PHOENIX -- The mother of missing baby Gabriel Johnson is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning.

This court appearance comes about two weeks after Elizabeth Johnson, 23, refused to leave her jail cell for a pre-trial conference on whether she could dismiss her court-appointed attorney.

Judge Timothy Ryan said Johnson must be in court to ask for a new lawyer.

Johnson is charged with kidnapping and custodial interference in connection with the disappearance of her son Gabriel, who was last seen with her in San Antonio, Texas, on Dec. 26.

Johnson was arrested several days later in Florida and extradited to Maricopa County.

Interesting...does that mean from now on criminals can just say "hell no I won't go" and there is nothing we can do about it?

Nothing on the court site on if the judge has ruled cameras are allowed yet.  This is nuts.  EJ asked for the court dates so she could fire her lawyers.  She got away with having a pout and not going to court the first time.  I hope Sherriff Joe finds a straight jacket and cargo dolly and they roll her in.  I am sure they can borrow some duct tape from Hopespring drive if they need to as well.

  Then they should do it. I have seen once a defendant brought in with a wheel chair and a spit guard in an Los Angeles courtroom, so why not do it in an Arizona court room?

We can only hope she is forced to appear. I'm so tired of these evil people being able to call the shots. The justice system is not using it's power. Just heard on one of the stations that judges are the last dictators so what they say should have to be carried out......
