It never made sense that in the bartenders murder that the suspect drove a long long way to drop off her body on a deselent road like running springs.. like they have the wrong guy..

Oh gosh I remember Running springs. Something happened there back in the 1990's, what was it, does any so californian recall?

I think another search needs to be done near the high school for Amber as well as near his old residence in Running Springs.


running springs is where the body of the victim from redondo beach abduction of the bartender woman was found ..
That culprit is supposedly in jail and on trial.

It is also a spot I suggested searching for Amber Dubois in her thread.. We have talked about running springs road before..
It is also on the backside of san bernadino where the little boy got kidnapped from by F.B.I. known and identified suspects that we have photos of..

Candice Moncayo, a graduate student in Colorado Springs, was shown a mug shot of Gardner and confirmed it was the same man who attacked her in February, according to her sister.
Collins, however, said a swab taken from the elbow of the Colorado woman did not match Gardner's DNA.

So.....she identified him, but his DNA did not match? I am having a really hard time swallowing that. I could have sworn that I heard that it was a match.

Former Resident May Face Death Penalty (Update2)

Update 2 - Wednesday 4:05 a.m.

San Diego, CA - John Albert Gardner III - a former mountain resident - will appear in court today possibly facing the death penalty following the discovery of a body believed to be 17-year-old Chelsea King.


Gardner is set for arraignment on rape and murder charges at 2:30 p.m. in San Diego Superior Court. He has been held in solitary confinement without bail in the Central Jail in Downtown San Diego since his arrest after evidence linked him to the teenager's disappearance.

On March 2, a body believed to be that of the young Poway High School senior, was discovered in a shallow grave on the banks of Lake Hodges in Escondido.

Update - Tuesday 4:15 p.m.

Escondido, CA - A body has been located in a shallow grave near Lake Hodges and is believed to be that of Chelsea King.


Rim High graduate John Albert Gardner III is suspected of raping and killing the 17-year-old King.


San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore told a new conference he has notified the family it was a "strong likelihood" the body was that of the missing teenager.


The body was found early this afternoon by searchers looking for the Poway High School senior.

San Diego, CA - The suspect in the possible murder and rape of a 17-year-old San Diego County girl has been confirmed to be a 1997 graduate of Rim of the World High School.


John Albert Gardner III, now 30, was a resident of the Running Springs area while attending Rim High, according to a school source who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak on behalf of the district.


Gardner, is suspected of abducting 17-year-old Chelsea King on February 25 while she was running near Lake Hodges at Rancho Bernardo Community Park. Her automobile, a BMW, was located with her cell phone and iPod still inside the vehicle.

Search teams continue looking for the Poway High School senior in and around Lake Hodges.


In 1998, Gardner was convicted of disturbing the peace in Twin Peaks Superior Court related to what was described as a disruptive presence at a school, according to court and police records obtained by RIMOFTHEWORLD.net. He was listed as a Running Springs resident at the time of that conviction.

San Diego County Sheriff William Gore, who appeared on ABC's Good Morning America with the missing girl's parents, explained Gardner was linked to King's disappearance by a piece of physical evidence uncovered by investigators.


Gardner, a registered sex offender who served five years in prison for lewd or lascivious acts with a 13-year-old girl in 2000, is being held at the San Diego Central Jail in San Diego. His current Megan's Law registration show he is a resident of Lake Elsinore and he renewed his registration in November 2009, according to authorities.


Deputies arrested Gardner at a Del Dios restaurant — Hernandez Hide-A-Way — located on the west shore of Lake Hodges on Sunday, February 28.


Since the investigation began, Gardner has also been linked to a December 27 assault of a 22-year-old female jogger in the same park and have taken a new look at the case from last year involving the disappearance of Escondido teenager, Amber Dubois.

Perhaps Rim and Running Springs ought to change their names ala Wineville that changed its name to Mira Loma after the Chicken coop murders in the 1930s.

Being a local, I think they better move and fast. I have never seen so much outrage in San Diego county. As mad as I am, I do not want to see anything happen to his parents. One of them or both may be able to get this monster to talk! We need to be able to find any other victims that are out there!

Sorry; should have added that it was related to disturbing the peace, so if he was checking out the girls, he must have been really obvious, loud, or lewd in doing so!

Not sure if anyone saw this story that 10 News San Diego aired last night but apparently last fall..a couple in Escondido saw what they think was JAG watching girls running. This was in Jesmond Dene park on the north side of the city...only a few blocks from Amber Dubois high school. They reported to EPD..but is unknown what became of it.                 The video I posted is a couple of posts up.

Okay, I actually went to High School with John and was friends with some of the people he was friends with, and here's what I can tell you

He's a Rim of the World High School grad, class of '97. I've seen a few people leave comments about how they went to High School with him and that he was a "creep" then, but the fact of the matter is, he was seen as nice, charasmatic, and was VERY well liked. No one who knew him could believe the charges against him in 2000. He had people lined up to be character witnesses for him in court, but eventually admitted that he'd done it. We were all SHOCKED when we heard what a monster he truly was. It just goes to show that you don't truly know anyone.


From what I know of his former girlfriends (one of which he has twin boys with) they were both very small and petite-- just like the girls he's been attacking.

As for the twins, this shouldn't be seen as a huge thing, as from what I understand he's had no contact with them for quite some time. And she did know about his past, but this person is pretty much the sweetest, kindest most optimistic person in the world, and if there was anyone who could still see "good" in someone like him, it was her. Please don't judge her. She also knew him before the incident in 2000, and, like I said, if you knew John then, you didn't just know him as the child killer he is now. She just chose to believe in the facade, not his true self.

As for the 'roid rage theory, I doubt it. He seems to have fluxuated in neck size, but I think that has more to do with the pictures than him. He'd always been a beefy guy in the neck area... he's kind of built like a football player. He also doesn't really look like the guy in the Walmart video and it's kind of too young for his M.O. but I guess it's possible.

All I can say is that there is one saving grace in this tragedy, and that is that he left evidence behind and that he'll never be able to do this again. I cried when I heard they found Chelsea's body. Hopefully this case will change the way sexual preditors are processed in the system.  (From WS)
