False alarm over Amber Alert could carry charges
By PAIGE HEWITT

Sunday, March 7, 2010

Charges are pending against a 34-year-old man who told police that a 6-year-old boy was asleep in his SUV when it was carjacked early Sunday, prompting an Amber Alert.

Police have learned that man invented the child in hopes of speeding up the recovery of his 2000 red Navigator.

The man, who faces a charge of felony false alarm response, was carjacked at a store in the 7700 block of Bellaire.

Man needs to be charged for the false report given about the child, imo.  Throw the book at him.  Make an example of him. All of course, jmho
