Can't see the pipe all the way round but it looks like a meth pipe.  Is it round at the end or hollowed out like and indention?  Okay, so the kid is hungry I'm gonna stop here, ______?, so meet me here with my phone and then go on your own way Rob!  Whaddya think Kh?  Oh, and good morning to you.
You guys are the best! Love you guys! Glad you are back, Melisb! I had thought maybe meth pipe, too. Crack, meth--whatever. But you just can't tell for sure, can you? It could be--I dunno. What do people carry w/ their tire gauges in what would that be a glove box or was that stuff strictly off the dash or from where? Not sure.

"On March 17 items belonging to Shantina and Azriel showed up on the shore about 50 feet from the van.

Initially, it was believed the items floated out into the Sound and were washed up.

But Captain Chamberlain told Examiner.com he doesn’t believe that could have happened, and that the most likely scenario would be those items would have been in a backpack that the pair might have taken with them as they walked down the beach.

Simmons told Examiner.com Sunday he does not believe that theory because some of the items were not in the backpack but were loose in the van, including the ball that was found on shore on March 17. He said that ball had been rolling around on the floor of the van for weeks."

Gee. I have to ask if Capt Chamberlain is working a "theory" or working w/ scientific facts....

I wonder if she is deceased...he did make that comment about maybe someone has her in a basement somewhere.  Kind of odd.  Maybe the memorial was to give the view of moving on and accepting it.  So others would too.

Thinking more abt this, Labubske--a lot more! I want to know a) does anyone have a policy on Shantina or Az b) when & if anyone starts to try and have Shantina declared legally deceased. I wonder abt any claims made on the engagement ring Shantina was wearing--if their was a policy. And something Edward said: that while Robb seems to have no compunction abt moving on w/ his life, but that--then again--there are such selfish people in the world--that made me start thinking abt exactly that. You know that the day before his "girlfriend memorial" was the day he went sailing w/ that new singles group. Someone that coolly detached--what are they capable of? Is there a similar history that we don't know abt w/ this man here? Clearly his children seem to be safe w/ him, & he does have an ex-wife (their mother?) but sometimes being a baby mama makes a difference to a person... I am just thinking, maybe we should be looking for any past patterns. Remember Drew Peterson, right? Just PURELY speculating abt anything possible to research.

Unbelievable things being found. Robb's actions before, during and after shantina's disappearence is very questionable. Great work to those that found this info.

That is a crack pipe, wow. I hope DNA testing was done on that pipe. It looks pretty clean, doesn't look like it had been used recently. We heard over and over again it was Robb's van and Shantina borrowed it that day. so was it Robb's, Shantina's or someone elses pipe?

I was in the Lindsey thread and was finding AA meetings near McCleary and I found a schedule of meetings in Olympia. All were close to the same area she was in that night. Could she have wanted to go to an AA meeting? Considering she had according to Robb, fell off the wagon and was most likely a little nervous about seeing her family again, could she have been trying to get help that night? Just a thought...I just find it odd she was right around the same area's these meetings were that night.

On this night there were meetings mostly at the 407 water street, but on other nights there is a meeting on Boston Harbor, near 46th street. This one provides child care on Friday evening meetings, Perhaps she had been to a meeting there before? I don't know, it might explain why she was on that street.

that's kind of interesting, maybe she needed help and tried there?  I'll see what I can find out about anyone connected to this place.

Normally AA regions have a 24 hour help line that give you dates and time and locations of meetings. Does this area have one?

Tracygirl...that is a great thought.  The only thing that puzzles me with that would be her buying the wine and did she buy the wine and ask for the map at the same stop?  If so, that would puzzle me.  If she bought the wine and then stopped and asked for a map afterward then it may be that she started to feel bad and wanted to get to an AA meeting.  But, to me it seems see she was waiting on something in Olympia...maybe it was an afterthought.  Being an addictions counselor and dropping in on my clients at AA/NA meetings...I often see it as a "meeting" place.

Her family and law enforcement appears complacent..
All of them have been beaten without knowing they were deceived with words and empty actions played out for them my humble opinion.

I agree Edward, he is laughing at them, knowing he got away with it. What about the next victim(s)? They too deserve this person caught and brought to justice.

If she was in AA and I would assume she was because of her past charge, perhaps she was meeting with her current or past...oh gosh what is that called, the person you would call if you are having problems, not counselor, your???  the word is right there.

She had an "enabler." This enabler put her in all the right situations to fall off the wagon:

"On the way down, we stopped in Castle Rock, aka Kat’s Stomping ground for dinner. We even ate a place that she use to work at, Papa Pete’s Pizza Parlor.  Pete’s is what most of us will remember a pizza parlor as, lots of seats, an arcade, and a bunch of good family atmosphere.  The pizza, while a little more than one would typically expect to pay at a “big Box Pizza Chain”, it is well worth the few extra dollars.  We had a split Meat Lovers and Taco Pizza, and we ended up taking the left overs with us. The pizza is a thin crust pan, overloaded with plenty of topping, like rolling off overload! "
"If you are on the I-5 run to Portland, or heading up to Mt. St Helens, I would strongly suggest stopping a Papa Pete’s Pizza, they are located at the exit that goes to Mt. St Helens, and are on the east side of the freeway!"

