I don't find it creepy at all!At this point,we should all understand what comes outta Aruba......Sh_t!From what I've read in the crime thread Aruba has never, and will never given a Sh_t due to it's proximity and it's usefulness in regards to politcal purposes. Is it right, fair, logical?Absolutely not...But it is,what it is!

Hi msmarple

That storm was terrible.  Our church helps supports a ministry in Yazoo County.  This morning images of the disaster in that area were emailed to one of our members and ... were shown on our overhead.  It unbelievable that the death toll was not higher.  Fortunately ... the neighbourhood where this ministry has its offices were unaffected.

Take care.

REMINDER

'Rita Cosby Live & Direct' - December 6, 2005

BETH TWITTY, MOTHER OF NATALEE HOLLOWAY: ... Remember, within the first 24 hours, we knew who the suspects were. We knew the persons that Natalee were taken from Carlos and Charlie‘s. We knew the license plate of the gray Honda they placed her in. We knew the condition that Natalee was in. We knew the behavior or the conduct in which they engaged in with Natalee.

And then not only that, Jane, within 72 hours, we knew that their first story was totally fabricated, that within the first 72 hours, I faced a room of 12 -- at least 12 detectives, Aruban and Dutch detectives, and a lead detective, Dennis Jacobs (ph), and they knew after we reviewed video footage from the Holiday Inn casino lobby that my daughter had never been brought back to the Holiday Inn. They knew that those suspects were fabricating a story from day one.

Something that the family knew—and we have to keep reminding everyone—after 72 hours -- 72 hours—we knew definitively that these suspects were not telling the truth. We knew that my daughter had never been brought back to the Holiday Inn. Of course we were becoming frustrated. Who wouldn‘t, at this point? You know, we—and what was so unbelievable about this, is they knew this information and still chose to pursue the two security guards on June the 5th.

'Scarborough Country' - October 23, 2005

BETH HOLLOWAY TWITTY, NATALEE HOLLOWAY'S MOTHER: They never—they never wanted to implicate these three young men.

They never wanted to implicate them from the beginning. And there is a list of reasons, you know, why we know that is true.

BETH HOLLOWAY TWITTY, NATALEE HOLLOWAY'S MOTHER: Well, of course, it's very frustrating. You know, the entire investigation, that's all we've had is frustration coming out of the officials from Aruba.

FLASHBACK

November 29, 2007
Natalee Holloway's parents to meet with Aruban prosecutor

New search for remains

The Holloways still have not given up the search for their daughter. In fact, a benefactor is donating an estimated $500,000 to help map the waters offshore.

On Thursday, Natalee's father watched Louis Schaeffer's crew load a boat equipped with the latest sonar equipment and a remote operated vehicle (ROV) to search the waters where Holloway's remains might be.

"I've got a feeling that if she's in the ocean, these guys are gonna find her," Dave Holloway said. "No doubt about it."

Schaeffer said he's retired, has the money, and was touched by the Holloways' tragedy and wanted to help.

"My only objective is to find Natalee, to bring her home for Dave and Beth and also to help identify the people that did this to her. This is a terrible thing, an injustice, and I want to help solve the case," said Schaeffer.

"We've known since [May 2005], the FBI told us Natalee's not with us anymore," Dave Holloway said.

The boat is expected to take about 10 days to get to Aruba. It'll take a few more days to set up a search.

The family says it has no new information about where to look. The Holloways just want to exhaust every area they can offshore with equipment that wasn't available to them two years ago.

Thanks to Schaefer, that's changed.

"We are just so thankful that he's got a big heart and willing to do that," Dave Holloway said

THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL

Kyle Kingman - In His Own Words

Kyle Kingman
:  John is not a believer in the trap. He took ALE's word as gospel that it wasn't case related, yet never studied the videos or bothered to inquire further. He had plans on doing business with Aruba and in S. America and he didn't want to hurt any feelings by talks hinting at lack of complete trust and friendship. I did not feel the same and we had a major difference in opinion. He was the one who never pressed ALE to be completely open with us with the trap evidence. I would have forced them to. However, John was the one paying my invoices so I was forced to sit back and hope for the best.

