The paper creature reminds me of something recent.  It looks like a prehistoric flying dinosaur character.  I know that I have seen these somewhere...I just couldn't find a picture.  A pegasaurus I believe...but this particular one is seen somewhere.

ET phoning home?  Looks like something possibly used as a prop for a  kindergarden play maybe?  I thought of a dinosaur also.

I was trying to figure out what it reminded me of too.  I reminded me of this little toy my son got from McDonalds  once...  The paper one doesn't look complete compared to it though.  It's a character from Pokemon:

Detective offers support to children of Susan Cox Powell
Published: Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 10:04 p.m. MDT

<snipped>

Berg is lead investigator of child homicides, as well as the head of the Special Assault Unit that handles sexual assault and abuse cases. Besides investigations, Berg and her fellow detectives protect for the rights of children.

Right now, that includes the Powell boys.

"It was a pretty instant bond," Berg said. "They're wonderful kids. They're smart (and) a joy to be around."

In Sept., when helicopter video showed the kids in their backyard as police served a search warrant Aug. 25, Berg was there too. But most of her work has been behind the scenes.

She will be there for court hearings, and was there when the boys were removed from their grandfather's home.

My thoughts exactly!!!  Could it be that the plea deal will be two fold?  Will it also benefit Josh if he confesses all rather than take his chances with a jury?

SOURCE: SUSAN POWELL PORN SICKO MAY RAT OUT “PERSON OF INTEREST” SON
Published on: September 30, 2011

Authorities believe they have the key to solving the two-year-old disappearance of Utah mom SUSAN POWELL – using the threat of 70 years in prison to force her husband’s father to rat out his son for her murder!

Susan’s father-in-law Steven Powell, 61, is behind bars after cops discovered thousands of lewd “Peeping Tom” photos of young girls and nude women in his home. He’s pleaded not guilty to 14 counts of voyeurism and child pornography. Each count carries a jail sentence of five years.

“They’ve got him dead to rights,” a source close to the investigation told The ENQUIRER. “Steven Powell will die in prison, unless he can cut a deal.

“If he throws his son under the bus for Susan’s murder, he might get off with a lighter sentence.”

Susan Powell has been missing since Dec. 7, 2009, when her husband Josh claims he returned to their West Valley City, Utah, home from a midnight camping trip in the middle of a 10-degree snowstorm with their two young sons. Susan was gone, although her cell phone, purse and car were still at the home.

Josh refused to tell cops where he camped with the boys, then stopped cooperating with the investigation and abruptly moved to Puyallup, Wash., to live with his father Steven.

Now cops want Steven Powell to tell them everything he knows about his son’s involvement in Susan’s disappearance.

“Susan’s disappearance has left police stumped, but detectives believe Steven knows things that could blow the case wide open,” the source said.

“They don’t know if Josh actually confessed to his father, but they believe Steven knows a lot more than he’s told them so far.”

The only way Steven Powell would rat out his son is if its with the threat of being in general pop in prison with all the inmates knowing he's a perv.  He's got to know what his life will be like behind bars.

But then again, the perv might find it intriguing.

What must Josh Powell do to get his sons back?

By Brooke Adams

With his children now in the custody of their maternal grandparents, there is only one way for Josh Powell to get them back, says one national child welfare expert: Law enforcement must clear him as a person of interest in the disappearance of his wife, Susan, and of any participation in his father’s alleged illegal activities.

“I can’t think of anything that would prompt the court to give the children back to him while that exists,” said Richard Wexler, executive director of the National Coalition for Child Protection Reform based in Alexandria, Va.

A Pierce County Superior Court judge decided Wednesday that the boys, ages 6 and 4, will remain temporarily with Chuck and Judy Cox, parents of missing Utah mom Susan Cox Powell.

The children had been living with Josh Powell, Susan’s husband, since her disappearance on Dec. 7, 2009. Police have so far named only Josh Powell as a person of interest in his wife’s case, though they say others are being considered.

Statement from Chuck Cox's sister released in custody case
Published: Monday, Oct. 3, 2011 2:55 p.m. MDT

By Pat Reavy, Deseret News

 ::snipping2::

Pam Cox, Chuck Cox's sister, was in the courtroom during the hearing in Tacoma, Wash.

In a statement presented to the court that was just recently made public, Pam Cox recalled an incident in March 2010 when she was at the Cox house where the two boys were visiting.

While looking at a book with the boys, there was a picture of a woman in a swimsuit who was swimming, according to court documents. One of the boys pointed to the woman's chest and said, "Mommy and (owie)."

The incident was also told to the judge by the Coxes' attorney in court during the dependency hearing.

