It's hard to believe Lindsey has been missing  for over three years.   I'm glad to see this vigil being held for her, and I hope there will be answers soon.  Lindsey is not forgotten.   an angelic monkey

A rally and vigil to honor Lindsey Baum, who disappeared in McCleary on June 26, 2009, is set for 7 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Park, 330 Fifth Ave. SW, Olympia.

The event is one of several organized for the ninth annual “On the Road to Remember,” a national campaign by the North Carolina-based Community United Effort (CUE) Center for Missing Persons.

“After so many years, these cases fade from the public’s radar, but for the families and friends of a missing person, the nightmare continues – every minute of every day their loved one is absent,” the organization’s founder, Monica Caison, said in a news release.

Families of missing kids push for legislation in Olympia
November 20, 2012

OLYMPIA — Families of missing children met in Olympia Tuesday to push for legislation that could improve police investigations when kids disappear.

Although it was the first time they’ve met in person, the parents already have a bond like no other.

“We’re involuntary members of a club that shouldn’t have to exist,” said Melissa Baum, mother of missing McCleary girl Lindsey Baum.

Abductee Smart offers hope to Melissa Baum at event in Lacey
Published January 10, 2013

Before her noontime speech, Smart met with Melissa Baum, mother of missing McCleary girl Lindsey Baum. Lindsey was 10 when she went missing not two blocks from the McCleary police station as she walked home from a friend’s home June 26, 2009. She hasn’t been found.

Melissa Baum’s eyes welled with tears as she embraced Smart before the event, which was sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Thurston County. “It was a little more emotional when she turned around than I thought it would be,” Baum said of meeting Smart.

Baum said Smart’s presence gives her hope that her daughter might someday be found — and that “when she is found, she’s not going to be destroyed.”

Where's Kyron? Boy missing since 2010 would now be 10 years old

Among the supporters of the missing boy's parents is Melissa Baum, whose own daughter, Lindsey Baum, has been missing since June 2009. Lindsey's image is also featured on trucks traveling the country.

"Let's hope that it's going to help bring them home," said Melissa Baum, "that the trucks are going to be seen by someone out there who's seen one of them."

Melissa's support has proven comforting to Kyron's parents.

"I think it gives you that sense of community that you're not alone," said Kaine. "There are other people who are going through it as well, and that's helpful. We're all hopeful."

Lindsay Baum's mother: Ohio discovery shows 'they come home'
Posted on May 7, 2013 at 5:15 PM

TUMWATER, Wash. -- While the discovery of three missing women in Ohio amazes most, it gives Melissa Baum hope.

“It goes to show they come home,” said Baum.

Her daughter Lindsey was 10 when she was last seen walking home from a friend’s house in McCleary in June of 2009.

Her mother knows the statistics suggest her daughter was killed, but she has never been willing to believe that, despite what people have told her.

“Some of them clearly think I’m ridiculous,” Baum said. “They think I should get over it.”

Baum said hope is all she has.

June 26th marks 4-year anniversary of Lindsey Baum disappearance
June 25, 2013 at 8:31 am

MCCLEARY, Wash. (KBKW) - It's been 4 long years for the family of missing McCleary girl Lindsey Baum. Grays Harbor County Sheriff Rick Scott tells us they're hoping a new photo will shed some light on the investigation "We are working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children preparing an age-progressed photo, because the 26th of this month will be the anniversary of Lindsey's disappearance.

Lindsey Baum was 10 years old when she disappeared on the evening of June 26th 2009, while walking home from a friends house in her hometown of McCleary.

Scott said her age makes it difficult to guess what she would look like 4 years later "they did this a while back, the family didn't think that it looked like what they envisioned Lindsey to look like. They've done a new one, and it's pretty good - when I looked at it I thought it was how I would have imagined her to appear."

Lindsey will turn 15 years old on July 7th, at the time of her disappearance she was 4-foot-9, 80 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Lindsey’s mother Melissa, and brother Josh, have since moved out of the McCleary area. The age-progressed photo is expected to be released soon, visit www.missingkids.com for details.
