goes on the dole.

Hi Monks.

I remember the talk of a Texas connection footing her legal expenses.  I don't know how true that was.

I've always wondered if Geraldo has a financial stake in this in exchange for an "exclusive".  He and Baez buddied up fast and still seem to have a relationship.

If KC is declared indigent and Florida pays her legal fees, I hope the court demands an itemized accounting from Baez, etal. to date.  $90,000 is a lot of money, but when attorneys charge $250 + per hour, it doesn't take long to eat it up.

Have we heard of any other cases Baez has worked on since he teamed up with the goose that laid the golden egg (KC)?

SAN DIEGO -- After the announcement Sunday afternoon that the remains of 14-year-old Escondido teen Amber Dubois were located in Pala, 10News spoke with the publicist hired by Amber's grandmother about the dogs the family brought out to search for the teen last year and the positive hit they received on the Pala reservation.

Publicist Michelle Bart was noticeably upset in her interview with 10News' Itica Milanes. Bart broke into tears when describing the frustration she felt dealing with Escondido police.

I picked up on that immediately when reading Amber's thread.  Amber & Chelsea's sexual assault/murders are an absolute outrage.

Good morning, Monkeys!  Hope everyone had a great weekend.  I keep thinking the doc dump on Wednesday is going to contain something really good.  The A's have been too silent for too long.  That usually means a big blow out of some sort.  (The calm before the storm, if you will.) Anybody else have that "hair stand up on the back of their neck" sensation?

Casey Anthony's attorney fees are starting to add up!

Updated: Monday, 08 Mar 2010, 8:44 AM EST
Published : Monday, 08 Mar 2010, 8:24 AM EST

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - More documents are expected this week in the case against Casey Anthony. As the case progresses her attorney fees are starting to add up. Her lawyers want taxpayers to help foot the bill.

Anthony’s defense team filed a motion to get the state to help pay the cost of her trial. They say money is needed for travel, serving subpoenas, hiring experts and more.

A judge will have the final say if taxpayer money will be used to cover part of her bill.

Casey Anthony remains jailed on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of her daughter Caylee who was last seen in June of 2008, but she was not reported missing until a month later. Her remains were found in woods near the family's home on December 11, 2008. Investigators say the toddler's body was found with duct tape over her mouth.

Casey has pleaded not guilty and claims a babysitter kidnapped Caylee.

Defense Wants Help Paying For Casey's Defense
Posted: 6:30 pm EST March 5,2010Updated: 8:07 am EST March 8,2010
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony’s defense team asked a judge Friday to declare her indigent, for some of the costs of her case. Orange County taxpayers would pay for part of the trial, if a judge accepts the motion.
“The defense team is faced with extensive costs to defend Miss Anthony, ensure she receives a fair trial, and prevent the State from taking her life. The initial cost estimates for defending Miss Anthony have been far exceeded by the additional costs incurred since the State’s decision to pursue the death penalty. As a result, the defense is seeking state assistance to subsidize the costs of travel, serving subpoenas, hiring experts to interpret evidence and transcripts, deposing in- and out-of-state witnesses and investigating all aspects of the case,” the defense team’s media spokesperson wrote in a release issued early Friday evening.

Eyewitness News found out the fees for Anthony's attorneys would not be included in what taxpayers have to pay.

Since taxpayer dollars could be involved, the judge could question Anthony's attorneys about any possible book or movie deals that may be planned.

If Anthony does have money coming in from any such deals, she would be obligated to reimburse the county.

Anthony has been in jail since October 2008 and faces the death penalty for allegedly murdering her daughter Caylee.