When it was time to leave the Cox home, the boy, still sitting on Pam Cox's lap, clutched her arm "really tight and started to cry," she said in her statement.

"He didn't want to let go of my arm. I had to physically pick him up and set him on the couch," she said.

When the other boy, who had been making crafts on the kitchen table heard they were leaving, "he started scrabbling out very aggressively the pictures he made us. He then proceeded to rip them up into little pieces and cry," according to Cox's statement in court documents.

What is so sad is those precious little boys are currently crying for Daddy... the Daddy who they love unconditionally ... the Daddy who brought all this heartbreak and disruption into their innocent lives.

So, true.  Kids love their parents.  Even abused kids will lie and cover up for their parents.  That creep didn't deserve Susan and he doesn't deserve the love of those to little boys.  I hope and pray that they can stay with Susan's parents for the rest of their lives.  They deserve a least a little bit of happiness and stability.

Meanwhile Friday, investigators called off their search for Susan Cox Powell, 28, near Topaz Mountain in Juab County, Utah. They have been scouring the desert for 12 days after cadaver dogs indicated the presence of human remains in the area.

Searchers uncovered only some charred wood debris from what at first appeared to be a shallow grave. Susan Cox Powell, a Puyallup native, was last seen in December 2009 at her home in West Valley City, Utah. Her husband, Josh Powell, has been called a person of interest in her disappearance

Corrections spokesman Chad Lewis confirmed that Steven Powell was terminated Friday. Since 2006, Powell has worked for Washington State Correctional Industries, a Corrections Department division in which inmates learn trades like furniture making. The department says Powell sold classroom furniture built by inmates to Chelan County school districts.

After reading this article where Josh Powell's mother Terrica gives such a glowing opinion of the wonders of his fatherhood, I wonder what she thinks about all the stuff Josh has accused Susan (the mother of the children) of?  If Josh is such a wonderful father, why has he lost custody of the two sons at this time?  Has Terrica seen the children much?  How does she know they are "happy, well-adjusted, vibrant children?"  Maybe Terrica should have stayed silent instead of trying to paint her son Josh as a "loving and very engaged father".  Josh may have helped teach his sons about building little projects, and she noted " He delightedly let the boys be involved in a way and at a level that was interesting and safe for them." yet he also took them out camping in the desert on a freezing cold night. At what level is that interesting and safe for two little boys?   He's trashed Susan publicly, which the boys will eventually learn about.  I wonder why Terrica is saying this now?  I don't think it's for her ex Steve.  I wonder if she's figured out it won't be long before Josh is going to jail too and she's trying to make him look better.  Terrica obviously doesn't have the interest of the care and safety of her two young grandsons in mind. She is trying to save her son. It reminds me of the Anthony's trying to portray Casey as a good mother.  JMHO

Josh Powell’s mom: ‘Josh is a loving and very engaged father’
October 5, 2011

The mother of Josh Powell has broken her silence, calling her son a "loving and very engaged father" as a custody dispute over his two young sons continues to play out in the Washington legal system.

In a declaration filed recently in Pierce County Superior Court in Tacoma, Wash., Terrica Powell called her grandsons Charlie, 6, and Braden, 4, "happy, well-adjusted and vibrant children ... even though they miss their mother."
Josh has long maintained a tradition of frequent activities with the kids, such as going to the zoo, or to the park to feed the ducks, or to the museum, or to Lowe’s for the little building projects they offer for kids," Terrica Powell wrote. "In addition, I have been impressed with the extra level of care Josh takes in teaching his little boys about how things work, such as when he built a new deck for their home: He delightedly let the boys be involved in a way and at a level that was interesting and safe for them. Other examples include studying animals or learning about science together.

"I have been relieved and pleased to note how very well Charlie and Braden are doing, despite the trauma and sadness of missing their beloved mother. They seem to be continuing to thrive."

Well, well, well.  People Magazine.  Terrica, is it about the money?  Are you choosing $$ and your creepy uncooperative with the police, person-of-interest-in-the-murder-of your-daughter-in-law son over your two young and innocent grandsons?  I wonder if Terrica is coming out now to make $$ to share with Josh?  Or is it for herself?

I am really puzzled by this stance she is taking.  I thought I had read that she lived with her daughter and son-in-law..and they certainly have been very outspoken against Josh and Steve and very pro Susan, her family and the boys.

Do you think she is doing this because she knows he is going to jail and is afraid before they arrest him he would do her harm..if not..and I know that's a long shot..I can't for the life of me understand this woman even uttering one word in Josh or Steve's favor.....something is definitely up with that.
