amen.....this motion and marinadebrain are getting too much attention............the motion is a joke..........after reading info on Strickland, the attorneys I have talked to seemed to be split down the middle  ...he may recuse himself so as not to cause problems down the road..or he may hunker down and be prepared for not only the defense, but the public and the wicked world of defense attorneys, to question every ruling he makes for the prosecution...however it will be fruitless for them.....he seems to be beyond reproach.... ..and marinadebrain just can't shut up....oh yes, forgive me ...it is all about him.........DUH

Strickland just recused himself from the case

WOW...I just posted that attorneys I had spoken with were split down the middle.

Yea, I was mixing a meatloaf and WFTV had breaking news after just reporting on the case....then they said Strickland recused himself, so I had to run and tell you guys!

I hope they get a mean mean mean nasty judge!

Oh my gosh.............they are going to rue the day they removed Strickland --Judge Perry is the one I was hoping they would get.

That's great, with this new computer I can't seem to open the files to read the judges statements, but I just saw this, Judge Perry  presided over the grand jury that indicted Casey on murder.

I had the misfortune, and I say misfortune only because I was a defendant, of appearing before Judge Perry once in my life. It was a DUI case and I was busted, dead to rights. A technicality got my breathalyzer results thrown out (along with thousands of others) and the judge asked me how much I had had to drink that night. I told him 8 or 9 beers. He looked me dead in the eyes and said "At least you're not trying to pull the wool over my eyes here" or something to that effect. He then convicted me of reckless driving without alcohol involved, which was a freaking gift. From my recollection, he was fair with me and everyone else in court that day.

I don't think he's likely to take a whole lot of crap if he thinks someone is lying to him. From what I remember of court that day, he didn't take kindly to someone trying to BS him.    (just saw this on ws)

Mercy...Judge Strickland's order to disqualify is to the point...........WOW......BOZO better hope he never has to come in front of JS again in his whole miserable life. And I'd be willing to bet that Judge Perry is not going to be as lenient and have the patience of JS.    JMO

And I am elated...................they just signed her death warrant - Of course they don't care- they all just want the publicity and the money they can rake in from this case.

Turbo I hope you are right and they get Judge Perry.  Every time there is one step closer for Justice for Caylee it seems the defense takes it back 4 steps.

I so agree Green Eyes, this news makes me very sad and disgusted.  If there is a silver lining to this can someone please tell me what it is?

While I hate to see JS go I am very amused by his opinon. He has shown that he truly "gets" the defense. If I was Bozo I would PRAY I was never in front of this judge EVER. I have seen a few motions to recuse filed but rarely have I seen them granted. This is an Honest Judge and I would be happy to draw him - on either side. (After all, no matter what Bozo and the crew say FAIR is what it is supposed to be all about.)

I just called an attorney friend who was SURE he would recuse himself..............I now her a Texas size steak dinner now BTW..she is going to check with a friend in FL to see if she can get  a 'feel' for Perry....she did remember he has been the Chief Judge

The judge presiding over Casey Anthony's murder trial has recused himself after allegations of impropriety.

Anthony's defense filed a motion Friday requesting that Judge Stan Strickland be disqualified from the case.

In the motion, Anthony's defense team alleged that Strickland struck up an inappropriate relationship with a blogger known as "Marinade Dave."

"The defendant, Casey Marie Anthony, reasonably fears that she will not receive a fair trial because of the conduct and apparent prejudice and bias of the judge," the motion said.
