She certainly will be broke if Joran gets his mitts on any insurance money or access to her checking account.  I hope she remembers she has children other than her beloved sporter.

So the grieving widow is on Facebook being disrespectful of the girl her son made disappear already.  Guess it is safe to assume she is not too broken up over these developments.  Also appears we should not expect much from her in this regard as well.

There is no excuse for her comments.  This tells me, however, her loose lips are gonna sink perps.  I think with enough rope, she will hang herself and lots of others.  Paulus was the hand across her mouth and now it is completely open.  Watch her tell secrets one at a time.

The very fact that the Sloots had to run in the dead of night with Paulus' body... and no obit in the local papers spoke volumes. Even they know he was a pile of garbage. Too afraid that a mob would assemble and deny Paulus his moment of peace in death - something he denied Natalee. One set of standards for the Sloots and another for everyone else. A service for that coward in secret said all we needed to know.

Sometimes certain things just stand out in my mind that I can't ignore.  Right now one is Anita saying Paulus told her Joran was the last known to be with Natalee before she disappeared.  He told her this while she was still in the NL before she came home on Wednesday.  So Paulus knew throughout the ruse with the security guards that it was Joran who was last with Natalee.

The second is the bogus letter the Sloots received allegedly from Natalee's friend "David."  I have always thought they wrote that letter themselves possibly with the help of some American supporter who agreed to mail it for them and think at one time it was traced to a location that a certain one of those was known to post from at times.

The letter kept insisting that Natalee's DNA would be found on it and for them to just check.  The check was done and only Paulus DNA turned up.  So why did whomever wrote that even think Natalee's would be there?  Did they have something of Natalee's that they thought would have her DNA on it and tried to transfer it to the letter to lend authenticity?  I think they did but what?  And where is it now?

Just a couple of lose ends that for me won't go away.  Along with a few hundred others.

Never thought of it in that light, but indeed PVDS' behavior was the strangest.  Joran and the Kalpoes were out @ C & C's doing what they often did.  Unless, J was targeting Natalee to bring her home to his father.

A few pages back, Anna said a few things made her wonder - or some such thing. One was the comment made by Paulus - Joran was the last to be seen with Natalee - to Anita.

This has always held my attention and made me wonder why someone would really open up like that on an open line especially since it seems that Paulus may have already known he was being wiretapped. Remember, Paulus told the three idiots to watch what they say and their electronic transmissions. To me, this was always some sort of cover for Paulus himself. After-all, Anita was coming home and he was gonna have to explain his role to HER. This is called a pre-emptive strike. This is what my little brother did before my mother came home from work. He would call her up and say Rob did such and such, all the while neglecting his role in whatever it was we were into as kids.

Now, on to the wiretaps. You see, a charge of pre-mediated murder RISES above and beyond some sort of nominal accident. This can not be associated with a hit and run, nor a accidental drowning in your pool as you were making hamburgers and were paying no attention to what was taking place on your property.

Something allows this particular charge. Karin Jansen claimed that Paulus gave CONFLICTING statements. He gave the prosecutor's office one set of declarations and said something entirely different in the media. And please remember, Paulus said very little in the media. The Sloots claimed that this alone was the reason for the arrest. However, had this been all there was, there would have been the equivalent of a 2nd or 3rd degree charge at the maximum, if there would have been any charge at all.

In order to get to "pre-mediated" there needs to be an accompaniment of extraordinary malice. Pre-mediated take the case to a whole new and completely different level. There needs to be some evidence that explains that charge. It can't just come out of thin air and hope it sticks somewhere down the road.

Paulus' whereabouts after the casino video have never been confirmed nor has there been any great desire in the media to pin down where he was. More fingers keep pointing at Paulus - and the lack of desire to clarify any role he had in this case remains one of the larger mysteries. Sometimes when trying to clarify the finer points, you open up the proverbial can of you know what.

If there were wiretaps - and only wiretaps - confirming a conversation between van der Straaten and Paulus (which we know took place as confirmed by Rudy Croes) this alone would be subjective and could not alone rise to the level evidence needed to place a charge of "pre-mediated". There is something more here. And I want to know what it is.

The pond search - part III or otherwise known as the Aruban Groundhog day.

I was highly disappointed in the interview with Tim last night. No matter how many times we ask - and thanks to Lifesong for the recommended line of questioning - nothing ever materializes here. No blame toward Dana, but Tim steered directly away from the question and started in on the 140 remaining targets and the pond. I literally wanted to scream! How frustrating. If the pond is searched again, and I have no reason to doubt it won't be, it will be a colossal waste of time and money. This is what I have come to expect in this case. One step forward - six back.

Also nice to know that searchers gave one point seven million, but no mention of the 200+ million stolen in the IPO scam. And not to forget, they left before anyone could even put a stamp on an envelope after begging for money. Ethics and morality hard co-exist with this group.

And to top it all off, they found the trap, and continued jacking around for another 6-8 weeks never bothering to look at any of the other 140 targets. The time to look at the other targets was then - while they were there mapping for gas and oil, not now two and a half years later. They had the time, resources, and of-course expertise.

I'm not hopeful that anything new will happen, but I hope I am wrong and someone does speak. In a place like Aruba there is always someone to take Paulus' spot in the hierarchy of their thugdom.

With the crude and ugly comments Anita made on-line about Natalee one has to wonder her extent of "grieving" with the passing of ole Paul.  One also has to also wonder if Anita accidently "slipped" something in Paulus' drink while he wasn't looking.  Payback is a b!tch. Wonder why Paulus' ole buddy's in law enforcement might not have questioned that and requested an autopsy before the grieving widow was able to rush his body away from that island.  No respect for their good buddy.

Great posts everyone!  It's been a pleasure getting caught up.

What makes my flesh crawl as well is the knowledge that while they were all sitting at that poker table together, Joran was pretending to be a tourist staying at the hotel also.

What / who was Paulus pretending to be?  Its obvious he didn't blow Joran's story, so he must've known about and gone along with it.  Sick.  Sick, sick, sick.

And does Tim really think there was nothing in the trap found?  Could he just be getting them back down there to see if anything left or something?  I don't know about any of this but everything seems sort of off the tracks as far as looking for Natalee now.  Maybe just my impression and totally wrong.

I don't believe Natalee was ever in the pond.  If there was anything there that could be considered evidence in this case; it was collected long before any American searched there.

If anything is found there now, it was planted.

And quite frankly, if anything related to this case is found in any of the 140 remaining targets in the ocean; I'll think it was planted too!

They can't undo what we know was done.  Period.
