That is my point TracyGirl.. ALL LE in out nation should go on high alert when no indicator of runaway exists..

In Amber's case we did have people calling into police and indicating that she was seen walking in a park, they also had a cell phone ping the next day and even in san Diego a man called in that he had seen her in balboa park.
As time went on it became apparent to LE that they made irreversible mistakes in the beginning of Amber's disappearance.
As you said she had no history of runaway..her grades good. no CPS at the home.. all indicators of a happy life.
Amber's friends were also no help.. and other people said they had seen Amber walking..

ALL OF THEM INCORRECT.

This is what led LE Astray... It is a learning experience, unfortunately we do not know how long Amber was kept alive.. Had they moved faster and broke down the doors of sex offenders would it have saved Amber ?
It will eat on everyones conscience forever.
Poor Amber.

I will not believe Amber is dead untill she is found. We are looking at this culprit for his behaviors with Chelsea for clues as to what or where Amber is now.
I hope he leads them to the bodies.

Upon our request for information on Gardner’s arrest, we received the following from the San Diego Sheriff’s Office, which seems to indicate he has been charged with first degree murder:

My daughter and her friends walk, jog in the same area. It could have been them had they not always gone together. She said, there are so many areas off the path where anything could happen and nobody would see a thing. She is understandably upset, thinking it could have been one of her friends who lives in that area. People come from all around the county to use that trail.

I can just imagine, how this has all shattered the area, with Chelsea and Amber

That is the only site I can find a listing for him. It says no alias's but It hink that is known aliases. Honestly, look him up on veromi even..not there and everyone is found on there, lol.

I even did an address search for the Lake Elsenore addy and he does not come up. I did a search under the addy for the apartment edward listed, nothing. I did a california search, nothing. Either I need a break or there is no John Albert Gardner III born 4/09/1979.

DNA can be done very quickly - don't let 'em fool you with all this backlog non-sense. And when someone is missing and feared murdered and raped - they do expedite those samples to the front of the line. It's logical and makes sense, and in this case Gardner is not going on a crime spree while samples are processed. This is a good move - however it's after the fact and someone committing crimes on 13 year olds should not have been in any position to commit any future crimes.

The underwear being recovered was the item that allowed a sample along with the sexual predator data-base cross-reference. Gardner was in that data-base.

As for Megan's Law and Jessica's law and any other laws - predators do not respect laws. I won't out and out call it all a failure, but there's nothing that can really be done other than locking them up and throwing away the key. Most here already know that. The recidivism rate is over 80%. That's too high to try and figure out who may offend and who may not. The odds just aren't there for any consideration for these predators.

The two choices are - execution on first offense or life in prison (with no possibility of parole) if a crime has been committed on a young person under the age of 14. Hopefully the age of idiocy will be coming to an end after the next election cycle and we will finally have representatives that take crimes against our children seriously.

Any way - prayers for Chelsea and her family and all who knew and loved her. She sounded like a lovely and wonderful young lady that had so much to give.

Why on earth did they not listen to the psychiatrist???? from the sounds of it he is saying he needed to be kept off the streets.
Has anyone found out anything about where he worked?

These shrinks make me sick!! There is no "known treatment" PERIOD......whether they admit to the crime/show remorse or not! Effin' Docs are just in it for the money. They have to know there is 'no cure'. They all make me sick.

Chelsea went missing on Thursday. He is arrested on Sunday with mud up to his knees. My question is, what do you suppose he had been doing to get mud up to his knees? To go out to dinner in public with obvious mud on the clothing, is like flaunting it...IMHO

I can't seem to find how many years he actually served of his 6 year sentence in the prior conviction... certainly not all 6 

SIX YEARS for his punishment makes me sick too! When will our injustice system 'get it'???

Of course ultimately nutt you are correct. At least with this one case he was admitting nothing would work. Even with that, he was not listened to. He tries to rape a 13 year old and he is basically slapped on the wrist and sent home after a mear 5 years. I think even before that happened in 2000 he attempted to rape a 14 year old in 1999.
So he gets out in 2005, fear as a bird...you think he waited until 2/2010 to strick again? Me thinks not. I would bet a bag full of peanuts there is a long line of victims.
Where on earth were the people who are supposed to monitor these freaks? He changed his addy to an addy he didn't seem to live at and they didn't figure it out? He was staying with his mom around the corner from an elementary school and they didn't know it? WTH??? This is a train wreck.

Apparently his vehicle or what was found inside of it was evidence when they found him.