Kyle Kingman: I get done in the survey room backing up the ROV dive and head to the back deck to talk to the Polis divers and see what they sampled and see the Polis boat way in the distance heading away fast. John doesn't seem concerned at all, but I am very dissapointed, concerned, and burning inside because I have a feeling that I/we will never know what they took from the trap. That evening I talked to John asking when we plan on recovering the trap. Previously this was part of the talks and plan, but this time he doesn't seem concerned about ever looking into the trap further. After John verbally BASHED me about the trap for what I said to Tim Miller about the sand body-form and that I believed her skirt was under the sand, John pretty much committed himself to the belief the trap wasn't what we were after. This shocked me because it was exactly what we were looking for- a fish trap lost at sea with human remains.

Dutch police bust Netherlands Antilles cocaine smuggling ring

Published on Friday, April 23, 2010

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AFP) -- Dutch police have detained 20 people for smuggling cocaine in containers for in-flight meals and waste on planes flying between the Dutch Antilles and the Netherlands, police said on Thursday.

"Twenty suspects have been arrested over the last four months in the Netherlands and Bonaire," an island territory of the Netherlands Antilles, Schiphol airport spokesman Robert van Kapel told AFP.

The last two suspects were arrested on Tuesday.

Eleven of the 20 suspects worked for a Schiphol-based company catering for airlines.

Investigators found that the cocaine was hidden in food and waste containers on Netherlands-bound planes.

Police seized more than 50 kilogrammes (110 pounds) of cocaine, with a street value of two million euros (2.6 million dollars), and tens of thousands of euros in cash during 11 searches in the Netherlands.

Twelve of the suspects are Dutch nationals, aged 25 to 49, the spokesman said but did not give details.

MESSING WITH THE WITNESS STATEMENTS

Loving Natalee - Beth Holloway

Pages 187/189
: After waiting months to find out what my statement actually says, Jug calls on my first day in California. He has finally been able to obtain the translation of my statement from prosecutor Janssen. The one the detective brought to me to sign late that night in the restaurant. And I trusted him, and signed every page.

“listen to this, Beth …” The words he reads echo in my head. I begin to sink, and could slide to the ground out of my chair. “Jug, they changed it. They changed my statement.”

I had carefully given intricate details about the encounter in the van der Sloot front yard the first night we got to the island, including names and physical descriptions. Now Paulus van der Sloot is described only as “the man with the glasses.”

Those are not my words.

Earlier we learned from the prosecutor that the statements from the two uniformed officers who were with us in the van der Sloot front yard that morning didn’t mention the sexual encounters described by Joran between Natalee and him. No mention of his sexual contact with her as she was falling asleep and walking up. No mention of his description of her underwear and genitalia. So the judge never heard about all that.

There‘s no way a police officer could stand there that morning, hear what Joran was saying, and fail to include these details in a statement. No way. In my opinion this information must have been deleted for the officers.

Corruption in Paradise - Dave Holloway

Page 182:
The day after our talk with Ms. Flanegan, I had to go to the police staton to turn in the statement that I had given to Dennis Jacobs.  He had given me a copy to go over with my attorney, Vinda.  But, after looking at it, I realized that it was only a page and a half long and had little to do with what we had actually discussed the most, the conversation that I had with Paulus van der Sloot at the prison ...  I had spent a long time with Jacobs, and much of my interview was not in the statement.

When I went back to turn it in and discuss it with him, I was told that Jacobs was in with Jan van der Stratten.

Page 183:  I commented to Jacobs about how short my statement was. He said that I could add anything I wanted to it. Also, I noticed that Eric Soemers's name was on it, but that detective was not even present during the interview. Now I wondered if Jacobs was making up everyone's statement and getting Eric to sign on to them. If that were the case, he could state anything he wanted, and it would look like an official statement made in front of a witness.

