::justice2NJ::  We didn't learn where Gabriel may be, or what happened, but it's good to see TS will be held accountable for her part (still wonder if it's her only part, tho).  She knew what she was doing was wrong, but her playing stupid act caught up with her this time.  moo  Thanks for the updates, very much appreciated.

How much time will TS face, anyone know?

Talking head on HLN said possible 3yrs 9 months per count
Thanks!

Tammi Smith Found Guilty in Connection to Baby Gabriel Case

Jury found Scottsdale woman guilty of forgery and conspiracy to commit custodial interference.

A jury finds a Scottsdale woman guilty of forgery and conspiracy to commit custodial interference in connection to the missing baby Gabriel case.

Gabriel Johnson disappeared in December 2009 when he was eight months old and has never been found.

Jurors found that Smith had worked with the baby's mother, Elizabeth Johnson, to deprive Gabriel's father, Logan McQueary, of access to his baby, and that she forged a signature on a legal document related to the case.

Smith will be sentenced in early July.  She faces a sentence of between 1 year and 3.75 years in prison on each count.  Prison is mandatory for the conspirary charge; Smith may be eligible for probation on the forgery charge.

Good Evening Monkeys , can't believe I missed this trial.  So glad this biotch is found guilty. Hope they slap her with the maximum sentence. And slap that smug smile off her face. Yep God is good.

They better keep an eye on her or she will be on the run.

What do you think this will do to the adoption process of the new baby or is that a done deal?

The baby's father, Logan McQueary, was firm right away: He wanted to raise his son and would not relinquish his rights.

So began Smith's plots to wear McQueary down, according to testimony and court records. They included:

Questioning his paternity. To do this, Smith forged the name of her cousin, Craig Cherry, on an official document as a possible "real" father of Gabriel.

Urging Johnson to go to woman's shelter and claim McQueary beat her.

Going to a jurisdiction where it was harder for fathers to establish rights. This had worked for Tammi and Jack Smith when they adopted Hannah, the first illegitimate child of Jack's daughter, whom they adopted in Tennessee, according to testimony.

Telling McQueary that Johnson, who had fled with Gabriel to San Antonio, would return with the baby if he signed over his rights to the Smiths.

Telling the custody-case judge that Johnson would only return with Gabriel if the Smiths had legal rights to the child.

Trying to adopt Elizabeth.

Complaining to a judge every time McQueary was late with any payment or didn't return Gabriel on time to his mother.

Smith testified that in the end she was only trying to get Johnson to return with Gabriel because she had "bonded" with McQueary and felt his pain.

"Today's verdicts are just the latest step in our efforts to seek justice for Gabriel Johnson and hold accountable those who are responsible for his disappearance," said Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery.

Smith maintains her innocence and will appeal Thursday's verdict, her lawyer, Benjamin Taylor, told HLN's "Prime News."

"We're disappointed in the verdict and we're going to move on with our life and go from there," he said.

Frank McQueary, the boy's grandfather, said the family's hopes of finding the child alive are fading.

"Nobody has seen Gabriel for almost three years now," McQueary told HLN. "It's been a long time, and I just don't think there's anyone out there hiding this baby at this point."

Judge said he was not taking her into custody today.  WHY NOT??  Anyone know as the prosecution said she is facing jail time.

I have no idea.
I was hoping to see her cuffed and led away.
Quite frankly, I believe if this had been you or me (meaning no publicity) we would have been carted off to jail, cross clutching or not.  But I am delighted in the verdict and the jury's desire to see accountability.
On a personal level, anyone who wears a cross as jewelry and not for what it represents is pond scum.  God is not to be mocked.  JMO.

who he was supposed to visit Christmas Eve, when he was at the S's.

Although I want to hold out hope Gabriel is alive, it is not based on any reasoning or logic, just plain hope.

Montgomery: Work not done in search for baby Gabriel
May 23, 2012

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Nearly a week after one of the women accused in the disappearance of baby Gabriel Johnson was found guilty, Maricopa County attorney Bill Montgomery said they are continuing efforts to find the boy.
"As far as our pursuit of the truth in determining the whereabouts of baby Gabriel, that was a significant step, but our work is not done," Montgomery said.

Tammi Smith was found guilty of forgery and conspiracy to commit custodial interference.

Gabriel's mother, Elizabeth Johnson, is expected to go on trial later this year. She is charged with kidnapping.

Judge Kreamer denies Elizabeth Johnson's motion on release conditions. He says Johnson is a significant flight risk based on past behavior.
