Deputies Continue Search for Woman's Killer

Cindy Henderson was found dead in front of her home. (News 4)

SAN ANTONIO - It's been a week since Cindy Henderson was found dead in front of her home, and Bexar County sheriff's deputies are still searching for her killer.

Tuesday, cars filled the parking lot and lined nearby streets as friends and family gathered at Puente and Sons Funeral Home on South Flores to say goodbye to Henderson. They said she was a woman who brought happiness to the lives of everyone she met.

Jorge Garcia had been friends with Henderson since 1991. He said he had never met a more loving person.

"One thing that I could say about Cindy is that it didn't matter what time you called her, she was always there," recalled Garcia. "She was there for us. She gave every bit of herself to everyone."

Garcia told News 4 it's hard to believe he'll never be able to call her up and hear her voice again.

"A part of us really went with her," said Garcia, as he started to cry.

A CPS Energy employee found Henderson dead in her driveway, her truck still running. She had been shot in the face.

"It's been very tough to see her go this way" Garcia added.

The fact that the killer is still not behind bars is also tough on Henderson's family and friends.

"The family definitely needs closure," said Deputy Ino Badillo of the Bexar County Sheriff's Department. "They need to know who did this."

Investigators with the sheriff's department say the case is getting their full attention.

"Currently, they believe there was more than one actor, and they're following every lead they can on that" added Deputy Badillo.

While solving the case won't bring Cindy back, friends like Garcia say it would help them heal.

"Cindy, we're going to miss you," Garcia said as he continued to cry.

Investigators are following all their leads, but would like to hear from anyone who has any information concerning the case. If you have any information on this murder, please call the sheriff's office at 210-335-6070.

Detectives Seek 2 Men Connected To Woman's Death

POSTED: Wednesday, September 24, 2008
Bexar County detectives said they're looking for two men in their early 20s last seen driving a grey or light green Ford Explorer with a chrome front grille.
The men are being sought in connection with the Sept. 9 shooting death of Cynthia Henderson on the 13000 block of Fowler Road.
"Witness testimony placed two young Hispanic males inside that vehicle at the time of the murder, so the description of the suspects we have are just based on witness testimony," Bexar County sheriff's Det. Rubin Arevalos said.
