The Bald Truth has learned exclusively that after a month behind bars in the St. John’s County Florida jail, 18 year old Misty Croslin has written a jailhouse letter detailing what she claims happened to the missing five year she reported missing on Feb. 9, 2009 while babysitting Haleigh Cummings at her then boyfriend’s trailer in Satsuma, Florida.

Sources close to the case tell me investigators with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department missing child task force obtained a copy of the letter from a Croslin relative Misty wrote last week and are comparing it to other stories she’s told before. “Part of it they believe, and part of it they don’t,” said a source who has read the letter, and says investigators are going through it with a fine tooth comb.

“The problem with Misty is that they need someone credible to corraborate anything she says because she’s told conflicting stories about that night,” says the source.

We discuss Misty’s letter on The Nancy Grace Show tonight (Friday, March 12, 2010) for the first time, 8 and 10 p.m. est.

Croslin remains behind bars on 7 counts of drug trafficking and faces upwards of 130 years in prison if convicted on all counts.

Well this could take a while...Trying to read a letter Misty wrote can be a challenge since she can not spell...but she  will get her GED while in jail..per Misty. 
Misty did say she was writing her mom and dad sperate  parts in one letter she was writing..one part for both of them and a part for just mama and a part for just daddy..again per Misty's phone call to parents.  So I think we are about to see more of

Misty denied she was among the drug seekers, but last month her now roommate, Melinda Sue Santmyer, 22, who recently took her in, told Palatka police they were together, with another friend, trying to hook up a drug connection when they were robbed and Misty was roughed.

But Melinda’s pad was apparently far from harmonic and Misty’s host allegedly turned violent, sources tell me, after her boyfriend insisted she stay home with her two children, not head into the night last week.

On Nov. 11, Santmyer was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery and destroying property, and booked into the Putnam County Jail on a $2,500 bond. Misty stayed to babysit her children, friends tell me, until Melinda was released Monday, the same day Misty’s parents gave her a ride to the Putnam County Courthouse to tell Judge Elizabeth Morris she was no longer afraid of her brother, Tommy, and asked that she dissolve the order barring any contact.

Never mind I just read the link...I  can understand how they feel about stepping away...I ask myself that same question..I sometimes wonder if I neglect the real world because I am obsessed with these cases. It is wise I think to turn off your computer...hug your kids.and grandchildren...have a glass of wine and try not to think..."Where is HaLeigh" but  I find it impossible to do that...these missing children and adults are always on my mind.

Several Suspects Arrested with Drugs and Guns

On Thursday, March 11th, during the evening hours a drug investigation took place after the purchase of cannabis from an apartment located at 803 North 15th Street in Palatka. A suspect identified as Jarvis Wingo was identified as the seller of illegal narcotics from that location. While working to secure a search warrant for the property, Wingo was observed leaving the apartment with several other people. The vehicle was stopped and the occupants detained. A second vehicle left the residence a short time later. It was also stopped and the occupants detained. The apartment was then secured and the search warrant executed a short time later.

The following individuals were arrested in connection with this drug investigation at 803 North 15th Street Apt. B-130. Three (3) handguns, 218 Roxycodone pills, a television, and approximately 50 grams of marijuana were seized.

    *

      22-year-old Jarvis Wingo of Miami. Wingo was charged with DWLSR and Sale of Cannabis within 1000 feet of a Place of Worship.

      21-year-old Maurice Dumas of Palatka. Dumas was charged with Trafficking in Roxycodone, Possession of a Firearm with a Removed Serial Number, Possession of Cannabis (Under 20).

      19-year-old David Blackmon of Palatka. Blackmon was charged with Trafficking in Roxycodone, Possession of a Firearm with a Removed Serial Number, Possession of Cannabis (Under 20).

      23-year-old Tavaris Wesley was arrested on an active local warrant. Six other subjects found at the residence were questioned and released.

I DO NOT BELIEVE IT! After a year, Misty writes a letter detailing specifics of this crime? I think this is media manipulation from LE to take the heat off their poor investigation. Why isnt Crystal Sheffield screaming from the rooftops DEMANDING ANSWERS? Her silence is deafening and suspicious. Misty is not the key–she has been made the scapegoat by an inept police force that lost focus since day one!

Your assumptions are way off, regarding LE and CS, IMHO…When has she EVER screamed from the rooftops…She cares and wants answers, and has been unfairly accused of some involvement (despite cops clearing her family), but has her own issues, her caretaking now monitored by child services as she recovers from a questionable chorus of sycophants who rallied round her unwitting Mom, sowing conflict, needless drama and spreading rumors and disinformation, including a convicted child predator luridly drawn to the case whle hiding behind his website who spent eight years behind bars in a California prison for raping his two daughters. He left the web for a while when exposed, but he’s back, brazenly blogging about the case again, like Chester the Molester who just can’t stay away from the schoolyard…There are so many whackos and grandstanders who have wasted police time and manpower chasing false rumors and outright lies, and LE knows who they are and now knows to ignore them and stay focused…LE makes no bones that Misty remains the key to unlocking whatever door may lead to the next door and the next tip and ultimately answers LE needs, sources tell me, and her family is feeling the heat, whether that’s unfair or not. I’m also told she is feeling the pressure and is frightened, though you’d never know it from her false bravado and arrogance on jailhouse video as she proclaims her innocence–something we have to note to be fair–even as LE keeps its hammer down. Re-read the post and stay tuned. We reported the letter exclusively here on The Bald Truth, and on Nancy Grace Friday night (she called it “breaking news”). What I learned is that Misty recently wrote a letter from jail to a relative detailing her claims about some of her memories of the night Haleigh went missing; police have obtained the letter and are trying to corraborate those claims, and comparing it to other conflicting Misty accounts. With all due respect, you are wrong about Fields. He’s not been paid, does it because he feels she needs someone to stand up to the system and negotiate the best deal for an accused felon, and has finally convinced his client she needs to listen. Anything she tells Padilla or investigators is not privileged, and as generous as Leonard has been, anything he might learn from her (unless he were working for Fields) could not be used to work a plea bargain that might find Haleigh or what happened to her.
To be effective, lawyers like Fields, who is quiet and highly respected locally, also need clients willing to take their advice. He doesn’t just take on anyone , and, fyi, no longer reps an accused sexual predator charged with capital sexual battery against two girls.
