this was the problem me neighbor had

she had a horse, goat, dogs, cats, chickens etc

and she couldnt get water until i saved the day  Cool

You have a generator that will run a well pump?  My well is approx 500 ft deep and I was told there was no such animal.   Sad

There is not always snow on the ground when power lines are down unfortunately.  Especially following an ice storm like this one.  Obviously if it were that simple, these people would have handled it themselves and seem to be just toughing it out but I do agree with Frijole that few people even know this condition exists there now.

.

i think you can get one TODAY for around 1200.00
thats a DEEP WELL  Shocked

Anna,

if you want a generator for 240v and economical, you just have to look in the proper places.

240 V 13hp generator

Humm, even Sears has them:

Sears 10hp 120/240v generator

Anna you have apparently gotten some wrong advice on your well operation or you misunderstood the answer or they didn't understand the question.

The new Honda EU3000is inverter generator is idea for homes without 220 Volt emergency requirements. If you own a higher output generator with 220-volt capability, you should consider having an appropriate manual transfer switch professionally installed in your home for your added convenience and safety. The Honda EM5000S is a great choice for homeowners with larger power requirements such as deep well water pumps. Contact your nearest Honda Generator dealer or qualified electrician to determine the best transfer switch to match your generator choice

Oh and these molesters make me SICK.. SICK.. SICK.. SICK..
How the hell do they get away with this BS.. go to jail.. get let out.. only to do it all over again. They need to lock'em up and throw away the key.. anad let Bubba have a crak at their sick ass in jail .  Evil or Very Mad
I was warned when I started my new job..  about pedophiles that come into the store.. cause we  have kids some in that buy chips.. etc. its really hard to keep quiet aand not cuss'em out like a truck driver.
I honestly do not think comitting a Lorenna Bobbit act on these assholes would even work.. its gotta be a sick part od their brain. IMO

Torture below the waist for life maybe?

I agree with that totally.. Bobbit the pricks. BUT..I thini its an illness in the brain.. even if their thingy is cutt off. ? IMO

I agree that is a brain problem.  But there have been cases where they have castrated and also had some predators ask to be castrated, which is one way to take away the "craving" so to speak....  Sort of like a dog being neutered.

A propane or nat gas burning generator is a great choice for anyone who has propane or nat gas heat in their homes.

If you are on well water, the 5 kW generator will run the well pump alone, but if you have electric water heater with a 30 amp breaker, you'll need 6,600 watts. A 5 kW generator will barely do the job. You need at least a 10 kW generator if you're an electric household. Same goes for heat pumps usually requiring 8,800 watts. 10 kW units are very expensive, $5,000 and up.

it all depends on what you want the generator to do

like i said,, for some people that have a wood stove or propane heat
BUT need the generator to RUN the well... a 6600 watt generator will do it

i think around 1200.00

A standard Coleman or DeVilbiss 5kW unit with a seven gallon tank is available for $500. If you want electric start plan on $1500 and up.

Utility companies and building codes require a fail safe switching device to go between the generator and the power panel.

 $250  to install !!!

plus the parts  Evil or Very Mad

LOL  This has been to most humorous episode of "How the Mugs Travel" I have ever seen.  Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Actually you don't have to consider running well pump continously, only when flushing toilets or filling a water jug.

One can be somewhat judicious in electrical useage in an emergency situation.
