Family, police seek help locating 16-year-old girl last seen in Dover

DOVER — A family is putting fliers up around the city to help locate a 16-year-old girl who was living at the Dover Children's Home before running away on June 30.

Carly Emerson is originally from the Keene area, police said. Her disappearance is not considered suspicious. Police are classifying her case as a "missing person," but believe she ran away.

The police issued the following description of Carly: White female, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds with hazel eyes and auburn or brown hair.

The flier has some differences in the description of Carly. It says she is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds and describes her hair color as "Last Known — Auburn." There are two pictures of Carly on the flier. In one her hair is swept up on top of her head. In the other, her hair is down and about shoulder length.

Help Bring Carly Emerson Home
I want to take this time to thank everyone for their prayers, words of encouragement and the help given me in trying to locate my daughter, Carly. Carly turned herself into the authorities today and will be on her way back to NH. She is fine physically, but she has a long road ahead to repair her mental health.
