WYLIE - The body of a child was found early Thursday morning in a Wylie park near Lake Lavon.

Wylie authorities made the discovery after receiving a call about a deceased person at about 9:10 a.m. in the 1900 block of Skyview Drive near the East Fork Park.

No information has been released on a possible cause of death or the identity of the child.

Police are expected to release more information later in the afternoon.

Wylie police said a child was found dead this morning in the 1900 block of Skyview Drive, in a park by Lake Lavon.

A worker mowing at East Fork Park found the body in a pond about 9:10 a.m.

Police released no details about the child's identity, not even gender or approximate age.

They said they had not determined how the child died.

Wylie police detective Venece Perepiczka said the worker discovered the body in a pond on property in the park owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The area is frequented by fishermen. She said the body was not submerged.

"It's horrible. It's tragic any time you find a child like this," Perepiczka said. "We're not ruling out anything."

She said no missing-child reports have been filed that could be associated with the discovery.

Wylie police are working with the Collin County Child Task Force on the investigation.

Police closed off an entrance road to the park and were expected to be at the scene through most of the day.

"We're marking anything that could be anything," Perepiczka said.

She said the last child death in Wylie was in 2008.

Child's Body Found near Lake Lavon

DALLAS - A dead child was discovered at a North Texas park on Thursday morning.

Investigators located the boy's body in East Fork Park in the 1900 block of Skyview Drive near Lavon Lake in Wylie.

Officials said groundskeeper working with a crew discovered the boy, who is about 3 or 4 years old, shortly after 9 a.m. and notified police.

"They were working and they were weed eating, and mowing the area," park manager Drenda Burris said. "And he said that they saw little feet."

At least nine investigators were at the site of the discovery. They had cordoned off a wooded area with police tape, placed several evidence markers about and barricaded the rural scene to prevent people from entering.

Medical examiners removed the toddler in order to perform an autopsy.

It was not clear how the boy died and his identity was not known.

No one one there to pray for him, what is going on in this world? i wonder how long it will take to identify him? Any way...    I would also like to know if Elizabeth had a reaction to them finding a body of a little one . I wish someone could break through and help her to talk and tell the truth. Isn't Tammi suppossed to go to court today?  She probably does not know how to tell the truth either.
