I've had lots of questions, but am not assuming anything!  That post of Melody's doesn't really answer any questions I have.

Yes, Melody does have a beautiful daughter, and I truly hope that she can be...all that she sees...in her daughter's eyes.

My first love still has a place in my heart.  But I thank God that he cheated on me and broke my heart so long ago...if he hadn't I would have married him and would have been put through the turmoil that the girl he did marry has gone through.  Once a cheater...always a cheater.

I can only imagine how much grief a cheater and sociopath could bring.

For Melody and her beautiful daughter's sake, I do hope she's steering her heart in the right direction.

And I hope she has a wonderful Mother's Day!  an angelic monkey

I stand with the girl, Natalee Holloway.

"I can look back over the past 10 years and there were no steps wasted, and there are no regrets,'' she said. "I did all I knew to do and I think that gives me greater peace now." "I've lived every parent's worst nightmare and I'm the parent that nobody wants to be," she said.

Google translation:

"Joran is a lovely young '

ORANGE CITY (03/30/2006) - For many Americans, Joran van der Sloot guilty, no doubt about it. He was in Aruba, American Natalee Holloway disappeared last seen, and so have her killed. He is great news for American television, but who is really Joran? From what he's nest? In including Reuters UK a comprehensive portrait of a rebellious teenager who is not as close to the truth takes. "

"Want to Have A Good Time?" shouts a small, puffy with a yellow cap Aruban by the microphone. Around him, on the dance floor, five hundred are elated and slightly tipsy young people. Most come from America. It is ten o'clock and time to entertain.

Bar in the popular Carlos' n Charlie's in Oranjestad that is synonymous with drinking games. Fast forward five girls in summer dresses and flimsy shirts on stage lifted. They get tequila shots and beer mugs made.

Then they double their axis for them to start next combine tequila beer. Soon begins the first girl to totter. The audience cries of pleasure.

This bar was Joran van der Sloot in May last year, the blonde Natalee Holloway from Alabama bump. Now the U.S. has lost almost one year. Joran should have seen her last. Therefore, considers him the police as the prime suspect for her disappearance.

Joran did not strengthen his case on himself by lying to the police. After some flirtation with Carlos' n Charlie's and gevoos in the car, he said, he would have Natalee back to her hotel. Instead he let the girl alone on the beach, he later admitted.

The American media jumped on the case and opened a grim hunt for Joran. Weekly filled some old photos and video from the Dutch American news shows. He is a liar, a rapist and a murderer named.

Joran Natalee's possible involvement in an apparent disappearance kijkcijferhit. In a blow to the famous seventeen year old teenager. Who he is and what a nest it is, is hardly known.

Even before Anita van der Sloot, Joran mother, the gateway to the family home in rural northern district can open, the dog smelled the visit already. "Easy", eases the Anita loud barking dog. "It's okay." The little blonde woman goes in to a big dinner table. She has not really feel like talking. The family has so much trouble on themselves been poured, she says. The flow of rumors, but does not Joran.

Earlier in the day an anonymous whisper, senior police sources that the Dutchman would be treated for telling lies. Nonsense, call Anita bright. Her son is only in counseling, business calls, had to learn how to better study.

Joran father, former judge in training Paul van der Sloot, slide after a long day too. He heaves a weary sigh: "Joran is lying no more than any other teenager."

Paul wants to rest in the tent as well. The family in recent years been under tremendous pressure, he complains. Joran, their oldest, is "really not an angel." Every detail of his personal life is now completely pulled out of context. "We must talk about a loss, not about murder."

He speaks softly and controlled over his child, but Anita emotes about the bad stories doing the rounds on the island. Joran gambling and sex addict? "It's just a wonderful young! A lovely teenager, who lives for his friends, sports and family. "

Okay, he has an adolescent areas. Please do not always meet its commitments. If he at one o'clock at night to be home, he puts his cell phone so his parents can not call him. If he comes up later, he gave his mother three kisses. She had still not have to worry, he is now anyway. Anita is furious when her son accused of rape. "He was just very sweet with friends."

Joran always had a lot of girls around him, but the contact was often only friendly, she says. "They went at each other as brother and sister."

