Hard to say, but they all look very solemn, as if they know something already...this is going to be so difficult but the unknown has gone on long enough, the suffering for family in these horrid circumstances just cannot be put into words adequately enough.

My uneducated knowledge tells me they wouldn't call all the family there if they hadn't found Haleigh's remains, what do you think? 

I agree, they wouldnt get them all riled up with as much as they have been thru unless this is her

It just seems odd to gather all for a search, could have told family over phone at least I would think.

I don't think they would have told them over the phone tho.  Am thinking they have them all gathered together like this so they can give all details at one time, and they would be together in person for the support they very likely will need.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- The search for Haleigh Cummings has new life today as officials converged on the St. Johns River and family members of the missing little girl reported to the sheriff's office.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said this morning that authorities are acting on a tip, but kept details of the search close to the vest.

The search is focused along the St. Johns River between Welaka and Satsuma near County Road 309.

A short time ago, Haleigh's family arrived at the Putnam County jail, where Sheriff Jeff Hardy said officials are conducting interviews with the family in addition to searching.

Asked if she had closure, Haleigh's grandmother Teresa Neves, Ronald Cummings' mother, replied, "No, that's all I can say."

According to a friend of the family, Lisa Finnley, the relatives were meeting with the sheriff. She described the atmosphere as tense, saying some members of the family were in tears.

It is unclear if Misty Croslin, Haleigh's former stepmother, is with the other family members. She has been in St. Johns County jail on drug charges unrelated to the case, but is no longer there. However, the public information officer for St. Johns County Office confirmed that Croslin remains in custody.

Hardy declined to confirm or deny if Haleigh has been found.

The river area where police are now also was searched about a year ago.

It does not say Ron Cummings was actually there....do we have confirmation that he is actually there??  Also note the bolded statement above.

I read in one of the reports (sorry no link) that they called Crystal last night to inform her of the search. So they must have found something to have her drive all the way there.

Reposting this info to refresh our memories........

The Croslins say about two weeks before Haleigh disappeared, Joe and Haleigh's dad, Ronald Cummings, had an issue over a gun. "He stole Ronald's gun. One morning, on the porch, said, Ronald will get what's coming to him. It was dropped, he left and Haleigh was gone," says Lisa Croslin.

Police confirm they are investigating the information about the stolen gun.

A week and a half ago, when police were asked if Joe was a suspect police said, "The one in Tennessee? No, he is not at all."
But then later, police changed their comment to no one has been ruled in or out as a suspect.

LE has roped off the area where they are searching and allowing just residents in. I am willing to bet this is on Shell Harbor Way. The road where the boat landing is on.

This looks like the beginning of that road leading down to the dock.  The police have it blocked off right there, (where the orange cones are) and the media is supposed to stay on this side of them.  It was on the video ran earlier.  After the boats/dogs etc went down to the water/woods area.  All those cars weren't there yet in that video tho.

According to her letter, Chelsea said Misty wrote that when Tommy and Joe arrived, “Misty told them she didn’t know Ronald had apparently taken the gun from his usual hiding place. So when they got there, and couldn’t find the gun, Tommy said, ‘I’m going home,’ and left, and then Joe got mad, grabbed Haleigh and took off.”

I've read at two different forums that it's about 5 miles, about 11 miles drive away from the mobile home.