Lotto Pa Deporte no hurry to financial report

April 26, 2010, 13:13 (GMT -04:00)

ORANGE CITY - "There is no deadline for when Lotto Pa Deporte Endy Croes definite must to give his performance as director." So says Beninda de Sousa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lotto Pa Deporte.

They thus respond to a letter that the Board immediately after the verdict was given by the lawyers of Croes. The letter reported that a new interim measures as follows Lotto not before the end of this week presented the final report. The ruling in the interim that Croes had sued Foundation Lotto Pa Deporte, according to De Sousa was clear, however. "There is no deadline, no week or month, no nothing." She thinks that Lotto Pa Deporte to Croes obligation as a good employer with a final report about the financial state of affairs under his policy. "As an employer you must be reasonable. But the court in its verdict also indicate that it is a balancing of interests. These are the importance of the director for the non-active position to remove the foundation and the other the importance of it is accurate to keep the investigation to proceed. The court last weighed more heavily. "

De Sousa reiterated that the court Lotto launched by eight independent investigation is not unreasonable. She stressed that even the right number of awards was striking that the board of Lotto Pa Deporte, whether or not under the influence of director Croes, his brother Edmond would be given. "It would indeed be that Croes at no time has acted wrongly, but the court has not proven the opposite," said De Sousa. "This is research." That Endy Croes documents produced by accounting firm Ernst & Young, in charge of the investigation, was unable to find feeds suspicion. "Those are words of the judge, not ours."

HANS MOS:  "PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT IS A NICE GUY".

The credibility of the pond witness is not the issue ... the issue is that Hans Mos refuses to consider any information the family has acquired that would implicate Paulus van der Sloot.

+++++++++++++

02 - 15 - 2008 / 11:30 a.m. (G.M.T.)
NO REARREST FOR JORAN

For all clarity, the fact that Van der Sloot has not been taken into custody on remand does not mean that the judicial investigation against him has come to an end. Far from it. The Public Prosecutor is working hard on the case in which Joran van der Sloot is still prime suspect.

Peter R. de Vries

http://www.peterrdevries.com/news-norearrest.htm

On the Record w/ Greta - November 20, 2008

GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: Hans Mos does not believe this witness?

DAVE HOLLOWAY, NATALEE HOLLOWAY'S FATHER: Hans Mos does not believe the witness. And when the witness gave his statement, it's my understanding that when he got -- when he almost got to the part talking about the judge, Hans Mos made a comment that, what a nice guy he was and all this kind of stuff. ...

VAN SUSTEREN: All right. Did the -- did -- was there ever any follow-up to see whether or not your witness had information that was truly helpful? Did Hans Mos, even though he didn't believe him -- did he at least assign someone to go out and investigate and look at that pond area?

HOLLOWAY: No, he didn't. You know, we had asked him to. And in fact, we had planned to go excavate the pond ourselves, and these hurricanes came through and one came close to Aruba and filled the pond back up with water. It's still our plan to go back. I think Hans Mos and I discussed, you know, Natalee's not in the pond, but we believe that, you know, he could possibly find a tennis shoe, maybe her driver's license or even some of Natalee's clothing, which would help lead into, you know, the timeline. And also, this witness implicates Paulus van der Sloot. So if that's the case, you know, that needs to be done.

ARUBA

TO: requirement four years for one million fraud Valero

April 27, 2010, 13:59 (GMT -04:00)

ORANGE CITY - The Public Prosecutor (OM) is four years imprisonment demanded for employee and contractor of Valero from 2007-2009 together for about 5.2 million florin from the refinery would have darkened. The case presented in court yesterday.