Paul Joran would have room to show. Friends, both girls and boys could always stay overnight, he says, as he runs the garden to an outbuilding. Since he was five tenths Joran here, beside the pool and a reasonable distance from the parental home, private bedroom and bathroom.

Paul opens the door cautiously. "Look, here they were with four or five." It was during the sleepovers in his always very friendly to it. On Aruba it is normal to sleep with someone else. Minors are on the island entirely dependent on parents or friends with a license for them to pick and bring.

During an interview in Arnhem tells Joran always very happy to have his own base. "The privacy was very nice, especially if there were friends." Of course he had also normal friendships with girls, he says as his parents' reaction should be. "A friend has ten times slept in my bed without anything ever happened between us."

The attraction must be because both ways, he says. If it does, does he honestly not the problem. Joran has since his fourteenth sex with girls. Also American. "On the island lives a little bit the feeling that they are easy."

There are guys who just go to the beach for these girls to decorate. He that is just as good. "But," he emphasizes, "I've always treated with respect." So it came sometime that a girl closer inspection, do not want sex. "Okay, then I brought her back to the hotel."

Similarly, it would have gone with Natalee, but she insisted on the nearby beach stay, he says. So he left her behind. Joran has always maintained that fatal night, not had sex with Natalee that night because he have any condoms with him. Typically Joran says the Aruban Granadillo Melody (19). The girl with long dark brown curls is an ex-girlfriend. In their eight-month relationship and they always used condoms Joran. "He is very clear."

The Dutchman was her first love. For months they spent every day together. As she takes a bite of ice, she points to the green, landlocked Wilhelminapark. Since Joran and they could sit and talk for hours. "I know him better than himself. Joran is playful in his heart a child. " A potential murderer? No, never.

Joran is often misunderstood, she notes. Take his openness: "People understand it as flirtatious." Her friends thought him conceited. That's it in her. "He's just confident. Walks upright with his head in the air. "

Melody finally broke the relationship because Joran was unfaithful. Magda, manageress of the Aruba Racquet Club, shrugs. "That's the mentality here. If things click with someone, it just happens, even if you have a girlfriend. "

Aruba is like a village where everyone knows each other through-via. Every week there is a new cargo airport Reina Beatrix anonymous tourists who just want to party. For many young, sexy American girls Aruba is the party island where their troubles forgotten. Until the holiday lasts, is the world of drinking games and flirts with reality. Local boys like Joran, however, these party culture seven days a week at their disposal. The temptation is always lurking.

On the clay courts of the Raquette Club boys tennis balls hit hard over the net. Joran was on the tennis, which are mainly Dutch, half home. After school he spent a lot of his time playing football, tennis and swimming.

He was a spontaneous, fun guy, says Magda. "All he could very stubborn and persistent." She remembers that Joran's friends talked about it there. They were sometimes like him back if they had had enough of the discussions. Joran is a good talker, almost everyone agrees, "but also a smooth," laughs Melody.

That is my strength, knows Joran. "By talking, I often get done what I want." Convincingly argue, he continues to learn his mother taught at the International School. Joran also home to fit the art, and in effect. He wanted to look at the casino, but his father was dead against it. There were lively discussions, then joined his son Paul one time guests and eventually brought him to a free weekly poker tournament (a game which is played not with money) in one of the many gokpaleizen.

At almost any hour of the day gowns Arubans in the casino money through the many fruit machines. Tourists mostly play the blackjack or poker tables. Joran father initially thought his son not to gamble at the poker tournaments participate. "During the break, they serve pizza. You may be as much free food as you want. " Joran can be eventually increasing by a friend home. Then he can at least stay away longer, and real gambling. When his father finds out that later, he is stunned. "I had no idea that Joran in the real casino gambling." His parents are constantly trying to find a balance in the education of their children, they say. "I am perhaps a little stronger than Paul," says Anita, "but if Paul and I both say no and the children come up with good arguments, they know that we are open to a solution."