"...we rolled west on WA-14, and checked out the Maryhill winery, where I got to sampled several of the wines. And as a longtime fan of Cab’s, i was impressed, unfortunately we did not have the cargo space to carry a bottle home. Maryhill winery has a spectacular view of the Columbia, as well as an amphitheater.... After the winery we dropped into a town called Wishram. From looking at this little town, you can tell that this is a place that time forgot, and you wonder  if these people would ever have any ambition to leave.  Wishram does however feature a Historic Steam Locomotive, and a large holding area for the BNSF. I would speculate that this was once a coaling station for Steam Locomotives, and when Diesel Power emerged in the 50’s, this place fell by the wayside.  Honestly if the citizens pulled their money, and hit the Powerball, or opened a Casino, they would could make a nice little get-away on the Columbia River. Instead we saw old house, old brick buildings, and kids running all around, but hey this is a small town!"
btw: do you get the idea that this man knows A LOT abt the area, the areas off I-5, etc., etc. This brings on a question for me, specifically abt "kat's old stomping ground" ok. this is the week, purportedly by RS that Shantina fell off the proverbial 'wagon'. it is also a week that she revisited memories & i can't recall where, but chelsa--the 'stepfather' daughter reported that this was the 2nd weekend she was going to visit. one wonders if she was not feeling totally like reconnecting w/ these people & her old life--instead of making a new one w/ 'fiance'? maybe she just felt like running and screaming away from this man after this trip. why is he constantly stuffing food in her & taking pictures of her w/ her mouth full?

Yes sponser, thank you.
Can someone please answer a question for me. When you are in the recovery process are you encouraged to revisit the area's of your life that may have brought you to drinking or taking drugs? Are you prompted to reach out to the people who you once may have hurt or made angry to say you are sorry or even to say you forgive them if they did something to you?

Why did she supposedly reach out to her ex and tell him she forgives him? Why did she wish to reach out to the people who judged her the most (or so it seems), her family? What was she going through that brought her to want to do this?

I have been told by a relative of hers, they suspect Shantina had been drinking again and was drunk that night. I have a difficult time believing she was falling down drunk as they believe only because why would she revisit this part of her life when she was "off the wagon"? Wouldn't that give them even more reason to doubt her when she was trying to reconnect with them? Yet another thing that doesn't make sense.

I can tell you, almost definitively, that if this woman was in AA they would have told her to keep her sobriety she needed to go running and screaming from Robb Simmons. Why do I say that--b/c when you are new in sobriety you must change people places and things. I would know. And a lot of times a sponsor will not give you the time of day if you are in a relationship that is relatively new especially, w/ someone who drinks. Robb drinks. By his own admission (see link in above post to confirm that if necessary). If she IS in AA and working a program... it is total honesty--unless it is JUST for the sake of the courts. You cannot sincerely want AA to give you your sober life back & be under handed and sneaky, which is why I doubt Shantina is working 12-steps in AA. She may be showing up for meetings and getting a paper signed to show to the justice system, but that is all. I am NOT convinced she is an alcoholic. I am convinced this woman had a lot of toxic people in her life--from her own mother that committed suicide to Az's dad who regrets not being more responsible for his own child to the boyfriend that beat Azriel up to ... we will never know how extensive that list might be. But I can tell you one thing: she shared these demons w/ RS & he knew they would be dug up after this incident. He not only exploited her DUI/drunkenness on the media, but may have even been convinced that the toxic nature of her past would keep him off the radar. I say "may have"--we don't know. We can only look at the way things are shaking out. Even her own family--as screwed up as it seems to be by nature--doesn't wonder. It is the perfect person for a crime of this opportunity if it is one.

Tracygirl, this is why she was revisiting old areas of her life. 100% why--THE WEEK BEFORE SHE HAD BEEN TO HER OLD "STOMPING GROUND" according to the 'stepfather's daughter' Chelsa, this was her second visit--I will find you that link:

"On the way down, we stopped in Castle Rock, aka Kat’s Stomping ground for dinner. Wouldn't that give them even more reason to doubt her when she was trying to reconnect with them? Yet another thing that doesn't make sense.

" Chelsea Woodard - Step-Sister of Shantina
her father used to be married to Smiley's mother

shantina was suppose to spend the night with her

Woodard was looking forward to Smiley's arrival with her son, Azriel Carver, around 7:30 or 8 p.m. Saturday evening. They were going to spend the night at her house and get more thoroughly re-acquainted after a few years of being out of touch while they lived in different parts of the country."

" Her stepsister said everyone in the family thinks something different about what happened to Smiley, because so little information about her disappearance has surfaced.

But Smiley and Azriel never showed up."
