Similar to the Holloway case, van der Sloot allegedly met at a night spot, in this case, a casino. Ricardo Flores said he did not believe that his daughter knew the Dutch citizen from before.

Both of them speak English, and at the casino they struck up conversation, he said.

This is just tragic.  That poor girl.

50 blocks away though.  So either Joran dumped the car after he killed her, and either took a cab or had a friend there to drive him.  If it was a friend, I wonder if it was the same person in the black truck who drove him to Chile?

With Natalee and this girl he preyed on girls whose families will pursue the matter. Authorities should now look at cases of missing or murdered girls whose families do not have such strong resources.

Holloway suspect sought in Peru murder

LIMA, Peru — A young Dutchman previously arrested in the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway is the prime suspect in a weekend murder of a Peruvian woman, police said Wednesday.

Joran van der Sloot is being sought in the Sunday killing of 21-year-old Stephany Flores in a Lima hotel, Criminal police chief Gen. Cesar Guardia told a news conference. He said the suspect fled the country the next day by land to Chile.

The Dutch government said Interpol has issued an international arrest warrant for Van der Sloot.

Guardia said the 22-year-old Dutchman, who was in the country for a poker tournament, appears with the young woman in a video taken at a Lima casino early Sunday.

The victim's father, Ricardo Flores, told reporters she was killed about 8 a.m. in a hotel room in the upscale Miraflores neighborhood that was splattered with blood, indicating a struggle.

The killing occurred exactly five years after the May 30, 2005, disappearance of Holloway in Aruba, a Dutch Caribbean island.

Van der Sloot left Peru on Monday, Guardia said, according to immigration registry. He had been staying at the hotel since May 14 and checked out on Sunday four hours after he arrived there with the victim, the police general added.

"We have an interview with a worker at the hotel who says she saw this foreigner with the victim enter his room," said Guardia.

Interpol has issued an international arrest warrant for Van der Sloot, Dutch Foreign Ministry spokesman Bengt van Loosdrecht told The Associated Press in The Netherlands.

He cited as his sources Peruvian police and the Dutch Embassy in Lima. The embassy's head of consular affairs, Angela Lowe, told the AP she could not comment on the case.

An attorney for Van der Sloot in New York City, Joe Tacopina, said he did not know his client's whereabouts and has not been in touch with him since the Peru allegations emerged.

Tacopina cautioned against a rush to judgment.

"Joran van der Sloot has been falsely accused of murder once before. The fact is he wears a bull's-eye on his back now and he is a quote-unquote usual suspect when it comes to allegations of foul play," Tacopina said.

Van der Sloot was twice arrested but later released for lack of evidence in the 2005 disappearance of Holloway, who was on a high school graduation trip to the Caribbean island.

No trace of her has been found and van der Sloot remains the main suspect in the case, said Ann Angela, spokeswoman for the Aruba prosecutor's office.

"What's happening now is incredible," she said. "At this moment we don't have anything to do with it, but we are following the case with great interest and if Peruvian authorities would need us, we are here."

Van der Sloot's late father was a prominent judge in Aruba.

The mystery of Holloway's disappearance has garnered wide attention on television and in newspapers in Europe and the United States.

Two years ago, a Dutch television crime reporter captured hidden-camera footage of Van der Sloot saying he was with Holloway when she collapsed on a beach, drunk.

He said believed she was dead and asked a friend to dump her body in the sea.

Judges subsequently refused to arrest van der Sloot on the basis of the tape.

A spokeswoman for Holloway's mother, Beth Twitty of Mountain Brook, Alabama, told the AP the family was aware of the development in Peru but would have no comment.

This killing took place on the hotelroom; it was probably situational - not premeditated.
But PRdV thinks the simmilarities point to involvement of JvdS in this killing.

Crimesider has been told that an Aruban prosecutor described van der Sloot as being on the run, but we have been unable to independently confirm it.


Early Wednesday morning, Stephany Flores Ramirez, 21, was found dead in a hotel room in Peru located on the avenue Miraflores district of Lima, Peruvian newspaper El Comercio reports. According to police reports, the girl was brutally stabbed and was found wrapped in a blanket in a pool of blood.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Joran van der Sloot in the stabbing murder of a Peruvian 22-year-old woman named Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez, according to MSNBC.

Joran van der Sloot was last seen in the company of the victim on Sunday, May 30, by both a hotel guest and an employee at the facility. Joran had been in the company of Stephany Flores the night before, Saturday, May 29, as well. The two were video taped in the Atlantic City Casino.

Stabbing murder on Sunday

According to Criminal police chief Gen. Cesar Guardia, an international arrest warrant has been issued by Interpol since the suspect fled Peru supposedly enroute for Chile after the murder occurred on Sunday, May 30.

Joran van der Sloot was in Peru for a poker tournament, having entered the country on May 14. It is unclear if Stephany participated in the gambling tournament as well.

Bloody stabbing mess in hotel room

Stephany Flores was murdered approximately 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 30, according to her father Ricardo Flores, a Peruvian businessman and race car driver. Joran van der Sloot was the registered occupant of the luxury hotel room in the Miraflores neighborhood of the city.

The room in which Joran had rented, and Stephany's body was found, was covered with blood and showed signs of a struggle.

May murders a coincidence?

Joran van der Sloot has remained a suspect in the May 30 disappearance of another young woman, Natalie Holloway. Holloway was last seen in the company of Joran van der Sloot when she disappeared as well.

Like Stephany Flores, Natalie had been seen with Joran van der Sloot in a hotel casino too. And like Stephany, Natalie was not seen the next morning after spending the evening with Joran van der Sloot. The fact that Natalie disappeared in May of 2005, her body never to be found, and Stephany Flores was murdered in May 2010 has not escaped the notice of law enforcement investigating both cases.

Joran van der Sloot checks out of hotel four hours after arriving with Stephanie

Joran and Stephanie had only been at the hotel for four hours when the Dutch boy absconded Peru. Joran checked out of the hotel room in which Stephany's body would later be found three days later, on Wednesday, June 2.

But Joran did not immediately leave Peru. Instead, he exited the country around 1:42 p.m. in the afternoon on Monday, May 31, according to official reports.

NY city lawyer for van der Sloot comments

"Joran van der Sloot has been falsely accused of murder once before," Joran's New York city lawyer, Joe Tacopina told the press.

The Dutch boy's lawyer cautioned anyone from rushing to judgment on the case, but many have said that is an impossibility given the similarities already glaringly obvious and that Joran van der Sloot fled the premises the day Stephanie Flores is believed to have been stabbed to death in Joran's hotel room in Peru.
