Gee - is it any surprise that Dompig is upholding this latest story from Joran?

Holloway fell over balcony, says Van der Sloot

Friday 26 February 2010

American teenager Natalee Holloway was killed after falling off a balcony at a friend's home after drinking whisky and taking cocaine, main suspect Joran van der Sloot is reported as saying in a German tv interview.

The Telegraaf, which has seen the 2.5 hour interview, says an emotional Van der Sloot made the confession in a hotel room in Dusseldorf.

Former police chief Gerard Dompig, who was involved in the initial investigation into Holloway's disappearance on the Caribbean island of Aruba in May 2005, says he believes the claim is worth further investigation.

Van der Sloot's new story fits with the time line and is very specific on the details, he told the Telegraaf.

Aruban officials have already dismissed the new statement as 'fantasy and lies'.

Whisky

In the statement, Van der Sloot says he, Natalie and another friend went to the friend's house where they took cocaine and drunk whisky.

Natalee climbed on to the edge of the balcony, he said. 'I think she was really drunk, so she started doing a sort of half strip tease, like she did on stage at Carls & Charlies,' he said.

'I walked to her to dance with her a bit, and I held her hips and when I let go she fell over the balcony.'

When the two ran down stairs, they found Natalee on the ground with a lot of blood. 'I think she hit the ground with her head first,' he is quoted as saying.

The two young men then put the body in a car and hit it in a swamp, he claims.

Alibi

The other youth has been given an alibi by his mother, the Telegraaf reports.

The new confession will be broadcast on RTL5 on Sunday night.

In 2008, Dutch tv crime journalist Peter R. de Vries claimed he had solved the mystery surrounding the girl's disappearance using a plant and a hidden camera.

During the programme, Van der Sloot told the plant, who was working for De Vries, that the girl was completely drunk and died while they were on the beach. Her body, he said, was dumped at sea.

Rob - Freddy used to live at Montanja 39F but the house/apt was for sale.  It's now called Aruba Villa Montanja:

Why did Deepak and Satish need to return Freddy's camera?

I don't believe this map is very accurate or to scale:

Klaas - I have Freddy's house somewhere .. let me see if I can find it. It's 200 yards from the Sloots, and this is where he lived with his mother...

I'm not sure if that's in my old laptop - but I'll look. IIRC, that house looked like it could have a balcony. Also, IIRC it was two stories high.

What a load of dramatics and crap. It is funny how he always feels the need to go back to her
head wound.

* Joran isnt worried about an accidental head wound.

* Joran isnt worried about whiskey in her bloodstream.

* Joran isnt worried even if coke was in her bloodstream. (which it probably was not)

It was murder. It ALWAYS was murder... until they found out the murderer was a Van der sloot.

Then she ran away.

----

Great PR work for Aruba though, Joran. They LOVE you down there for keepin Natalees story
alive for 5 years running.

Keep up the great work!

I have it too but having problems finding it.  Yes, it appeared to be 2 story but I don't know if it was condo or duplex or what.

his place in Saventa doesn't look like it has a balcony... but maybe, I'm not totally sure.

OM says the friend was alibied by his mother.  Who of Joran's friends lives with possibly only a mother - no father?

Does Freddie fit here?

For some reason I think Jamie lives with his mother... No father..

He did get one thing right, though.

Blunt force trauma to the head.

Whenever Joran dances remotely close to truth, I guess that should be considered an EVENT
worthy of global wide media attention!

I forget how it all shook out Jen... they have two house - 39 and 62... he lived in the house closest (62 Montanja) with his mother IIRC and father lived in 39...both houses are very close to each other as you can see from the maps.

I don't believe any of it.  She may have fallen trying to climb the Sloot gate, as told early on.

Max Arends' family has been on the island a long time and would probably have an ancestral home.

you made me think of something Klaas...

how come there was never a description of the camera... it was never said what make or model. Never said if it was a Canon, Olympus, Nikon... etc..

And why would Freddy have Anita's camera...

it was never said if it was a regular digital camera or a video camera.

I just hope they distinguish what was actually said while hooked to the polygraph as opposed to his before and after comments.
