Mornin Monkeys - Happy Monday - I am off today YAY sitting in my flannels enjoying coffee until I have to go get the the ol eyes tested then back home and relax. I hope everyone is having a great day. 

Good morning everyone. Glad you have the day off. I went to Walmart yesterday to look at their frames, I picked out which pair, so just have to get the eye exam and order the glasses. I like them, they are sort of like Sara Pallin's glasses. I was concerned if they fall apart easily, but I guess not, so that is good.

Thanks, and cheap, the frame itself is only 49 bucks, but I'm sure by the time I'm out of there, that will triple 

That's about what I paid for mine at Walmart, I need to get my eyes done again, then get new ones.

I'm thinking about getting that, I don't know what it is called, when you go outside they turn into sunglasses. That way I don't have to wear my contacts all the time. I will see what that costs. My eyes are bad, so I'm sure the lenses won't be cheap. I'm just afraid with the ones that I picked out, the lenses won't look like coke bottles 

I am thinking about doing the same thing when I get my new glasses because I have lost my prescription sunglasses. My eyes are bad as well, plus I can't wear contacts because my eyes are a strange shape.

ha! that is exactly what I am doing...sitting in my flannels, drinking coffee..enjoying life! no where in particular to go or to do today...so I may just stay like this till later this afternoon..

I wish I was in my flannels drinking coffee. I am at work and freezing. 

  That does sound good. I'm getting ready to walk the dog, and water the plants. It will be 75 degrees today, so I'm sure I'll be complaining I'm too warm 

if it was 75 degrees here I would be rockin and rollin! I love hot weather...it is cold here again today...sigh...wishing it would get really warm fast!

I'm with you there cookie, I wish it was 75 degrees here. I am sick of cold weather.

We are suppose to warm up to 60 by the end of the week. I am so looking forward to it.  It's been in the high 20's and high 30's.  So 60 sounds great.

We got 7 more inches of snow last night here in Ky. so 75 sounds like heaven. We don't usually get this much snow here. A Gore appears nuttier every day !

I never cared for Al, actually I can't stand Tipper more  I'd gladly switch places.

VANCOUVER (Reuters) - Johnny Weir was forced to abandon his vow to never again live in the confines of a "communal athletes village" after the "crazy fur people" issued death threats against the American fashionista.

The figure skater felt the full wrath of animal rights activists PETA after he wore a fur-trimmed outfit at last month's U.S. Nationals.

The self-styled diva makes no secret of liking his own space and creature comforts but for the second Winter Games in succession, he has been forced to "rough it" -- albeit in a room lit with scented candles and decorated with pink bath mats.

"All these crazy fur people definitely changed my mind. Security wise, staying in a hotel would be very difficult," Weir told reporters after turning up for an 0800 news conference sporting a striking red and white silk scarf looped around his neck and with his nails manicured.

"There have been threats against me. Threats of harming me personally and I didn't want to get hurt. So I decided to stay in the village and my team has made it as comfortable as possible.

"I don't want any outside influences to hurt my chances here. Even though I'm not always comfortable rooming with somebody or being in a communal village sort of situation, it's what I've got to deal with."

Weir, who plans to join the fashion world once he has hung up his "leather skates made of cow" for good, felt he was unfairly targeted.

"There was a lot of attention put on a tiny piece of fur," said the 25-year-old, the 2008 world bronze medalist. "While I do understand anti-fur activists views about fur and the fur industry, they aren't part of my life.

"One thing that is horrible is when somebody pushes a belief on you like a religion. I was definitely threatened and felt very threatened. People are nuts.

"I'm an easy person to pick on because I'm very open I like fur and I like things that come from dead animals. It's easy put your cause against an athlete going to the Olympic Games, it's good free publicity for these activists.

"I'm not a huge politician that gets these threats all the time. I mean I'm a figure skater. It's not normal to receive a threat that really threatens your life. It's a very scary thing."

However, while the uproar forced him to ditch the costume and pick a more tame outfit for the Vancouver Olympics, Weir has no plans to change his taste in wearing fur again.

"If I still want to compete, if I felt the costume needed fur, I would wear fur. If all this happens again I get a bodyguard," he added with a smile.

Monkeys, I hope you are having a better day than I am. Last night while I was chatting here in this thread, my monitor screen just went all wobbly. Looks like it is under water! VERY hard to look at for more than 15 seconds or so. We worked on fixing it last night, tried a different monitor, still does it. Hubby thinks a video card he will buy today and install tonight will fix it. (It has integrated video now, not a card.) He thinks that will bypass the problem. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Guess I'll go get some stuff done around here today. I'll be back when I am functioning again and can catch up then. I miss you all!
