Another older article, but has some information.

Suspect in teen's disappearances says he's being harassed
August 12, 2011SCOTLAND NECK, N.C. — A Scotland Neck man whom detectives are calling a suspect in a local girl's disappearance more than a year ago says Halifax County sheriff's investigators have been harassing him

The claim comes two days after Dwayne Davis says investigators busted through the door of his home Wednesday to carry out a search warrant related to more than a dozen 911 calls originating from or around his address.

Search warrants made available Thursday indicate that the cellphone calls, from someone who appears to be trying to impersonate a female caller, started in June 2010, in the area where Dwayne Davis lives at 235 Cemetery Road.

Jalesa Reynolds disappeared Feb. 22, 2010, and investigators traced her Internet activity from a local library to a home on Cemetery Road.

"These calls have originated after Mr. Davis became a suspect in a case where a female juvenile is missing from the Scotland Neck area and is known to have been in the presence of Mr. Davis prior to her disappearance," the search warrant's affidavit says.

The document doesn't name Reynolds, but police said Friday that there are no other girls in Scotland Neck who have been reported missing.

Why on earth would this sicko or someone close to him make these 911 calls in a girls voice with gun shots audible in background?  They have all been traced to his residence according to the warrant affidavit.  If he is trying to throw LE off it wasnt very effective or smart.  I'm not criminally smart and def not creative but would know calling 911 just isn't a smart thing to do!!!!  I hope they find something to lock him up on for a while to investigate the home and area better for this poor young lady.

Still no sign of Jalesa Reynolds.  I hope some day soon there will be answers.

Mr. Pace has been found and can now be laid to rest.  It's been a long, long time.   an angelic monkey

Experts join search for missing Scotland Neck woman
Fri Oct 19, 2012.

SCOTLAND NECK — A group of experts joined Scotland Neck police Wednesday in the renewed search for a missing woman, last seen in 2010.

Scotland Neck Police Chief Joe Williams said personnel from the Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office joined his department on a search of the area near Cemetery Road, where 18-year-old Jalesa Reynolds was last seen.

Williams said there were no new tips or indications that prompted the search.

Missing teen's case to go to prosecutors, police chief says
October 19

Scotland Neck, N.C. — Scotland Neck's police chief said Friday that investigators plan to present the nearly 3-year-old case of a missing teenager to the Halifax County District Attorney's Office in the coming weeks.

Chief Joe Williams did not say exactly when that might be or whether they have any suspects in the Feb. 22, 2010, disappearance of Jalesa Reynolds, 18.

He did say that, although the Reynolds' disappearance is still classified as a missing persons case, authorities think foul play was involved.

Search crews find no leads in missing Scotland Neck woman
Updated: October 19, 2012 - 10:49 PM

SCOTLAND NECK, N.C. - A missing person's case, thought to have grown cold, got new life this week.

It's been nearly three years since anyone's seen Jalesa Reynolds of Scotland Neck. She was 18-years-old when she went missing.

After three days of retracing their steps, using additional resources than before and even draining a small pond - search parties are no closer to finding Jalesa Reynolds.

"Just a waiting process and hoping to God, praying for the best," said Bernice Reynolds, ”Every day goes by - you can't help but think about it."

For Jalesa's Reynold's mother, Bernice, it's like opening a wound that never fully healed. Close to three years later and the search is back on for her daughter.