Employees, EO has some guilt. The contractor, IB, denies. K. Valero admits work orders to have distorted, but at the same time suggests that his only crime. For, he reasons, the money that resulted from the false orders was not in his pocket, but in that of contractor B. An employee who Valero worked as Superintendent of the Division Central Maintenance, claims never to have known how much money exactly on the account of the contractor was paid. The contractor in turn, says no harm to know. He claims he sent to the legitimate work orders to have adopted. He would not have known that the documents were forged.

According to OM the two men played under a hat. Research would show that the superintendent on behalf of the contractor worked. Together they forged work orders have made it orders to non-essential materials and services that are paid, but were never delivered. The materials and services were often resold - and thus reflected in invoices - for construction projects outside the refinery, such as WEB and Setar. In this way, sometimes three times to be earned on an ordered party, all at the expense of Valero. This practice would have occurred from February 2007 until July 2009.

The fraud came to light in 2009 through an internal investigation by Valero. The refinery fired the employee fired and cocked a case. In September of the same year the two were arrested.

Although at the time the study of Valero was extended because of suspicions of other persons who may be the same kind of racket claimed, have since been no new arrests.

Dolphins in Aruban waters. This year started scientific research on these mammals.
ORANGE CITY - The government plans to back a Dolphinarium on Aruba begin. Premier Mike Eman (AVP) and the Minister for Infrastructure, Environment and Integration Benny Sevinger (AVP) have discussed this with three environmental organizations that oppose this.

by our reporter
to Myrtle Rozario

This conversation took place a few weeks ago. Angiolina Henriquez of Aruba Marine Mammal Foundation (AMMF), Edith van de Wal of Tortugaruba and Ramsy Acosta of Fundacion Arubano Naturalez y pa Parke (Fanape) were present. According to Van de Wal was during that interview that the government - like three years ago - considering an oceanarium.

Nature representatives have argued why the Dolphinarium not a good idea. "We proposed that, if something like that to come, that would be better than rehabilitation. Sick dolphins would get the chance to eventually be put back again into the wild, "said Van de Wal. According to Henriquez has Eman in the consultations undertaken only for such a shelter permit will be issued. Nevertheless, she is not convinced that the government of its plans for an aquarium on looks. A response from government side was not available this morning.

Three years was already there plans for an aquarium. Amigoe published in October 2007 an article about a dolphin nursery at De Palm Island and also several letters to the editor. One of those letters was sent from Richard O'Barry, the trainer of dolphins for the Flipper television series were used. He is vehemently opposed to Aruba and then did dolphinaria an urgent appeal to "decision makers" to the plans for an aquarium not to pursue. He led at that time a film team in Japan was secretly filming the killing of dolphins. This documentary, The Cove, won an Oscar last year.

The director of De Palm Tours, Richardo Malmberg said not to be aware of current plans for an aquarium. "We are invited by the government not to talk." Malmberg said his company currently no plans in the direction of dolphins has.

Research
AMFF find plans for an aquarium shocking. By making these plans publicly, Henriquez hopes that people realize that the government in Aruba in Aruba is not the natural heart. At the same time will show why science AMFF dolphins in the wild and not belong in an aquarium. Saturday Hadicurari found in a lecture, including researcher Jolanda Luksenburg present. She is a biologist and go AMFF researching marine mammals including wild dolphins. It is the first time that scientific research is done here.

Luksenburg is just two months on Aruba. She finds an unusual location Aruba. "The wild dolphins come here so close to the coast and swim even close to boaters. This gives many opportunities to study them up close. I literally go by boat to sea and hope that I often see dolphins and much data to collect. "Luksenburg can count on its research collaboration with the University of Aruba (UA).

After the presentations and Luksenburg Henriquez gave the public the documentary The Cove to see. This is a group of animal activists followed, which portrays how dolphins captured in Japan for dolphinaria. The majority, about 20,000 dolphins a year, is not suitable for dolphinaria and be killed for consumption. The filmmakers made use of hidden cameras and microphones, because Japan did not want the pictures came out. The documentary received an Oscar in 2009.