Joran is proud of that. "My parents try everything from our side to see. This time I have found them very well. " (Source Reuters UK )

I hope at least once this Mother's Day weekend, Melody will look into her daughter's eyes and then think about Beth...

that she'll for just a minute as a mother imagine walking in Beth's shoes...

about how Beth will spend another Mother's Day WITHOUT HER DAUGHTER...

that she'll recall that Natalee was last seen almost FIVE YEARS ago in Aruba with Joran and his friends...

that she'll think how Beth must have felt to be tormented with Joran's cruel remarks about her only daughter...

that she'll just try to imagine how it has been for Beth, having to endure FIVE YEARS of story after story about what Joran did with her daughter, and knowing that more than likely he and/or others dumped her at sea to cover their crimes against her...

and finally; that she'll know in her heart WHY Anita (who she loves so much) and her network of "friends" including Jan Brennan...have ruthlessly tried to place the blame for Natalee's disappearance anywhere but where it belongs.

I'm confused here....... was your first post saying "5/26/2010" in error or has the document been amended to 01/27/2011 and 02/07/2011???

I'm hoping perhaps it means that the judge is PO'ed and has announced a new "trial date" -- but is actually going to announce sanctions at that time.

Originally the trial date was going to be 5/26/2010 and up until today it still said that.  We actually knew they weren't going to "make" that date and that it would be postponed, now we know for sure when (unless of course there is another delay).

I have a feeling that the 5/6/2010 date had unofficially been delayed as well and that's why nobody showed up.

In the Range Rover recording ... Joran van der Sloot was attempting through lies to distance his father from involvement in the events encompassing the morning of May 31, 2005.  However ... he did not give his Mother a moral pass.

Disposed - Patrick Vander Eem

Chapter 19:

JORAN: But there is nobody, I have never known anybody more
honest than my father in my life.

PATRICK: Oh.

JORAN: My mother, my mother can lie, y’know.

PATRICk: But everyone can lie, man.

JORAN: Yeah, okay, but my father not.

Exclusive: Joran van der Sloot Talks About Night Out
Feb. 22, 2006

Van der Sloot said he didn't want to tell the truth because he was scared.

"I didn't want anyone to know," he said. "I didn't want anyone to know I left her at the beach."

When asked why, after all the lying he's done, his word should be credible, he said, "There's absolutely no reason to believe me."

"I would probably not believe myself, no," he added.

WHEW!!!

I think you be right Klaas.

My worst nightmare was realized last night.  I dreamed that there was a negotiated undisclosed  settlement between the Kalpoes' attorneys and McGraw's attorneys.  In other words ... Aruba won.

I was so upset when I awoke (3:00 am) ... I got up and made myself a pot of green tea and read for an hour.  Hubby peeked into the kitchen and asked what was going on.  I pour my heart out.  His response prior to finishing my story.  "Come back to bed."  He just does not get it!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY BETH

Loving Natalee – Beth Holloway

Page 228/229:
At the top of her closet are some boxes, heavy ones.  I pull them down and open them to find Natalee’s composition notebook, which is actually a journal from a high-school English class.  It’s in her handwriting.  I have never seen this before.  As I open it, I instantly feel her with me right now at this moment, like a physical presence.  Overwhelmed with this warmth, I take the journal out and sit down on her bed to read what she has written about love and life.

“Jesus Christ is the basis of Christianity and is the most influential person in my life.  I believe without him people would be nothing and have no direction in life.

Love is an emotion that happens naturally when one person feels very strongly for another. I believe love is controlled by faith and that certain people are made to love each other.  Love is a very complicated emotion.  I think I will know when I will find love, because it will be with someone that I care for and cannot live without.

Family is like a deck of cards.  You never know what kind of card you’ll draw.  No one is able to choose their family, but has to accept their own family.  I consider myself lucky because I am really happy with the family that I have to me, family is very important and should be a person’s top priority"

I am so taken with the depth of her words, her thoughts.  Just as her Bible group leader said, “Natalee knows how to call on God.”  Faith has always been a very important part of our lives.

Court discretion to dictate moral issues

May 7, 2010, 2:35 p.m. (GMT -04:00)

ORANGE CITY - The court finds that the society needs more careful handling of the public discussion of sexual crimes. The treatment of sexual matters should be in the court, not the media, said the judge.

