Yes folks I thought a HOOTERS was pretty low when it came to be in Aruba but now there is a party bus called ARUBA GONE WILD. And Aruba has !!! I saw it the other night on a completely conjested main street on Palm Beach. Besides the noise from the party bus there were so many people wandering the area you would have thought it was mid town Manhattan @ rush hour. What has happened to quiet and relaxation???? Too many buildings, too many people and no respect for others. I stopped by the excelsior casino and came out at 11:15 p.m. to find a man with his 3 children ages between 3-10 all there with him on the sofas outside. What is a 3 year old doing sitting outside a casino @ 11:15 p.m.. There were many families with very young children out late.

In the low rise area there were babies crying on the beach and the parents didn't know to take the kids inside. I just had a toddler run under my feet at a bar while I watched the NCAA and had some lunch. Why is the child running around in the bar? Some people in the bar were taking drinks in GLASS containers into the pool - hello broken glass/cut feet/pool closed- wake up !!!

It seems even mother nature is not happy as it has been very very HOT and HUMID and especially
cloudy and hazy in the a.m. - it even rained Thursday morning very heavy for a bit. Certain outdoor restaurants have had a biting bug/mosquito problem.

Still enjoying Aruba (If you know the Alan Sherman Camp Granada Song).
People just need to realize how their actions can affect others vacations.

I read an article the other day, police responded to a call about problems on one of the party buses.  The driver of the bus was too drunk to continue so they had to all wait there for another driver to arrive to continue the tour.  It was also mentioned that there were underage teens drinking on the bus too.

Underage drinkers in Aruba would be what?  2 year olds?

Aruba had a rousing national holiday, the dia di bandera y hymno. Because despite rains after a long period of drought was exuberant festival celebrated with lots of music, speeches and a parade of uniformed groups.

The anthem Aruba Dushi Tera early fifties was composed by Rufo Wever and Padu Lampe. The latter, now almost 90 years is still singing lustily. Also present was the Antillean Prime Minister De Jongh-Elhage, who hopes to again next year as Prime Minister of the country Curaçao.

Music belongs to an Aruban party. And there was plenty of music: a brass band, a choir, a soloist and many drum bands. Aruban Once a song is played, are even dignitaries, including Governor Frits Goedgedrag Antillean and Aruban counterpart Fredis Refunjol, rocking along.

Anthem
Wever and Lampe had no idea that their composition would be the national anthem, says Lampe. He still appears in almost every public occasion. Even now it is at the guests of honor at the first row. First was the song of two verses later he created as third. It makes him especially well that the song everyone singing lustily.

Speeches
A national happening in Aruba is not complete without speeches. Traditionally given by the Minister of Culture and the Prime Minister. The new Minister Michelle Winklaar pointed to what Aruba that could be better. She called for greater openness to each other and that people outside of Aruba with an open mind will be met. Premier Mike Eman had the blessings of Aruba. People who wondered where all that came, had to look up there.

Antillean guests
Traditionally there were guests present from the Netherlands Antilles. Prime Minister Emily de Jongh-Elhage wanted its presence to convey the idea that the Antillean and Aruban people are sister nations in the Kingdom. She hopes that the last time when she is present in the Antillean Prime dia di bandera y hymno. As the famous 10-10-10 date continues, next year there will be a delegation Curaçao. She hopes that the people of Curaçao her as prime minister the country has chosen Curaçao.

Zodra een Arubaans liedje wordt gespeeld, zitten zelfs de hoogwaardigheidsbekleders, waaronder de Antilliaanse gouverneur Frits Goedgedrag en zijn Arubaanse ambtgenoot Fredis Refunjol, mee te wiegen.

Volkslied
Wever en Lampe hadden er geen idee van dat hun compositie de nationale hymne zou worden, zo vertelt Lampe. Hij verschijnt nog bij bijna elke openbare gelegenheid. Ook nu zit hij bij de eregasten op de eerste rij. Eerst bestond het lied uit twee coupletten, later heeft hij er een derde bijgemaakt. Het doet hem vooral goed dat iedereen het lied uit volle borst meezingt.

Speeches
Een nationale happening is op Aruba niet compleet zonder toespraken. Traditiegetrouw worden die gegeven door de minister van cultuur en de premier. De nieuwe minister Michelle Winklaar duidde aan wat op Aruba nog beter zou kunnen. Ze pleitte voor meer openheid naar elkaar en dat mensen die van buiten Aruba komen met een open mind tegemoet worden getreden. Premier Mike Eman telde de zegeningen van Aruba. Mensen die zich afvroegen waar die allemaal vandaan kwamen, moesten eens naar boven kijken.

Antilliaanse gasten
Traditiegetrouw waren er ook gasten uit de Nederlandse Antillen aanwezig. Premier Emily de Jongh-Elhage wilde met haar aanwezigheid uitdrukking geven aan de gedachte dat het Antilliaanse en het Arubaanse volk broedervolken zijn binnen het Koninkrijk. Zij hoopt dat het de laatste keer is dat ze als Antilliaanse premier aanwezig is op de dia di hymno y bandera. Als de fameuze datum 10-10-10 doorgaat, zal er volgend jaar een Curaçaose delegatie zijn. Ze hoopt dat het Curaçaose volk haar dan als premier van het land Curaçao heeft gekozen.

Thumbs up to your post, MisGivings! I believe that Beth has already reached partial closure with Joran's first recorded confession, however, I know she would like Natalee's remains far away from the hellhole that is Aruba. I know the family would love her remains to come home where her memory is respected and revered. She would have come home with her classmates 5 years ago had it not been for murdering slimebags. Those classmates have moved on with their lives and successes, while Natalee's promise and potential were abruptly ended. It's always eaten at me that even her remains have not been able to escape.

I hope that the last insult to her will not remain unchanged. I hope her remains can be laid to rest by a loving family, and that no longer will any aspect of who and what Natalee was be imprisoned by the den of evil and corruption called Aruba!

   Just poppin in and checking things after this photo showed up.Personally,I still think Natalee was already found on the bottom of the ocean in a trap...  Bones turning to powder..It just doesn't seem logical to me that this is her. After-all,only God knows how many folks come up missing in Aruba and surrounding areas so this could simply just be a drug dealer gone down..Still believing in justice for Natalee one day but I do believe she was found and then went missing again... My hinky meter never left that trap...jmo

From my understanding the tourist didn't die, they were able to resuscitate him/her and they were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Hmmm. I've dove and snorkel countless times, and I know things are not exactly as they appear. When she was interviewed on CNN she didn't mention which boat they were on, but they all visit the same general locations. Each company uses the same moorings.

Time will tell.

Not sure if this photo is one this person took and they think it's the same thing/location or what.

Whether the picture depicts human remains or not …I am thankful that this couple came forward. Once again media attention has been focused on the Natalee Holloway case … a case that was solved on May 30, 2005 but … a case in which a cover up agenda was established … a case in which the decision was made that justice would not prevail for an American citizen.