Family finally knows peace, 23 years later
Woman vanished in 1986, and the case had gone cold, but her brother just couldn’t forget

Saturday's service at Sugar Valley Missionary Baptist Church released long-held emotions for the family of Angela Faye Phillips, including her father, James Phillips, left, a young half brother, Jovan Phillips, brother Darryl Phillips and his wife, Sarah.

He's the brother who wouldn't stop calling.

For more than two decades, Darryl Phillips hounded the Houston Police Department and Harris County Medical Examiner's Office about his missing sister.

Phillips finally got some peace on Saturday when he helped lay to rest Angela Faye Phillips, nearly 24 years after she went missing.

The 20-year-old left her south Houston home one September morning in 1986 to catch the bus for a job interview. Loved ones never saw her again.

The loss left an unshakable impression on Darryl, then 18, who promised his now-deceased mother that he would never stop searching for the baby girl of the family.

“My mom died not knowing where her daughter was,” he said. “I wanted to make sure she was found and given a proper burial.”

The young woman known as “Angie Faye” was an athletic tomboy known for winning neighborhood foot races against both girls and boys. She was a prankster who loved to laugh.

Debra Hale Knox, the oldest of the Phillips siblings, said she last spoke to her sister around 1 p.m. the day of the interview.

“A lot of times when folks are missing and they are of age, it's always assumed that they've run away,” Knox said. “But she always called and let somebody know where she was. She had no reason to get up and disappear.”

Four siblings searched the next day, but turned up nothing. Three days after Angela vanished, authorities recovered the remains of a young black female in the 5800 block of Foster on Houston's south side.

At the time, authorities didn't connect the dots.

“It's been a tremendous strain not knowing. I think that back then, had we found out that was my sister, I think we'd have been too distraught. … Only in the last couple of years have I been able to talk about it without breaking down,” Knox said. “At that time, getting even with somebody certainly wasn't beneath us.”

Knox added that she believes her mother grieved until her death in 1989.

In the intervening decades, Angela's determined younger brother kept asking about missing persons, so-called unknowns and Jane Does.

Buried without a name

Darryl Phillips was among the earliest volunteers to join Texas Equusearch, and even traveled to Aruba in 2005 to help look for Natalee Holloway, the Alabama teen who vanished during a high school graduation trip to the Caribbean country.

On the flight back, he mentioned his missing sister to HPD detectives, who vowed to help. Since then, the reopened police investigation, coupled with initiative from forensic anthropologist Sharon Derrick in the medical examiner's office, connected Angela to the remains of an unidentified black female long-since buried without a name at a county cemetery.

In December, the medical examiner's office called Phillips about a possible match to relatives' DNA. Last month, Angela's remains were positively identified.

“It's the same body that they buried and it's the same body that they went back and got,” Darryl Phillips said. “That never changed, but I don't fault nobody but the criminals.”

Last week, the Phillips family gathered at the site where Angela's remains were found and Texas Equusearch erected a wooden memorial cross.

Saturday's heavy clouds seemed to release tears as the celebration of Angela's life began. Two Texas Equusearch trucks parked just outside the church vestibule. An iridescent cotton-candy-pink casket adorned with fresh flowers brought Angela back to the sanctuary of the Sugar Valley Missionary Baptist Church. After all this time, there remained unexpressed emotion unleashed by stirring gospel music and reflections about a young woman they never forgot.

‘There needs to be justice'

“I waited 23 years for this day,” Darryl Phillips told the packed pews. “No matter how long you wait, God answers prayer.”

The experience taught Darryl Phillips to appreciate people while they're living. He even awarded plaques during the service to those who helped bring his family closure, including Derrick.

The mystery is only half solved, the 41-year-old said. Angela's case has been reclassified from missing person to homicide.

“There's forgiveness, but there needs to be justice,” Phillips said. “My passion and dream is to bring some justice. I won't stop until it's done.”