The parents of two boys of five and nine years yesterday received a scolding from Court, as they told reporters that they had created a heavy penalty hoped for the seventeen year old boy who had abused their children. The meeting yesterday was very emotional. Parents, relatives and others were crying, while the judge heard the stories of the offender and his much younger victims.

The Public Prosecutor (OM) showed that the teenager between October 1, 2008 and January 31, 2009 the two boys had several times forced into sexual acts. He touched them both immoral. The youngest child, he had also raped. These facts are apparent from statements made by the five and nine years. The teenager claimed the defense that he raped the boys did not. However he admitted that he has touched them immoral.

The prosecution claimed 365 days imprisonment, less the eighteen days that the boy had been in jail and probation for two years. The judge agreed to. He also put on a community service of 240 hours. Community service he accomplishes is not, he should additional 126 days in jail.

The judge and the prosecutor had also agreed on the psychological needs of the offender. He needs proper guidance, like his victims, said the court.

How and why the teenager came to his actions was not clear at the meeting. He cried a lot, and said he was sorry. His personal circumstances were not disclosed. The court finds that this information is confidential. As part of this trial was handled, the judge sent everyone present in the room, except the defendant and his lawyer.

Hi monkeys,

Reminder that I do always read here, and remain awed by the dedication of so many of you. texasmom, I know how much work it is to do what you do. The crap that goes on on Aruba is appaling for a small* island.

* Diddling of the data with population, I notice. Aruba wants to be "less than 100,000" for the tourist image, but "more than 100,000" for the crime stats. Sneaky devils.

The stilted nature of the translation contributes, but the quoted story is wrong on so many levels. (And yes, I do remember that THEIR legal system is not like ours.) Just hitting the high points --

"Court discretion to dictate moral issues"
- Unfortunate headline from Amigoe; courts ajudicate legal issues.

"The parents of two boys of five and nine years yesterday received a scolding from Court, as they told reporters that they had created a heavy penalty hoped for the seventeen year old boy who had abused their children."
- Again, "scolding" is, I guess, Amigoe's wording. But I can't blame the parents for hoping for a heavy penalty, and even shouting it from the rooftops.

"The prosecution claimed 365 days imprisonment ... "
- Okay, the defendant is only 17 yo, and I don't know what age Aruba's system considers to be "adult" but this certainly is an adult crime with a high recidivism rate. The rape victim was only FIVE, FTLOG. Sentence: 365 days. What are they thinking? What kind of message is that to the community?

Yeah, he needs psychological "guidance" (they got that right), for a long, long time. But they'll be probably be seeing him again. If he survives his sentence.

Special shout out to all the old-time monkeys (who remember me), and especially to the mods.

klaas - you're the awesomest, as always.

I have been trying to keep up in the HaLeigh and Cailey threads, but sheesh, those families make my head explode.

Well, it's the divine Ms. M!

Julia is one of the hardest working members of the coverup and misinformation task force. Her primary mission is to ensure that Beth is sentenced to a living hell for the rest of her life.

Why Julia? What's in it for you? Why do you think you can act so reprehensibly, so brazenly, so callously?

I hope one day, that I find a photo of you, hung up by the neck, with your hand in your pocket. I'll say I knew who that bitch. She finally did the right thing. And I won't lose one minutes sleep over it.

Seattle Times - June 9, 2007

American Julia Renfro, editor-in-chief of Aruba Today, initially sided with Holloway's parents when they sought publicity and lambasted Aruban police for following Dutch investigative procedures different from those in the United States.

Galvanized by compassion for a desperate mother, Renfro stopped the presses of her daily newspaper for the first time in its history to include a picture of Holloway to aid Arubans in the islandwide search.

Renfro, a mother of four, spent weeks shuttling the family from the scene of one rumored development to another, but she became disenchanted with what she saw as Twitty's pandering to tabloid TV and "flat-out lies" she told on the air.

"I feel guilty saying any negative thing about a mother who has lost her daughter," Renfro said. "But her behavior was odd from the get-go."

Robin Holloway - December, 2007

As far as Julia, we have stayed in contact with her and she truly does care for Natalee and wants to know what happened to her as much as anyone else. Dave was able to meet with Mark for a little while last night while he was there and had a nice visit. It is good to know they are still there and willing to help. Please know they are still there too for Natalee ...
